A few things to consider in a defense of Coruscant: 1. The republics military capabilities are vastly dwarfed by civilian and local government forces that we don't see much of in the movies. There are several other major worlds in within hours of Coruscant also that would likely come to Coruscants defense. 2. Coruscant is protected by a powerful planetary shield that would presumably withstand several fully charged blasts from the second death star had it been completed, though it's actual power isn't discussed in Cannon that I'm aware of. I don't think the Mothership is equipped with anything that would break through it quickly. 3. Star Wars ships are known to to be vulnerable to EM attacks such as the Ion Canons in Empire Strikes Back, but can often recover quickly from such EM attacks. While the Motherships EM Pulse is probably vastly more powerful then those Ion Cannons, it's effect is dispersed in all directions. Further, Star Wars craft are regularly seen operating near stars and inside nebulae and various other cosmic phenomena. A Galaxy is full of far more powerful EM fields and effects then a ship the size of the alien mothership might have generated in resurgence, and I find it difficult to believe that ships in Star Wars would be entirely unprepared for such a pulse. 4. The Alien mothership could ram Coruscant if they were determined. It's difficult to say how the Planetary shield would hold up to that, since it's probably not really designed for things the size of Earths moon or a dwarf planet, but assuming the ship managed to ram Coruscant the resulting earthquake would devastate the comparatively weak city structures. Coruscant relies on the ability to control and subdue the planets natural tectonic activity.
1. Even if the republic has military capabilities. How can it match the aliens in ID if the harvester ship came not just one but 6 or more harvester ships? Remember, the size of the alien harvester ship itself is 4,828 KM. 2. Are you certain that the planetary shields in coruscant can withstand a continuous drill beam coming from the alien harvester ship? The planetary shield itself was only made to withstand the firepower of capital ships. Which only shoots a blast of energy weapon. How can you sure that the planetary shields could withstand a continuous energy beam? 3. Even if they manage to recover to EM attacks. Before they could even recover. They would be attacked by swarms of alien enemy fighters. 4. Let's not forget the fact that the planet coruscant itself is a layers of cities piled on top of each other. A drill beam coming from the alien harvester ship is more powerful enough to penetrate the surface of the planet with no difficulties at all.
Palpatine can tell time so he would know before any of this happened and really could’ve bumped up the defenses of the planet and also he could’ve had many many more fleets nearby waiting
Don't even need to get that detailed. Just call upon the bullshit powers of Star Wars Legends and use a collective Force Push to send the mothership into a star. A dozen Jedi Knights/Padawans managed to fling a whole Imperial task force not just out of the Yavin system, but so far away from it that Daala couldn't even locate them. Not hard to imagine that 10,000 Jedi doing the same thing would be able to push even the mothership away.
With the Independence Day ship tanking a single nuke, I always though it would be funny to swap to the other side and have one of the aliens report that their shield power has been reduced to like 1%. "We can't take another hit like that!"
Not to mention it must've been a low-yeid tactical nuke. If an alien ship survives one, your not using a bigger yeid & more of them. Better yet. Why not fly pass the shield, helicopters had no problem at low speeds & simply attach it to the hull then daddy go boom boom. Leaving a massive vaporize hole wherever you put it, damaging critical structures to keep it in the air or outright destroy it as the shields would contain the blastwaves inside before the shield generator fails.
Apparently in the novel, the nuke nearly destroyed their shields and they could not have survived another one. If the president ordered a second strike, they could have wrapped Houston up pretty easily
Doom Guy more like "tell Tarkin (in the Death Star) he may fire when ready."--"DO IT!" Then reaches out and starts crushing enemy ships with The Force in true high level Force user form

Obi-Wan doesn't need to be on the high ground, the high ground just needs to exist within the battle; Obi-Wan knows that when he has the low ground, he really has the high ground, from a certain point of view. Look at his battle record: Maul: Has low ground, wins Dooku: No high ground, loses Dooku rematch: No high ground, loses Greivous: Has low ground, wins Vader: Has high ground, wins Vader rematch: No high ground, loses Obi-Wan with the high/low ground is canonically the most powerful Jedi. This is fact. Had Yoda not denied his request to battle The Senate with typical Jedi arrogance, Obi-Wan could have defeated Palpatine in the Senate building, which housed a variety of different altitudes; this was designed so that the Chancellor could always have the moral high ground in political debates. But Obi-wan didn't fight The Senate, and Yoda soon learned that you can't cleave the Sheev in a normal 1v1. Yoda is shorter than virtually every other fighter, which gives him a permanent low-ground disadvantage; however, his saber-fighting style utilizes a flipping-heavy technique in order to