    Another great demonstration that helps figuring the best use of each. I have a LPH400 LV4 1.4 and love how it lays medium solids clear, but the wide fan of the Kiwami 1.3 really helps me on getting coverage without mottling with metallic base. I do prefer to turn the pressure on the Kiwami down and account for it on fluid. Great guns.
    Keep up the good work, Pete!

      I've had the Wider4L for a while now and never needed to use it above 1.4 bar. It performs really well even at 1.1 bar. Mostly, these are rated that low for local emission standards, but I've never found a need to wack it up pressure wise, it's quite slow at the lower pressure but it's certainly pleasant using it at low pressure, particularly in my environment.

    Hi Pete, well that was a very interest comparison👌 it's surprising the difference the tip and cap makes as to how it sprays. The Kiwami4 with the biggest fan was huge, I would say it's mainly the holes in the aircap that effects the size of the fan but even if the holes are the same size it also makes a difference where the holes are placed on the air horns and how far apart they are🤔

      @peteshobbies5383  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi Tim, Thank you, I do enjoy making the videos.
      The WBX produces probably the most overspray of all these, that's partly due to the fact it normally runs at a higher pressure than most of the others and the cap has quite big air holes.
      It should get less if you lower the pressure, but that will be at the expense of finish .
      What pressure do you normally run it at?

    Hello Pete, this video was very informative to distinguish the differences between Kiwami4 and Wider4 series. It helped me quite a bit of what I am getting if I purchase a Kiwami4. But, I need to know the viscosity of the paint you used (clear you said?? - how dense is it?) as I intend to spray water-based acrylic paint perhaps as dense as heavy cream :-)) 1.4mm tip is ok with this kind of density? I know you guys are familiar to automotive paints, but I would appreciate it if you can comment on this. And you're right on your previous comment that I should get out more often :-))) Kind regards.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi buddy, I mix an HS clear coat with thinners and a little black tinter to give it a little colour.
      The viscosity is around 16 seconds through a Ford cup, which is something used in automotive paint to measure viscosity.
      It's on a par with a base coat really which probably doesn't help you much.
      Your guide will be what the technical data sheet for the materials you intend to use says, if, as I think you said, it says a 1.4 tip, then presuming it's mixed correctly a 1.4 should be absolutely fine

      @@peteshobbies5383 sorry friend I just went and watched many more of your videos that answered the two questions I had, but I still have one more lingering, I’m curious as to what new gun from iwata has the best atomization and fan for blends on solid colors specifically, I’ve been doing research all day and night and taking what you said into consideration I’m looking at the Kiwami 4 with the WBX for clear coat, and I’m then looking around at the wider 4l for base coat, which only has the J2 cap, and I just don’t think that sounds like the most optimal for solid color blends, I’m looking for a finer grade atomization so that specks don’t show, I guess more so I’m asking for your personal opinion on where you would put these guns, and with what caps you would equip them with, I’ve always liked keeping the clear gun separate from color, and I just want to make sure I get confirmation before I order these things in, I really appreciate all of the good work and passion you put into all of this. And so please take your time in responding but also I’m quite eager to have this solved so that I can go ahead and order these, best wishes though friend you’ve done a great service already
