I've owned Leupold scopes for decades with zero issues. Never ever had to send any in for warranty. I really like how light weight their scopes are and their superior light gathering and image quality for their relatively smallish size. I recently bought several of their VX Freedom scopes and their turrets are kind of mushy compared to my old VX2s but they still track fine. Their glass are still excellent for being their economy line of Leupold scopes which are still superior to the Mich heavier Chinese scopes in the same price range.

I like the the Leupold vx3 now known as the HD in the 3.5 x10 for hunting the price range is more affordable in the $ 500.00 range than the higher end scope yet has the good glass and the quality that Leupold is known for

I've had great success with Leupold. Vortex turned be off years ago when they where new. Saw them at a trade show and all they could tell me was about their warranty. A warranty is useless to me when I'm days of hiking away from town and the scope fails with a buck, bull, ram or boar of a lifetime. Give me build quality not some piece of paper with a promise.

Look at the Zeiss V4 Conquest. I recommend the 4-16 model.

Having hunted for 60 some years now and have owned hundreds of rifles and scopes and I won’t buy anything except Leupold! They are made in USA they have a lifetime warranty even if you didn’t buy it new and they have the best light gathering scopes on the market so for hunters the are the best value out there Period! I like the guys from Vortex but that being said I have had nothing but trouble with all their scopes no matter what the price range they cover it but who wants to be without their rifle during hunting season!

I’ve only had one Leupold ever. 30 years ago to be exact. I think they were built better back then. Everything I have now is Vortex and I have no complaints. One thing I do want to say and hope you might have a discussion on this some day is, I will Never spend another dollar on a Bushnell product again. I would by a Tasco first before I would a Bushnell.

Great scopes for a low budget wallet, premium scopes are made in Europe, swarovski, zeiss, leica, Schmidt & bender .japan makes good scopes to in the upper segment

I've never had to warranty any of my leupold stuff. Now I've sent 5 vortex scopes back for replacements. I've never had to warranty burris either

I’ve used a lot of both I personally lean towards Leupold for glass but vortex has more features and usually better reticles for target shooting but I usually I am buying scopes for hunting so I lean Leupold for my mid tier hunting rifles or Swarovski for my high end rifles or Nightforce for my long range hunting rifles.

I have a low end Sig that is terrible. Leupold and Vortex have great warranties and are easy to sell if you want to upgrade. I love my two Meoptas in the sub $1000 range.

  • @Narcissist_Police

Leupold. I’ve never had to use their warranty,…vortex on the other hand.

I’m not a fan of vortex junk in my eyes and I’ve had a couple. I’m a big fan of Zeiss. I have a VX3HD on my 7mm-08 and it’s not a bad scope.

I've had problems with several of their Chinese made Vortex scopes while all of my Leupold scopes have been trouble free so far. I can wholeheartedly recommend Leupold including their cheap ones for basic simple no frills reliable optics. I can't recommend Chinese made Vortex scopes however I can recommend their Japan made scopes as long as you get them at least 40% off on sale or with military law enforcement discount or only if purchased from certain dealers who offer 40%-50% off via phone call. I can never recommend paying regular price for any scopes unless it's specifically for a March scope which are individually hand assembled in Japan and not mass produced.

The dark shadow around the edges of the vx freedom drive me nuts. My way cheaper vortx crossfire has better glass ....looking into the mark 3 HD in 3x9x40 now