negate this weakness for a temporary window. You'll notice that, as he falls from the central podium in The Senate's building, he immediately retreats, knowing that he can never hold the high ground in this duel. You'll also notice that, while training Luke, he rides on him like a mount, to gain the intellectual high ground and accelerate Luke's training. Obi-Wan's defensive Form III lightsaber style synergizes with his careful military maneuvers; as he only strikes when prepared, he can always hold the strategic high ground. You'll come to realize that Commander Cody's artillery strike failed against Obi-Wan, when hundreds of Jedi were killed in similar attacks. Cody failed to grasp the strategic situation, as the Jedi Master's elevation was superior to his by hundreds of meters, making him virtually unkillable. Had Cody taken his time and engaged the Jedi on even terrain, he could have possibly succeeded. Obi-Wan then retreated under the surface of the lake, so that he could maintain the topographical low/high ground. In RotS, you'll notice that all the Jedi killed were on level ground with the clones, thereby assuring their demise. As we all know, spinning is a good trick. However, only the Chosen one can spin outside of a starfighter. Palpatine tried spinning, but he lost due to this technique (but this was intentional, as losing gave him the emotional high ground when Anakin arrived). The reason for this is that spinning provides a yin-yang approach to combat (based in Eastern philosophy on balance), giving the spinner the high ground from above and below. Only the Chosen One can master the spin, as it is their destiny to maintain balance in the universe. This is why Obi-Wan was so emotional after defeating Vader on Mustafar; he expected to lose the high ground to the spin, but Anakin fell to the dark side and could no longer use his signature trick, becoming the very thing he swore to destroy. Anakin doesn't hate sand for the reasons he told Padme; all Jedi hate sand, as the battlefield can rapidly change between low and high ground on multiple vectors, so your perspective must be from a certain three-dimensional point of view in order to comprehend who holds the high ground. This is the only reason why Obi-Wan killed Maul in Rebels. This is also why Obi-Wan hates flying; there is no gravity in space, therefore there is no high or low ground from any frame of reference (This also negates the spinning trick.) It took the Tusken Raiders years of conflict against Old Ben Kenobi to grasp his superiority in terrain advantage, as you see them visibly flee in ANH when they realize he holds the low (inverse-high) ground. Additionally, Obi-Wan's victory in the cantina against the drunkard was assured, as he held the temperamental high ground, his actions more calculated and well-thought than the alcoholic, who was so uncivilized. In ANH, Vader proves his newfound mastery by engaging Obi on perfectly even ground. However, Obi-Wan intentionally sacrifices himself on the Death Star, so that he could train Luke from a higher plane of existence, thereby giving him the metaphysical high ground. Why was Vader so invested in the construction and maintenance of the Death Star? Because he knows Obi-wan can't have the high ground if there's no ground left. As seen through the events of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan was known to be on friendly terms with Senator Organa, whose homeworld held large quantities of mountainous terrain, the perfect habitat for a Jedi Master. Grand Moff Tarkin was already in position to destroy Alderaan as a first target, as the distance from Scarif to Alderaan was too vast to reach between the escape and recapture of the Tantive IV, even at 1.0 lightspeed. Alderaan had been the initial target all along, as Obi-Wan with the high ground was the primary threat to the Death Star. How? Because a moon-sized space station would have some form of gravitational pull, thereby negating Obi-Wan's zero-gravity weakness; Obi-Wan with the perpetual high-ground in a low-orbit starfighter would easily be able to fire proton torpedoes through a ventilation shaft, although the Empire was uncertain of the specific weakness of the Death Star planned by Galen Erso (who was a good friend). In Return of the Jedi, you can see that the Throne Room contains a variety of different altitudes; Palpatine placed these there to ensure Vader's defeat. However, Sheev failed to realize that his weakness was no ground, and should have covered that useless gaping pit which does nothing. A common misconception is the idea of a 'prostrate position' version of the high ground, wherein Obi-Wan lies flat on his back, giving him tactical superiority from his point of view. However, this strategy is futile, as for the high ground to come into effect, there must be a differential between parties on both the x-axis and y-axis to a moderately significant variation from both absolutes (Angles only a Sith would deal in). For Obi-Wan's high ground powers to have full effect, he must stand between 15 and 75 degrees (π/12 to 5π/12 radians) diagonal from his opponent(s) on any quadrant of the trigonometric circle. In conclusion, Obi-wan abuses spatial relativity and Taoist doctrine in order to always invoke his high-ground powers.
how much would it help? I don't know much about the shield, but if it's powerful enough to shield an entire planet, then it could definitely survive the EMP (though possibly not the mining laser). It could definitely give Coruscant a bigger chance!
