Comment opinion before I hear your conclusion: I just don't see how this isn't a stomp in Den's favor. The Xenomorphs wrecked so much havoc in their movies because they were so, well, alien. A complete unknown. And yes, while there is nothing exactly like it in Star Wars, there is a multitude of deadly aliens and weapons, many of which Din has faced. He has a range advantage. Whistling birds? Dead. Blaster? Dead. Beskar Spear? A little riskier, but still range and, dead xeno. The jet pack and helmet that has scanning and targeting tech just add to this, as the Alien's biggest mode in the first move, where its by itself, is stealth. And I just haven't seen anything that shows acid alone will get through beskar. Though, there are some gaps in the armor, so its possible; but the teeth and claws? Droid and lightsabers couldn't get through it, so I doubt it can. All in all id give it to the Mandalorian in about 8/10 scenarios, leaving room for good stealth and the armor gaps. I will now watch the video in full to see just how wrong I am lol
@@llamazing4326 It's from the teaser trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines. It's a good trailer. Here's the link. czcams.com/video/jBiwSzbPOzc/video.html
Honestly xenomorphs wouldn't even be in the top 10 most dangerous creatures list in Star Wars there are so many more things that are more deadly in that galaxy.
I think you've massively over rated the armoured carapace of the Xeno, we know that rifle caliber ammo (see the pulse rifle) and shotgun rounds can damage the Xenos skin, and the blaster can pierce metal so even one well placed shot should incapacitate or kill. And the lights lightsaber is just an all round bad time for both (see Kyle Hill (or because science))
However Mando has show really bad tracking skills and an over reliance of scanners so I'm not sure if he'll be able to win in any successful ambush at all
I haven’t seen any of the alien movies but this makes me really wonder what hellish competition the aliens must have on their home world to have adapted into such ridiculously powerful beings
I believe the blood might have a strong effect against the beskar as it's a chemical attack, not physical. That said we don't know anything about the chemical properties of beskar so it's best to consider a situation where if the acidic blood does work, and a situation where it doesn't work.
Considering it doesn't melt the xeno's carapace, it's got less to do with the material and more to do with the conformation thereof. If I may speculate, as it's called "organic acid," it probably reacts differently to carbon based things, which is why it melts steel (iron bonded to carbon) and human flesh (mostly hydrocarbons and other carbon compounds). Plastics that we use are carbon based too. Soda-lime glass has a carbon makeup beside the silicate. It's reasonable to assume that metals without a heavy carbon component would be more resistant to the acid, and especially if it doesn't contain oxygen or silicone. Verdict: alien metals should be considered immune to organic acid
@@horrificpleasantry9474 What about the futuristic marine armor? Even modern tactical armor isn't made of steel. So something used in a space colonization age - has to be far more advanced. And still, we clearly see in the Aliens movie that it cannot withstand the acid all the same.
@@HexenStar It's inappropriate to make the jump you're making. Yes Star Wars is futuristic. The tech of the Aliens franchise is VERY close to modern levels. It's barely a few hundred years in the future. Star Wars galaxy has had space faring civs for tens of thousands of years at least. Plus a precursor civ. Considering that the organic acid doesn't affect the alien carapace, then there are clearly compounds that are immune to it. I don't think it's reasonable to assume that it would dissolve anything it touches, there has to be limits.
Droid gunship wins. Phantoms only has one cannon and two plasma turrets, while the hmp gunship has 7 laser cannons and rockets. Both have shielding.hmp is a smaller target. A better match up would be Mandalorian vs Yautja. Both come from a warrior culture, both hunt alone, the Mandalorean hunts bounties, the Yautja hunts prey. Both are bound by a personal code of honor, both have roughly comparable technology.
@@wighensakgr Dutch didn't have that kind of firepower either yet he took down a Yautja using his ingenuity and resourcefulness and Dutch wouldn't be the only human to kill a Yautja, Harrigan did it with even less firepower in Predator 2. I think Mando will give a Yautja a run for his money.
@@gobanito Actually Dutch lost but the Predator kept playing games (dragging out the hunt). The black ops guy blasted it with the liquid nitrogen sprayer when it was about to kill him in the meat storage warehouse. The trooper directly punched his helmet not putting any stress on his joints or the rest of his body. The force of the punch would have gone directly from the helmet into the metal behind it that his head was against. That's why he didn't get a concussion or whiplash even though his helmet was getting pounded into solid metal.
