  • This simple DIY project will inspire you to think outside the box for large planters in your home. I customized planters using Rust-Oleum's stone texture spray paint. One of the planters was once a popcorn tin!! Which one did you like better - the black or the white?

    Very nice! I love the Rustoleum texture paints. We refurbished a concrete table whose pedestal had been painted vial yellow, and use a Rustoleum textured paint. Turned out great. Thanks for sharing your planter ideas.

    Great job Melissa! I have noticed the nozzles on the Rustoleum cans are way better than they use to be, as well. Keep up with the cool ideas! 👍

    Melissa, I would suggest spraying on cardboard or dropcloth out in the grass. If you overspray, you can cut it later with the lawnmower. Thanks for a great video and great looking planters.

    That’s awesome that rust-oleum sponsored you. Also pick up their spray gun grip. It clips to the top of any spray can and alleviates the finger push. Makes it work/feel like a paint sprayer with great control.

    You need more holes in popcorn tin. Will create an anaerobic condition in bottom. Pythium aka root rot.

    What makes it " cute and modern"? The straight sides? Just asking so my wife appreciates what I pick out.

    When is Rust-Oleum going to come out with an outdoor Stone Effect spray paint? Says on the can indoor.

    These are absolutely beautiful! Will definitely be copying. I have an old trashcan that I can no longer use (have to get one with a lid cause my cats are raccoons)...so I'll be spray painting that. Does your black one have holes in the bottom? Mine doesn't but I was thinking of just putting a couple inches of pebbles & maybe moss or that coconut fiber for drainage.

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog
      @WelcometotheWoodsBlog  Před 3 lety

      It does have a hole in the bottom, but if you put some drainage in the bottom of your pot and have a tolerant plant growing in it, you should be fine!

    Young lady what helps with the spray paint they call me Sparky by the way I've been doing this a long time take your cans of spray paint turn them upside down and set them out in the sun for 20-30 minutes before you start to use them bad keeping them hot warm Creedmoor little bit more pressure to get all the pain out and all the good stuff that stuck on the bottom cuz these things have been sitting on a Shelf

    . You appear to be pregnant?...absolutely DO NOT USE ANY SPRAYS or PAINTS or GLUES or CLEANERS nor any of The thousands of TOXIC PRODUCTS out there in the art, crafts, household products or DIY world, nor anything else like that WHILE YOU ARE PREGNANT! NOT EVEN IN OPEN AIR...because you're still getting SOME VERY TOXIC FUMES and these are passed through your system to the baby! I had a friend in nursing school who was exposed as was her husband and she had a tragic outcome!