they still got beat by humans with less advanced weapons and tech and in some cases tech based off their own stuff, star wars would win hands down, the massive fleets would wittle down the shields, plus the capital of the galaxy being under attack would be huge news the planetary shields would be the first thing up to hold them at bay while surface to space cannons fire and orbital defense satellites star bases and fleets engage and then the entire republic navy responding with in a few hours. that mother ship is toast
The fact that humans were able to reverse engineer the Alien technology seems to indicate for me that it is actually quite primitive. (give humans from 1800 a smart phone, there is no chance they are able to reverse engineer anything from it, give them a nuclear reactor and everybody trying dies from a mysterious sickness)
@Adam Anderson I think it wouldn't take as long as you think to jumpstart technology if they had a smartphone to study. It only took 200 years to develop the smart phone from scratch. 50 is pretty reasonable already knowing where the end state will be. Electricity was known, so the concept is there. Much of the time would be spent trying to develop the necessary infrastructure to build miniaturized circuits.
that's only because they were able to access everything as all the city destroyers were crashed on the ground and they had the roswell craft so they already had a headstart
To the same point. They had 20 years to figure it out. And they already had a head start with the Fighter they already had from back in the 50’s, so they kinda already had an idea of what they were running with. But the energy they run on is Nuclear Fusion and we already had Nuclear Fission figured out (if I remember right from irl) so it was also a matter of figuring out. But also look at IRL, in 2020, humanity came together to search for a vaccine for COVID and we figured it out really quickly. Making the phrase “2 heads are better than 1” really true.
Coruscant's best chance comes from the fact that that queen's minions are "designed" to be mind-controlled. The Jedi (or Palpatine) would find a way to exploit this to generate a key weakness, much like Picard did vs the Borg.
Apparently the mothership in the first film was "Grown" off of the Harvester ship in the sequel and sent to subdue Earth. It was sort of a "Yea, go take care of those guys ahead of me while I do this other, more important stuff." kind of situation.
The problem is Palpatine and the Jedi have a very high probability of predicting the incoming ship and bring ridiculous amounts of superweapons to Coruscant. Also, the war with the CIS may have been stalled or postponed by Palpatine once he sense the damned aliens.
@Gen. JFH well we don t know if they are prepared for thay, also we don't know if the death star firepower is just enough to destroy planets it might be more but because is only one beam it can only destroy one objective
Here are some suggestions: -Could the Star Wars Galaxy survive a Zerg infestation? -Protoss Golden Armada vs Rebel Fleet (Endor or Scariff) -Terran Army vs Galactic Empire (Battle of Endor)
Guys, to be honest I would think it would be really hard to do match ups between universes. We don't know how much stronger weapons are in Star wars than other stories. Who knows, one shot from a turbo laser could completely decimate a ship from another universe, who knows...
The Jedi could use the force and choke out the queen alien. Or turn off all the equipment with their minds. If Jeff Goldblum can hack the alien network, with a 1990s laptop, R2 can hack it. No way the republic loses
You forget that the virus was created by David's laptop, but filtered into the mothership by his (and Capt. Hiller's) alien craft's datalink to said mothership.
Well the jedi don’t use force choke. Also if the jedi could do that, then how come they can’t do it in other scenarios? Could anakin and obi-wan not do that to grievous before showing up? You clearly have to be either in vicinity or seeing them directly to choke them (as seen by vader during empire strikes back). Or else nothing would be a threat. A force user could just choke every ship commander in existence.
I think Coruscant would have won easily. I mean an Imperial Star Destroyer can destroy the entire surface of a planet in a matter of hours with it's turbolaser, which is very similar to the Alien's own weapon. Venators would be less powerful, but Base Delta Zero was made during the Republic if i recall correctly. Their lasers are powerful and their ships can usually take a few hits from them before going down.I see the same thing Im pretty sure they would have prepared for EMPs as well, the Harvesters would not be the first ones to attempt such a thing. Turbolasers range from 3 megatons to 200 gigatons.Different sources say other things, but SW lasers can vaporize metal and get past their own deflector shields.Im sure the Harvesters dont have that much powerful deflector shields. Star Wars has their own powerful shields, and If I remember correctly Coruscant has one too. They might loose some ships, but I honestly think they'd do better than this video says they would. They arent Earth, they have powerful technology themselves and could do the same thing the Harvesters did to Earth,if not better(If they wanted to destroy the surface of Earth,a small fleet of Venators could do that from orbit in a matter of hours. It took the Harvesters a few days to move around.)
Unfortunately, Coruscant does not have a shield, it was mentioned in the old EU but since thats not canon anymore.... Anyway, I agree that SW turbolasers are pretty fucking powerful, a medium sized turbolaser bolt is able to easily vaporize asteroids mainly consisting of iron and some rock that have a size range of 60 - 100m in diameter ( sources: Star Wars episode 5 ) now, sure those are ISD's, but you have to consider that these began to be developed before the clone war ended, so you can say that medium sized turbolasers in republic era could pull that off aswell and venators were armed with 2 medium dual turbolaser batteries and 8 (yes fucking 8) heavy turbolaser batteries aswell as 4 proton torpedo tubes (which were designed to bypass enemy shields to inflict direct damage on the hulls). Also each Venator had onboard starfighters as support which consisted of 36 ARC-170 starfighters, which all had laser cannons that could punch through capital ship hulls aswell as its own proton torpedo launchers, aswell as 192 V-Wing Starfighters with rapidfire laser cannons. I'd say the republic has it favourable in this situation. We dont even know if EMP's actually would work on the technology of the star wars universe, as far as I know, its not even based on circuitry and more on crystaline systems.