So it comes down to how all Xenomorph match up comes down to, does Din see the Xeno coming? If yes, he wins cause he can shoot a single Xenomorph from a safe enough distance, if not then well... Xenomorphs are ambush hunters.
I feel like even with an ambush advantage, the xenomorph isn’t getting an easy win. They tend to aim for the chest or head with their tails when ambushing and in this case that just gives away the element of surprise. We have seen Din react quickly to unseen foes and I think he would be able to react and counter attack the xeno if it fails it’s first attack.
Yeah, first attack would fail because it would go for the head or chest. Then he could hit it point blank with the screaming bird things which would stagger it. Then blaster or beskar spear finishesnthe job.
Eck, did you forget the episode where Mando makes a town join up with a sand raider tribe to fight the dragon. The acid it was spewing was instant death, way more than the xenomorphs, and Mando's suit stood up to it easily from the looks of it.

And even with Mando over keep doing content on it whenever you like. I enjoy those videos with your passion. Heck talk about the behind the scenes series they do on Disney + about the show. Be nice to hear your thoughts on them.
There are a few things to consider: 1. The Xenomorph really isn't as impressive as it seems. Since we're using the context of the first two movies, we must remember that the humans it hunted in the first movie were scientists and engineers, not proefessional killers with years of experience or training. Worse, their weapons were cobbled together tools or civilian grade not meant to take on something like a Xenomorph. Compare this with even incompetently led Colonial Marines, where it took an entire hive to defeat a military platoon that was handicapped with bad intelligence and leadership. 2. Acid apparently becomes explosive if it touches something extremely hot, such as a hypothetical lightsaber. Because of this, shooting it with a blaster may cause a localized explosion of spluttering carapace and acid, which will either down the Xenomorph instantly or will shower Djarin in acid if he's too close. 3. Djarin's flamethrower is military grade. The flamethrowers used by the Colonial Marines is also military grade and effortlessly destroyed Xenomorphs. So, it's feasible that Djarin's flamethrower can do the same.
They used enough references to Aliens in Mando so this would be awesome. Does Beskar hold up against Alien blood? Also, wasn't there a fan edit of Vader vs Alien queen?
"Could Mando kill a Predator" could be more interesting. ;) I mean a marine with a rifle can kill a xenomorph so I would say it's a relatively easy win.
Xenomorphs really shine when they can take their prey unawares especially if they hunt in numbers. However against a battle hardened mandalorian equiped for most situations in combat? This be an interesting matchup.
The weapons of the Mandalorian are so numerous, he would definitely have the edge in a straight up fight. Vibroblade, Disintegrator Rifle, Blaster Pistol, Whistling Birds, Flamer, Beskar Spear. There's a lot he could do which would be very effective against the xenomorph. Add in the armor and jetpack, and basically I don't think the xenomorph stands even 1 chance in 10 if going after the Mandalorian in an open fight. With a surprise attack, that's a different story.
Are you high? Obviously he could kill a xenomorph. Three guys with sharp sticks have a decent chance at killing a xenomorph. A hillbilly with a rifle could kill a xenomorph.
Full Arsenal Mando wouldn’t have any trouble with a xeno, in this fight, the acid blood isn’t going to work in Bescar in this situation because Bescar is extremely hard to melt and as far as we know doesn’t rust, the only trouble Mando will have is if the Xeno goes for the soces between the armor and slash him there, but his reflexes definitely seem capable of at least holding back the Xeno, so it all comes down to what Din can use to kill the Xeno and I believe his blaster and definitely the spear will be capable of (at least eventually) breaking through its armor and killing it

I would like to see the Arbiter vs Luke Skywalker immediately after Endor.
You seem like you know a lot about the aliens, do you know where the battle scenes with the colonial marines come from in this video?
@@llamazing4326 It's from the teaser trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines. It's a good trailer. Here's the link. czcams.com/video/jBiwSzbPOzc/video.html
@@BetaSolution thanks I thought it looked really cool and wanted to check it out
Honestly xenomorphs wouldn't even be in the top 10 most dangerous creatures list in Star Wars there are so many more things that are more deadly in that galaxy.
Loved the video and am very excited to hear you are getting back to the oldies but goodies in terms of content.
However Mando has show really bad tracking skills and an over reliance of scanners so I'm not sure if he'll be able to win in any successful ambush at all
The carapace does one thing, as seen in AVP which makes logical sense: protects against xeno blood
I haven’t seen any of the alien movies but this makes me really wonder what hellish competition the aliens must have on their home world to have adapted into such ridiculously powerful beings
I remember an old comic went a little bit into what the xenomorph homeworld was like.
