  • Textured stone effect spray paint has become a rising trend amongst the On A Budget group members. From pebble effects to terracotta, we decided to get Joe to give them all a go, to see what looks best and any usage top tips he can impart his wisdom on. Crockery, glass and even some usual items (a Coke bottle and a Pringles can!). Have you ever used this and will you be trying it out?

If controlling the spray is difficult, try using a clip-on trigger: I find this gives better fine control, and you don't get paint on your finger. I found stone effect paint tricky too; using it for an unmade road surface on a model railway baseboard worked, but only after first applying a matching base coat.

Hi. I used the Stone effect spray paint but I used the Chalk spray paint as a base coat then the Stone. Great finish.

It's running, because you're spraying too close and too much all at once. Short burst, and control

Also, glass is way too smooth. You need to rough up the surface first.
