Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Good for onyx admitting he's not comfortable driving something rather than driving it if it's too much for him to handle
absolutely
Is it allowed in the USA for a kid driving such a huge machine on public roads?
@@daandemeyer1708 yes sir
@@daandemeyer1708I took my drivers test at 14 in our tandem axle grain truck back in 1990, on my way back from the grain elevator. Passed with flying colors.
@@daandemeyer1708 I learned to drive a tractor at 12, car, 16. We do some silly things here, but at a certain level, they recognize that families have to work the fields.
Seeing all three generations working together is cool. You will remember these days fondly.
Love the respect they have for each other
I was just going to type that out, but you said it for me. Very cool indeed
Thank GOD for farmers. I never knew how hard they work and the sacrifices they make in the process of farming. Thank You Zach.
Zack ,to keep your sense of humor with all that switching from corn to soybeans deserves a Oscar 😅
I'll make my own Oscar up and 3D print it lol!!
Put on the 6x hood ornament
Grandpa said when planting Beans "It doesn't hurt to leave a few on top"
People don't say it enough, but thank you and every other farmer out there working hard to feed America. You all ROCK!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You know you're a Millennial Farmer fan when you start up anything with a Deere logo and it takes a minute to realize, no it's fine, it's not supposed to bark at you 😂. Glad to see you're able to get back at it!
I’ve watched you since 2018! Zach is what got my interest in farming from the get go! keep it up!
Thank you!
I second that about 2018 for me also also watch the welker's and Larson's
You watch the Larson Farms too, so do I
The Welker videos are hard to watch. Constant montages made by someone who is paid to do so. Takes the wholesomeness out of what they’re trying to do.
@@HAWKSTA24 well the great thing about this country is nobody's forcing you to watch them
This comment will get lost in the many that have already been made but I want to tell you I appreciate the detail you supply to we layman on how you setup the equipment and how you approach farming. I only consume what you produce but I love the detail you provide. I am sure there is a lot of editing done to make this entertaining and informative.
Thank you!!
It’s been cool watching Onyx grow up and taking on more responsibilities. I know I wouldn’t trade growing up on the farm working with my Dad and Grandpa for anything. They are both gone now but my memories remain. Love watching you guys working together.
It's awesome to see how your dad is with you, and how you are with Onyx. So many people are high strung and expect everyone to be as good at something as they are. People are quick to forget how much they sucked at something before they learned how to do it.
Farming is long, hard work. Thank you for what you do. Much respect. Cheers, from upstate New York.
I am still waiting for the row unit 19 to give a error. But the new planter is doing great
Its nice seeing a fine young man working on the family farm
Good job!!!
Your father is always a positive influence. That is awesome!!!
I hope the weather is cooperative and you guys have a record crop!!!
Onyx is very fortunate to have both you and your dad to learn from.He is gonna be a heck of a farmer if he wants to pursue farming as a way of life!
Almost makes you want to have two planters ready to go just in case.
I concur with the LMNT. i mow at Osakis Country club and halfway through my greens mowing in the morning my fingers start to cramp, YES, my fingers. When I use LMNT b4 heading to the course it staves off the hand cramps. And it is amazing because if you have never had them, THEY HURT!!.
Love watching you guys plant. God bless the farmers and all they do to help feed the world. You are appreciated.
"Ahead an inch"........... "I Can't Hear you"........"AHEAD AN INCH!!!!!!". Reminds me of this past week at our farm, working with my Dad 😁
A whole lotta man hours in one day covering a lot of ground. From someone who eats.......a BIG THANK YOU! Wonderful seeing three generations all working together upon the farm. Family is everything.....KUDOs to you all.
You can tell your dad is a good farmer, when you drove up to get him it's apparent he's outstanding in his field.
Never been this early before. Hope everyone's well. Wishing everyone a safe and smooth planting season !!
May 21 here and watched 160 acres of corn planted. West central Indiana. Good luck today.
Good luck to you as well.
East Central Indiana here alot of corn already in around here.
@@axe835 Good to hear.
Where is west central? I’m west central and have been done for 3 weeks. Just started first cutting of hay last week. Going to finish the rest this week.
@@trevorperrault5975 Around us in Wabash county some just finished up last week it’s been wet all spring.
Don't see what the big deal is ... all you do is dig a hole, drop a seed in and it grows! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My grandpa trusted me to run his farms 16 row planter on Saturday
You are not alone! I’m in the Mid Atlantic and I’ve been out of the fields for over 2 weeks AND slugs are wiping out beans and corn that are planted😫
I am in New Engoand with a garden, and slugs wiped out half my seedling.
Thanks for another great video.
It was interesting.
Onyx did great with the roller but asked for help folding it up and unfolding it. Proud of him for asking for help on something he hadn’t done before.
Once he got going with it he was fine.
Switching your new planter over to beans was not bad. You had a good day planting beans.
Now switch back to corn. And away you go again.
Dad was tillage so it all worked out just fine.
Busy day but you all made it work. Nice going everyone.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Farming, like fishing, when it is good it’s great, when it’s not, it’s a financial hardship.
This is great, how much respect you have between y'all. Not often are families working together in a mostly positive way. -- You know the old addage - Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
Lot of places hitting the planting as hard as they can. Grain channels mentioned corn planting was up 21% from last week, if I remember correctly. Back in the 70's and 80's our little ford was so small compared to what you guys have. It's hard for me to grasp doing over 200 acres in a single (long) day.
As a city kid, well old dude now, I find Zacks videos facilitating and so educational. I’ve been a subscriber since you only had maybe 3-4k of us. Love watching you and your family grow on the farm. The little man is getting big so fast. Good in Onyx for busting his hump and pitching in where he can on the farm.