I doubt it the Kyrat Dragon sprewed acid as well and Din armor was unaffected by it when it exploded and he was covered in it.
@@horrificpleasantry9474 What about the futuristic marine armor?
Even modern tactical armor isn't made of steel. So something
used in a space colonization age - has to be far more advanced.
And still, we clearly see in the Aliens movie that it cannot
withstand the acid all the same.
These videos are the reasons I began watching the channel
Loved the video man, very much a throwback style of content for you! I always loved the VS. series
#AskEck Phantom(Halo) vs Droid Gunship(Star Wars)
Droid gunship wins. Phantoms only has one cannon and two plasma turrets, while the hmp gunship has 7 laser cannons and rockets. Both have shielding.hmp is a smaller target. Overall the phantom is a troop career which focuses on troop deployment while the hmp gunship is a gunship meant for deploying troops and supporting them with its many weapon systems.
@@eternalhowl8895 Well Yes, But realistically only the rockets and the heavy blaster could damage/destroy the Phantom
“Small arms fire won’t work” as I see a alien get cut down by a machine gun.
Machine guns are kinda different from most small arms though. They tend to have higher velocity and higher penetration.
Since when is the machine gun considered as a “small arms fire”??
@@CommanderShepard-wq3wo machine gun refers to any gun that is able to fire automatically. As it is controlled by a machine. The machine gun I am referring to is the assault rifle that one guy used in the back round clips.
Next episode could the Mandalorian kill a Predator. I missed these episodes so much so glad to see it coming back!
i'm EXTREMELY happy that you are going back to you're original content, while i really enjoy all of you're videos, i miss the old "who would win?" style and find myself rewatching them from time to time. cant wait to see what you think up!
Alright, death matches are back!
My take : Mando seems kinda slow/sluggish at times. Kinda doubt he would win. I’m sure Xeno could just tear his head or arms off. Really comes down to 2 things. 1 being if Mando can react fast enough before getting pounced on. 2nd depends on the battle ground rather if it’s more close quarters or wide open arena. Close quarters Xeno wins. More open and ranged area Mando wins
Glad to hear about your return to these series for 2021. Really enjoyed the video, mate
Lets be honest 1 accurate volly of whistling birds can take out anything even a jedi.
Depends on the strength in the force user, they could always just send it right back at him if their is enough space between them.
Yeah if they land, xenomorph can dodge a predators plasma caster which practically has auto aim.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 To be fair you are comparing two very different weapons
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 not the same thing as a seeking projectile, you can dodge all you want if it locks you arent getting away (unless you can jam the signal that is)
@@matteocesa9017 what about that horned fellah Mando fought in the prison episode? Not a single one hit, and a xeno certainly swifter than that.
Xeno are honestly a bit overrated, Mando would easily dispatch. I think the Star Wars weapons are too advanced.
Glad to see this content back. since your looking for suggestions for why don't you try the Wraith Hive Ship from Stargate vs the Yuuzhan Vong Worldship from Star Wars. Their both massive organic vessels that serve as centers of civilization, so it could make a great match up.
I dont know what either of these are but I am intrigued.
The image of the one guy getting his head attacked by the Xenomorph, gave me the humorous image in my head of one trying to attack Din in a similar manner and reacting like 'wtf, how do i open this thing?'
It's so awesome seeing a verses video again. If your really gonna do more then I'd love to see something with the Fang Fighter vs like a x wing or something.
Throughout the entire history of melee weapons the spear has been king.
Against humans. Not against the Xenomorph.
We need an eternal empire at their strongest vs the galactic empire at their strongest
i hope we can get more versus videos.
Love the return to the vs videos. I would love to see your take on 750 space marines from 40k against the pre schism high charity to see if they could take over the city. Along with maybe a pilot from the titanfall series against a spartan ll or lll. Just a few ideas, glad to see this series come back
Hey could you please do a vs between a phase 3 dark trooper and b3 ultra battle droid
Also great vid
@askeck
Add that on
A better match up would be Mandalorian vs Yautja.
Then it made a mistake because it was too intent on trolling him and forgot the trap it found might have a counter weight which Dutch dropped on him. So yes Dutch "won" because he killed the predator but only because of its hubris. It wasn't combat prowess, he lost both the battle of weapons and unarmed combat.
