Hush is one of my faves! I saw Funny Games for the first time recently and it was so disturbing even though there's not a lot of violence, it felt so real! I have to watch the remake, and your recs that I haven't seen, See For Me, Panic Room, Incident in a Ghostland and Haute tension
Just throwing in a classic, more on the thriller side: Wait Until Dark from 1967 with Audrey Hepburn. Such a great one 🖤

I thought Funny Games was truly great, but so incredibly anxiety inducing. I'm happy to have watched it, but don't think I ever will again.
I agree with you, home invasions feels so very real, and that is a bit off putting for me. It's so easy to put myself in the characters place, and I often find them more stressful than entertaining. I really liked the concept of See For Me, though, I think I will check it out. :)

The Strangers and Them, for me, are the best
Hush, Incident in Ghostland, I see you and Don't Breath are my favorites form your list. I'll try to catch See for Me. Seems interestingly unique. I'm hoping to eventually see The Strangers Chapter One. I enjoyed the first one. Great list and video.
I love the genre specific (and all really) your vids, my all time favourite genre is Folk Horror and would love to see your take on it. You may have done it already but damned if I can find it. If you have then maybe Australian Folk Horror. We do it well. Alison’s Birthday is fantastic and basically the template for Hereditary with more low key humour.
You might want to check out ILS/Them. The Strangers is one of what I call horrific favorites and this comes real close to it.

These kinds of movies can be pretty uncomfortable to watch, but when they're well-made, like the ones you recommended, it's worth enduring the spikes of anxiety. One home invasion movie I like is The Collector. Great video.
Yeah, Inside is one that's on my list of movies I'll probably never watch. I just can't deal with that kind of gore anymore. Absolutely love Hush! Can't wait for Flanagan to release it on disc and find a home for it on streaming after Netflix let the rights go.
I really like the second Strangers more. My favorite on this list is Don’t Breathe. I haven’t seen The Strangers Chapter 1 yet. I’m thinking about watching it.

One of the best home invasion movies of the last decade is the Spanish one Kidnapped.
My absolute favorite would be Fortress (1985) with Rachel Ward, is about a school that gets invaded my masked men...

All... Great movies! But the mask, in the lower right corner of the screen... It looked very sad, because you didn't mention: Screaming... It's a joke! Super good selection! I would add... The Purge (2013).
Honorable mention: Cape Fear (1991)
Hush and Incident in a Ghostland were both great. I need to see some of the others. One of my favorite home invasion horror movies ended up being Luther the Geek. It's about a weirdo who clucks like a chicken and has metal teeth. The actor's eyes are insane. He sneaks into a woman's car, and she inadvertently takes him home. I thought the movie was a horror-comedy based on the premise. It's not. It gets uncomfortably realistic. Being stuck in your own home with an absolute psycho like that is terrifying. And he can take his time because the woman lives on a farm with no one else around. The movie was put out by Troma, but there aren't many jokes in it, if at all. A surprisingly dark movie, even though the killer sounds goofy on paper. It's still on Tubi.

Thnx for your post. I saw Strangers Part 1 and I was not impressed. Saw much better movies with the same subject. I will watch your suggestions because I like this kind of horror a lot. I will let you know what I think of them 👍
