I love watching y'all, you're great people, that work hard for your family and country. It's so refreshing in this day and time to see families with younger generation working for the family business and keeping the American dream alive. A huge KUDOS to y'all! Also this should have been the first part of this comment, y'all love Jesus and make no bones about it.
God bless each of you and take care!!
Don't know if you'll see this but I've ran a grader for 40+ years, always keep material in front of the moldboard, on the roads, one pass on both edges to the center then straighten the blade and level the center, this gives it a decent crown.
Was gonna say the same thing. Been grading for a few years now and that’s how I was trained. Keep the material in center and keep a good crown
I’ve heard that the crown should be about four inches, sounds a lot but probably right. Nice job Dougo..😊
Crowns are usually 2%. 3% can be better in snowy or wet areas to make sure roads drain. So, 2% at 14’ would be about 3.3”. You guys are spot on.
Some of the operators in our county could use training from you. The one that maintains our road is a joke could move more gravel with a toy Tonka grader than he does.
That can’t be right. The guy that does mine goes by once in the spring pushing it all to one side. Then in the fall he pushes it all to the other side. To top it off he even rolls up the sod for me on the last snow fall every year.
Larson Farms must have the cleanest equipment on the planet. Good job, especially by Brody.
MY Dad was a stickler about keeping equipment clean. Wash down and a blow off, His other trick was some used motor oil with a little diesel fuel to thin the oil, lightly spray everything. Kept things from rusting badly over winter.
Proud to say Brody worked for Spring Valley Farms in Morris!
We're never going to see Dougo again 😂. He'll be out scraping all day
He is just scraping by!
Grandpa is probably standing in the window shaking his head.
I agree, he's probably saying he used a hand scythe to cut the grass & a shovel & rake to level the roads, ah the good old days.
If Brodie's face looked like that, imagine the lungs
Brodie needs a thumbs-up sticker that says Brodie-Fied.... That man is a perfectionist.
Get those guys masks and gloves when polishing. Dougo is starting a one man road leveling crew.
Millennial Farmer and Larson Farms are having a truck shine contest.
I need the collab asap
Larson Farms will win
Not much of a contest there..
Larson will win, they have Brody. 👍👍👍
@lstone.09 they will win because they are doing it themselves vs having it done by an outside party like MN Millennial Farmer did
You all are awesome
That Blade is Impressive!
When dougo is happy with the driveway he will be yelling "slow down boys" that's going to be a nice tool.
Driveway Option: I think I seen you were digging out the center of the driveway again. 40 years ago we had frost heaves in the middle of the driveway every year. We ran a 6" tile down the center of the road and dumped it into a ditch. Added more gravel and solved the problem of frost heaves and soft spots in the driveway. Not sure if it would help you but worth a shot.
Glad Dougo is liking his new buy. Great video.
Brodie trying out (Canada) Trudeau Black face, LOL.
I am guessing dougo just loves having Brody there. They both love clean and shiny. I should have him come teach me how to buff and polish like that. Keep up the good work guys. And ya I agree that used equipment with a little elbow grease will make it look new. May cost some but it’s worth it.
Brody make sure you wear a mask when you are doing that . I have copd because I never wore a mask.
Yes, breathing aluminium, aluminium oxide & buffing wheel particulates covered in cutting compound is very bad for your lungs & does cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
I get Doug-O’s excitement over the new blade. You should get him a road grader. I don’t think you’d ever get him out of one. I was raised around heavy equipment and have run a bit of everything and road graders are my favorite because they’re so satisfying to my OCD.
To be fair, that new scraper implement really looks to be very good. All of that carpet to protect the paintwork also speaks volumes as to the care and pride the manufacturer put in their product. Whilst it is inevitable that farm and construction equipment gets scratched and beaten up with use, the longer the paint stays on equipment, the later rust will start and the longer it will last. Good on 'em I say.
To get the Privacy Guard Squelch to work you need to put the microphone into the physical clip and the ground triggers it to work. Otherwise you'll hear the neighbors a state over talking about their own business if they use the same frequency. 9:28
Awesome video Chet.
Not sure if Brody looked better or worse, we'll find out if it all washes off after he takes a couple showers. But that trailer is looking nice. Good equipment isn't cheap even if it's used.
Good employees aren't cheap either. 🚜🚜🚜
However, you do tend to find many employers ARE cheap!
Thankfully Larson Farms doesn't fall into this category.
Good job guys
Bodies, I see your work and then I see your ride. You're a complex man.
Another great video as usual! Dougo that was a great purchase! You'll love it!!
I really enjoy the mini montages you do, including this one with the scraper, it makes the videos fun to watch.
Good for you Dougo make it easier for ur self ! God bless 🙏🏻
I love the way you keep up all your trucks/trailers and all other equipment. It is the way I was raised too - as farmers!
Between Grandpa and Dougo there will be speed limit signs in the driveway once it gets all dressed up. And Grandpa will be on rake duty handing out rakes to the folks speeding and throwing rocks. LOL I speak from experience from a cousin of mine who was like this, by the time you got to the shop he had rake in hand and you was going back and smoothing out the ridges. !!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Chet and Brody😊
I expect (for sure now) that we will see Dougo out on the township roads with the new box scrapper.....retirement job for him?
Chet these are your best videos
Good to see your farm is productive and prepping for spring farming
Ya could go to work for the township roads, with that blade.