Now Harrigan beat it in a straight fight by skill and ingenuity using human and later the Predator"s own weapon. But even Harrigan had a brief assist or he would have lost. The black ops guy blasted it with the liquid nitrogen sprayer when it was about to kill him in the meat storage warehouse. Other than that it was all Harrigan, he did a much better job fighting than Dutch.
Mando vs Predator would be dependent on the Predator and whether he had prior knowledge about them. That and how much the Predator let him prepare.
@@zarynt1089 The Predator died at the hands of Dutch who survived. That by every definition of the word is considered losing to an opponent who lives to tell the tale. "Playing games" is exactly what the Yautja lives for he hunts for sport, "playing games" with an opponent he considers worthy enough to engage him in a battle of wits and strength. Having said that, I would like to see how Mando's beskar armor armor holds up against the Yautja's blaster weapon though.
So glad to see a Vs. Video again!!! I miss the starship Vs. Series you started with!
I subscribed for these match ups! I'm glad eck is making them.
Captain rex vs mando
Having watched Aliens I feel like this is a miss-match, you'd need a pack of them to take him down.
Its been about a year since I last watched this channel and suddenly its on my feed so I watch a few episodes and then after playing some alien isolation this comes out. Idk why I ever left :)
Given that blasters are supposed to have more kinetic output than any "slugthrower" (which can still kill xenomorphs), I think one good shot with the blaster would do it.
Mando is practically invincible in his armor.
Which is why he was incapacitated after a small explosion and on death's door at the end of season 1 right? He's not invincible and needs help now and again.
And honestly he got beaten by the Mudhorn. He was dead without Grogu....
Let's at least pay attention to the actual events.
@@zarynt1089 he didn’t have his full armor then lol
@@joshcollins8946 true but even his full armor has connection points at the joints so he's still not 100% covered.
I still say getting hit by the Mud Horn is different than getting hit by the dark trooper. Size impact damage vs direct force against a specific point of his armor.
According to the transcribed conversation at the end of the Colonial Marines Technical Manual, the Xeno is a fluoride-based life form.
Who would win in a Gordon Freeman vs Xenomorph battle?
In short: yes
Now it would be cool to see him fight Necromorphs from the dead space trilogy 😉. Seeing him team up with Isaac Clarke lol 😆
He would decimate the necros, specially with his vibroblade, arm flamethrowers and beskar spear.

Hey Eck I saw your back and forth on Twitter and I agree with you. Keep posting positive content. The best thing about your videos is that even if you dislike something you talk about it in a reasonable manner which I feel too many people can't seem to do these days. And even with Mando over keep doing content on it whenever you like. I enjoy those videos with your passion. Heck talk about the behind the scenes series they do on Disney + about the show. Be nice to hear your thoughts on them.
Eck: Don’t worry fans, I will stop focusing on the mandalorian with S2 over.
Also Eck: Loophole MF!
There are a few things to consider:
Love your videos! Would you be willing to do one on the full history on the darksaber? Thanks!
Mando vs the predator
They used enough references to Aliens in Mando so this would be awesome. Does Beskar hold up against Alien blood?
Also, wasn't there a fan edit of Vader vs Alien queen?

The disruption rifle really would be an incredibly unfair advantage for someone already as stacked as Din

Din Djaren beats the xenomorph easy, real question is if he can take down a Predator #askeck
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
I'm seeing this becoming a new series, like starship VS. just with Mando against every single star wars creature, ship and planet.
Blasters should make short work of a Xenomorph. The beskar spear is fine and all, but the darksaber can cut and cauterize at the same time.
The Beskar plot armor will protect Mandalorian so no way the Alien will win.
Imperial Star Destroyer Vs. Goa’uld Ha’tak (Stargate SG-1)
Mando almost got killed by a blurrg. So... I’m gonna have to say a xenomorph would tear him to pieces.

Are you high? Obviously he could kill a xenomorph. Three guys with sharp sticks have a decent chance at killing a xenomorph. A hillbilly with a rifle could kill a xenomorph.
@@myduckisonqauck7227 a very dedicated duck could kill a xenomorph
Full Arsenal Mando wouldn’t have any trouble with a xeno, in this fight, the acid blood isn’t going to work in Bescar in this situation because Bescar is extremely hard to melt and as far as we know doesn’t rust, the only trouble Mando will have is if the Xeno goes for the soces between the armor and slash him there, but his reflexes definitely seem capable of at least holding back the Xeno, so it all comes down to what Din can use to kill the Xeno and I believe his blaster and definitely the spear will be capable of (at least eventually) breaking through its armor and killing it
Of course he can kill a xeno but it won't be easy.
