CORRECTION: The Orient Capital V2 is 40.5mm (not 43mm). It's a good alternative to the Bambino if you want a quartz watch or something a little cheaper.
    My top picks are:
    Seiko SNK809 - amzn.to/3cq4fyH
    Orient Bambino V2 - amzn.to/2yROqlz
    Casio F-84W - amzn.to/2RvOhL1

I'm very pleasantly surprised. Many lifestyle and fashion channels make a fool of themselves when talking about watches, but this list could as well be from a designated watch channel, everything important is here.
The only things in that price range which were not included are vintage pieces and Chinese specials, but those are arguably more niche anyways.

For me my favorite field watch is the lorus titanium. Lorus is owned by seiko and their 37mm field watch is only 6mm thick and the case is made from titanium. $78.
For dress watch, it is Citizen NH8350 series watches. Better looking than the bambino with a much quieter automatic movement (8200 caliber inhouse). $99
Minimalist watch, most likely the Bering 13242-507. Sleek minimalist chronograph with blue sunburst dial and silver secondary dials and Sapphire glass. $100.

I recommend a Casio analogue watch which is stainless steel has a black dial and Roman numerals and that is the Casio MTP-1377D-1AVEF. It is 40mm with a depth of 10mm and comes on a stainless steel bracelet and has a water resistance of 100M. I purchased mine on Amazon UK for only £29.99 so it is well below the $100 and indeed well below $50. I love the watch, it's good quality and very wearable with almost anything. You can't go wrong with this watch. I also recommend the Casio 5610 G-Shock which if you shop around may be able to get one below $100. It is solar powered and has multiband 6 with 200M water resistance and is more wearable than the 5600 and has everything you need in a watch, I have two of them, the all black version and the standard one with the positive display, they are great rugged watches which you can expect from a G-Shock without it being too bulky on the wrist.

For the dress watch category here are a few great watches that are just beyond $100.
Seiko SUP880 - it's a retagular watch that's a homage to the Cartier Tank (basically, if you're looking for a budget tank - this is the way to go.)
Timex Marlin 34mm - this one is almost $200 but you can often find it on sale bringing it down to around $130 - $150. Great size, slides under the cuff easily and it's very unique looking.

Another one you might want to put on your list:
    invicta Pro Diver.
I might catch some crap for that recommendation, but it's got the NH35 movement, screw-down crown, mostly solid links (except for the end links) and it holds up reasonably well. It's a blatant Submariner homage, so you have to be cool with that, but it's a solid watch for the money. Mine keeps good time.

I recently bought the Casio A1000M-1BEF for 85 dollars. I've been waiting for Casio to do an affordable all steel digital watch for a long time, and I'm not disappointed. One crucial thing about the Casio A1000M-1BEF is that the face doesn't look like it does in the online pictures with studio lights. It makes the face appear to be multicoloured, but in most lights it is just black. I think it would sell much better if people realised that aforementioned fact.

The automatic variants do peak well above $100 USD, but the quartz flavours are just under $80 USD as of 5/2/20. On another note, I'm glad to see the Casio Duro make the cut! Phenomenal watch for the price point, and I like the Duro a tad better than my own Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB (with the key difference being my $60ish Pro Diver having a Seiko NH35A automatic movement).

All really excellent choices Brock, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I have several of the ones you mention including the Swatch once again which is a great watch. I regularly swim with it as it’s easy to read in the water and so light it does not affect swimming. It also shows the 30mm is indeed enough for swimming, heck, I’ve dived off diving boards and slid down water slide with it on and it’s never let in a drop! It’s also the watch Pope Francis wears daily.

I usually wear more expensive watches, but I just bought the Casio A500WA-1 world time digital watch for €30. I love how it looks with the mini map.

    Amazing content.
    I have
    1) Timex Fairfield 37mm
    2) Casio F91w
    3) Timex Weekender 38mm (non chrono)
    4) A DW, to compare. xD

You may try or speak about the Seiko's other brand's like Pulsar or Lorus! Those are great options and well made, Seiko's movement from quartz to automatic! Have a look on those 2 brands! They try to have everything: dress, casual, Chronograph, sport, digital maybe some Diver's! In my humble opinion, Pulsar is a great choice in front of Timex! It's one historical brand! Back in the day they build the first digital watch! Yes, Back then it was a Hamilton brand, but now is under Seiko's umbrella now!

I have a 6 1/4" wrist and the G-Shock square wears just fine. Because it's rectangular it wears smaller than the maximum diameter suggests.
The Vostok Amphibia may be a little left field for most but it's also incredible value!

I'm so glad you made this video. I'm a man with 13 cm or 5.11 inch wrists so even some women's watches are too big for me.

I wear Pulsar watches. Quality watches for an affordable price. Strange I never see them in US vids.

Pulsar is basically a different division of Seiko at this point. Pulsar Would be a good opportunity for Seiko to save their name brand stuff for a higher price bracket and rename their lower end stuff, but unfortunately it seems like they are kind of neglecting it. I heard they recently stopped distributing them in the UK.

Yes, Pulsar is a sub brand of Seiko. Pulsar uses Japanese quartz movements. So no automatics.

The gshock 5600 wears much smaller than one may think. Because of it's dimensions. Fits good on my 6.5 inch wrist.

  • @conradcoolerfiend

Brock, I know it says so on Amazon, but that G Shock is very unlikely to be 48mm. I have the DW5600E-1V (the classic G Shock) and the case width measures 43mm. I'm pretty sure all 5600 models have the same case dimensions. (Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong).
By the way, they 5600 G Shock line is a great recommendation even for small wrists. I have 6" wrists and it still looks good (whereas I've had a 41mm Omega Seamaster that just looked too big).

I have had the Seiko SNE093 for about close to six years now and it's still working great. Just like any other solar watch within that price range, you have to keep it in some kind of light, if not it'll stop working after a while.
