  • Take a look back at the last hundred years of little girls' clothes. It's also incorrect. Flour sack and feed sack material is what was most commonly used for homemade garments for girls. (Potato sacks got used too.) Feed and flour mills actually started producing packaging with cute patterns, because they knew that mothers were using them to make clothes. Parents would actually try to buy multiple bags of flour (or feed) with the same pattern just to get enough material for one dress. Times were hard for everyone, and I assure you and everyone else commenting on this video's ridiculous usage of Shirley Temple as a fashion icon and a dress made out of a sheer fabric that would've been outrageously expensive, that boys were not the only ones who got clothing made out of something unconventional.