Thanks for another great video Chet and Dougo and crew.
It was most interesting and enjoyable.
Wow. Your discussion on that aluminum sided grain trailer was interesting. I agree with you that it looks nice but when you fix up used equipment sometimes you have more in it than if you would have brought new. Understand what you are saying. Really nice trailer now so you might as well keep it Dougo. Oh my.
I really like the road grader machine you got Dougo. It is totally run by hydraulics which makes it nice to control. I imagine there is a learning curve to it like anything else. Learning how to grade must take a while. One of your subscribers ran a grader and had some suggestions. That might be useful to you Dougo. Like the way it operates. Grandpa may have some suggestions, oh my-ha!!!!!
I know you will get the hang of it soon and have it mastered on how to operate it Dougo.
Good video. Brody and Jordan sure got dirty from polishing that aluminum. Need masks and a breathing device to do that polishing.
Thanks for everything Chet. You all take and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I think Dougo should have been a county road grader operator.
Keep up the great work Chet
That machine is going to make your life easy and your driveways perfect what a improvement
So nice to have "new toys" or should I say implements.
That trailer is better than new.
You guys always have the best videos
If you've every watched a good blade operator, they have a very slow forward speed that allows them the adjust the blade while moving.
Try not to take the crown out of the driveway.
You make a pass on each side then the final pass is down the middle.
I always used a mounted 3 point angle blade on tractors with draft links draft control. The tractor kept the set grade. Always put in a decent crown, with ample side ditches. A drained road, with a decent crown is a road that needs way less maintenance. Grading a flat road is a recipe for constant problems.
I like Dougo new blade it's going to work out fine
you guys and your toys, making money always it looks like everything you touch be safe god bless
Brody you have to sand down that aluminum then use the buffer it works really good.
Gear keeper makes a really good retractable mic holder
Really nice job filming the blade. Impressive detail work on the trailer and still better than anything on television. 😊
Looking good . Enjoy your new toy, Dougo!
Brody is one hell of a man!!!!
“That’s why I got it” dougo would be awesome to work with
Dougo has a Full time Job on the Township Road’s Now!
Mr. Clean!
"There's no clean like Mr. Clean."
awesome video guys
Very nice scraper Dougo!!!!! I can tell already you like it a lot
That is nice looking scraper. Will work good for your driveways.
Dougo that was a good purchase. That blade does an awesome job. Love it! Brodie sure has that semi Al shined up. It looks great! Chet great job on that CB installation. I like Midland too, and Cobra. Cool video!👍❤️
Dougo is going to LOVE that!
I switched the hand radios for our road crew to midlands radio just because you guys said they work great so if I’m not happy I’ll come talk to you😂
That scraper is pretty awesome!
Chet you and Dougo should just travel around scrape driveways and making ditches. Sent Jordan and Brodie out to polish stuff. Probably less stress than farming
Love the polishing. Go Brody.
Brody is a machine! 💪👍🏼
Awesome video Chet!
Nice shine and grader
looks like blade is doing a great job
Always love your videos, keep it up!!!
Hopefully you checked your SWR to make sure the antenna is set up right or you will burn up your radio.
H take it from a 45, your veteran CB man.
Another great video
looking forward to seeing a lot more of the scrapper in action.
Love the videos keep up the great work
Good job Dougho.👏👏👏
No hate here!! Great job showing off the new grader as well!
Great video !
Waiting to see if the new blade gets Merlin approved. Doug was sold before he bought it, the big smile tells it all. The "Road Boss" will have things straightened out, FAST. That is a Cadillac machine.
20:41 That is one cool view angle! 👊🏻
Enjoyed the ride, Cheers! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So much fun watching your videos.. That is a nice piece of equipment..
Love that the videos are now in 2k and 4k :)
Scratch a grader off of the wish list with that new toy.
External speakers are just the Best
Nice to see the new toy pretty sweet
Chet Dougo Broodie Chris that was so good that new scraper is outstanding great but Dougo great explanations and that trailer looks like a show trailer Broodie you could eat off it so clean.
Great video.
A beastly duo.
Tri-Ax Stainless W Polished Rails.....Straight up 🔥🔥🔥
You guys are the best. More videos of Toby please. 🤪
great video
Nice grader!
Brodie is a soul brother
This is the best video I have ever seen to show how to mount 2 ways in a new style tractor, the first one I did with that style cab I didn’t know you had to install an external antenna and there was no videos that I found on how to do it
That trailer is so shining the Miss Universe Pageant could use it for a dressing room mirror!
Dougo look like he was having fun with new toy
Now the blade is all scratched up 😢! Get out the touch up kit.
And yet Dumpy still gets no love from Brodie 🫤
FYI, it looks like a loose blade bolt (carrige bolt) on lower left (drivers side if you will) I could see it spinning as Dugo was scraping. Looks like a fantastic beefy tool... enjoy.
That's a lot of hopeing😂
Dougo, well you have no excuse for any bumps or dips on any roads. It will be smoooooth riding. But now you have to spend a fortune on gravel!! Great video
Need more of the blade action !
There's two seasons in Minnesota; Winter and Road Work...
I was told the two seasons were Winter and Winter's Coming.
Love Dougo shirt!
Anybody catch the brand? Looking for a shirt like that
Looks like doug is getting his retirement projects started. Grade the road and clean the shop floor, go home and take a nap.
