Gotta be peds or IM. Your dad said “I love questions” very much someone who can handle kids/IM patients. If he said “Yes, you can discuss that with the resident.” I’d have said surgeon.

He looks like a pain management doctor 😂 so calm! I had pain doctor who had exactly the same demeanour - really laid back and calm! In the UK pain management doctors are anaesthesiologists though? So maybe he’s an anaesthesiologist specialising in pain management? I don’t know 😂
I'm in Canada n have been receiving pain management injections for 10 years now.. luckily for me they are still working.. my pain doc is an anesthesiologist as well.. great man, we can talk about anything..

This was so much fun. I'm still premed, but I'll be applying for med school in the fall. My late mother was a FP... she used to quiz me as a kid on all types of things... so I would cherish the opportunity to quiz my doctor parent. Please do another part. 🙏 You have amazing parents!

I knew all about the Duodenum, Jejunum and Ileum, but only because I have an Ileostomy. My stomas name is Little Mr Pinkness and he is quite the character.
We both enjoy your videos, mostly because they are closer to the truth than any of us probably feel comfortable with. All of that stuff happens, but not all in one conversation. Usually.
Haha. If I didn’t happen to be a nurse, I’d know from all the GI surgeries I’ve had. J-tube, colectomy with ileo-rectal anastomoses….almost makes me wonder what’s LEFT in me😂

I learned/heard about Wilson's Disease on a episode of House that was in the first season. The patient had the rings around her iris when they examined her eye's to confirm it. Pretty cool

You can also open up the sphincter of oddi during a ERCP I only know this because I have chronic pancreatitis since before my 15th birthday and my GI did this to me to attempt to get me pain relief.

When I was a college student following interns around in our local hospital, we all listened to a case presentation of a pt. with "Wilson's Disease". An ophthalmoscope was passes from doc. to doc. to view the K-F rings. The last to look was an old, highly-regarded internist (one of the rare MACPs). He said, "That was an interesting presentation. But these are not K-F rings and she does not have Wilson's disease. So much for that. Labs came back and he was right, of course.

Maybe it’s the way he interacts with his family- very warm and calm. Shoot- I could be completely wrong and he is a trauma surgeon 🤷🏼♀️

Wow, the American pronunciation of duodenum so different to the British one that I initially thought your mother had got the question wrong! We say ileum and jejunum differently too, but your pronunciation of duodenum really takes the biscuit.

Isn’t Motegrity is used for gastroparesis….I NEVER had anyone suggesting motility drugs (reglan, cisapride back before it was banned) for my refractory constipation until I was diagnosed with gastroparesis and then discovered full-GI tract dysmotility. 🤔