Thank you!
Couple a genuine hard workers you've got out there
LMNT is a must for anyone working out, certainly helps me hydrate before & after running. Salted watermelon is my favorite.
Love your dad. I hope and wish you all get along off camera.
Your dad is such a gem.
Hope you do. Q&A sometime.
Awesome to see You your Dad and Your Son working together like this memories are build on this keep going 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Great idea for a Hollywood star in Minnesota, put a sticker on the 6x Oscar winner
We need rain in South Australia only had 3mm this month average 44.9 for May
More rain is headed your way, best of luck to you
Glad Anna and didge are doing great
Thanks for taking the time to share
Just be happy it isn't so dry this year!!!
Awesome video guys.thank you
Hello from South Dakota
Howdy good sir
The information is amazing
Cleetus has a roller that might work if you need the extra help.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing !!
Nice seeing things going ok for now
Thanks Zack great job
Great video as always
it's always a pleasure to watch your videos even on the other side of Atlantic Ocean several thousand miles away.

You're doing great. Keep plugging away at it!
what a great video.. really injoy the content everytime i watch.. dont ever quit... have learned alot by watching yall
I've never been so happy to order from one of your sponsors! This is just what I've been wanting for bike rides and preventing cramps and 'brain haze/fog' from water loss!
ALWAYS, VERY PROUD OF Y'ALL 🙏😁😁..... THE GREATNESS OF LOVE SURROUNDING Y'ALL 😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉❤❤
I love your videos Zach ❤️
Great video
Good to see you planting again. Really enjoyed the video!
Outstanding upload Zach! Hang in there!
I watched your last video while running a rotary hoe trying to help our corn emerge here in northwestiowa. This time im watching having just torn out and replanted that same corn. Never got the heat needed. Huge patches of rotten seed. Best of luck.
Always great to see a video from Zack I enjoy your farm channel and your racing channel
Man you guys are getting hit hard today, storms, 21 May 2024. Hope y'all are safe up there.
I've been drinking this for a couple of weeks. The grapefruit and citrus are my favorite so far.
Thanks for answering my question. Never thought of gps being affected by solar stuff.
“AHEAD AN INCH!!!!!” Made me chuckle on that one, brought back some good memories
Floors are looking good!! New sweeper is doing its job!!1👍👍
We load the planter all the time with our loader ,it works fine as u see, simple and easy,😊
Nice work
Takes a great deal of maturity to do what Onyx did, great job Mom & Dad
Onyx is a fast becoming a fantastic farm hand! Love the way he is not afraid to say what he thinks about things. He growing up fast.
25:00
That will never get old!! Lol😅
Love it
Hopefully the rain keeps up throughout the summer maybe that will help
Awesome video Zach. 🚜🚜🚜
Thanks
Body building contest this summer after AG1, Huer and LMNT
Making progress sweet be safe
Just hoping the weather holds so you guys can get your crops planted.
Quite a marathon work session for everyone. Great video!!
Awesome video Zack..
I have a "farm dog" (Austrailian Shepard, Border Collie and whatever else) that does the same thing as your German Shepard upon staring a pickup, tractor or 4-wheeler. Her bark almost breaks my eardrums, no amount of yelling or threatening does any good...(she keeps right on doing it)
@millennialfarmer hopefully you dont get the storms they are calling for your area today we are supposed to get it here in southern Ontario tomorrow.
I live about 35 miles NW of Zach & it has been raining almost all day here. We have had over 1 1/2 inches so far.
I'm from South Western Ontario Tri cities.Whefe is your farm.
@@thedonleroy 15 miles away. Just over an inch by 5pm. Heard Alex near 2.5” total at 5pm?
@@larrythompson8630 We have had 2.15 inches since Sunday. Hope it stops now because everything is absolutely saturated here now.
Amazing
Been watching for quite a while, love the videos Zach! Awesome to see the 3 generations working hard, not only to support your family but to support this country and keep the farming industry alive.
How many acres are you planting this year? 3 weeks for your corn to come up? I drove past a farm here in NE Florida today and the sileage corn he planted last week is about 6 inches high already!
I got some of the LMNT drink for my wife who had terrible leg cramps just like you and just after one drink mix she saw a huge change. Great flavors and amazing drink. Thanks so much.
#1 your dads Chevy jacket is epic!
#2 does he ever yell/get mad ? Come on man get pissed like 99.9% of farmers do this time of year…slam a door , cuss Zach out, …. I don’t know throw a wrench across the shop.
… unedited video sometime soon ???
Anyway keep up the great work love this channel!!
I know what it's like Zack! Sometimes the long days are what's needed but dealing with mother nature, ya just haveta do what ya haveta do!! All you guys know what's needed, sometimes you can do something, sometimes you can't but I reckon with everyone working together just makes it all that much easier!! It's great to see!!
Looks like the trap ground got planted;) went by with a load alfalfa 5-22 and seen your planting rig.
You need to fabricate a big funnel for that seed to load into the planter...nice work
Sorry that they left the gate open. I have to deal with a contractor that they cut the right a way for the power company.
"Be Safe "
Zach ur lucky to work beside both ur awesome father and ur great son. I know it’s not always the easiest but be blessed seriously. Y’all are just an inspiration family overall. Thanks for all the videos Zach. I’m not a farmer nor do I know anything about farm production but love ur channel. Think it’s something that kids need to be taught where our food comes from and how it gets from the beginning of its life till it reaches our stomachs.
When I was your age I had severe leg cramps, they were so bad they even tear my muscle. Try drinking a lot of water and tonic water. Worked for me.