A single concentrated cannon from independence day was enough to blow an entire city into ash. An entire city... the harvestors wouldve pierced all the fleets just like they did with ESD satellites. Now keeping in mind that the independence day weapons could destroy entire cities like the death star, when the humans reversed engineered the same weapon against the motherships shield. It did 0 damage towards their the harvestors shields. The scenario between star wars and independence day is like comparing a poodle against an aircraft carrier.
One problem with that there were no star destroyers in orbit and those ships that were would most likely have weaker weapons on them. Second the ship has it's own defence screen and the hull armour is most likely as thick if not more so than a star destroyers.
This ^ That would be very cool to see. But we don't know a whole lot about the combine. We know things about overwatch soldiers and their synths. But that's (almost) about it. They are so huge and powerful we probably haven't seen 90% of the combine's arsenal. What about earth's combine forces versus the empire without spaceships.
One vs one starship battle list 1) Harrower class Dreadnaught vs Venator Star Destroyer 2) Warlock class Destroyer, Babylon 5 vs UNSC cruiser 3) Resurgent class Battlecruiser vs Executor class Super Star Destroyer 4) Starfury vs Tie Fighter 5) Shadow vessel vs Imperial Star Destroyer 6) Eternal Empire alien Battlecruiser vs MC-80 cruiser 7) Behemoth class Battlecruiser vs Victory Star Destroyer 8) Imperial Raider class Corvette vs Rebel CR-90 Corellian Corvette
You really think Star Wars tech is vulnerable to EMP? I thought the were only disabled by ion weapons. How would it have played out if the EMP did nothing?
toomdog it is, technically the clones did deploy a emp, which also acted sorta as a nuke, but still they did use a emp and the droids where effected and yeah, why wouldn't the republic's stuff would?
If size doesn't matter to the force, could all the Jedi move the ship away from coruscant? I'm no lore expert but I think it would be possible if every force-sensitive person there helped.
I feel if the Republic had a Death Star type superweapon, or some knowledge that the attack was coming, they may be able to build a decently sized defence. I feel like while the Deathstar might be able to destroy the mother ship, it will also take a massive amount of time to pierce the shields and even then, the Harvester's EMP might take it offline before they can begin preparing to fire. Great Video btw.
ODST Vs Arc troopers or Delta Squad, sure. Not Noble team. [They] are Spartans and would rout the clones. I will admit Clone armor is probably actually capable of stopping Bullets, but the impact would still be like being hit with a 200lb spear traveling 100mph. They would still be battered [to] death if not perforated.
Harvestor leader: "Hey I have an idea, since we lost a big ship, let's bring in a BIGGER ship to wreck the humans 20 stinking years from now!" Meanwhile with Palpatine: "Hmm.... this sounds familiar but it isn't."
A few things left out here for Independence Day Aliens. 1. In the Book, during the 2nd Invasion they rammed through the moon instead of scraping over it. 2. In serious battles, they bring more than 1 Queen to fight. The AI Aliens state and show this and their civilization fought 3 Harvester Queens with the ship that size.
I think you should do something weird, chose any ship, and both sides have the exact same ship. The catch is that the crews are different, such as Old Republic vs the Empire, or Rebels Vs even the Covenant. Star wars factions, of course will be able to use force users associated with the faction. (8th try)
Imo I think with 2,000 venators they could just shred the mothership with the sheer amount of turbolasers and not to mention the other defenses coruscant has should be able to take it down
Assuming most of them weren't taken down by the EMP. As the Malevolent showed, Republic warships were susceptible to massive ion pulses. The EMP might be just as effective.
A single Independence Day shipped casually shrugged off a nuclear bomb. This was just a component of the mother ship in the first movie, which is smaller than the one used here which is the size of a continent. Their shields are too powerful and their size is too massive. Frankly even if the EMP did NOT work, it could still be a squash. Literally the mother ship could just crash through them and land on the planet. It would be especially devastating if the aliens used an emp on Coruscant itself, given the entire planet is a city.
still, if you know as much about star wars as me you would know that a venator can take a beating, but not enough to take out the mother ship, but look at my comment and thats what i think would happen.
Titans win as they have energy shields, mobility, and tactical flexibility superior to the AT-ST. The Mammoth's mini MAC is probably powerful enough to seriously hurt starships.
In this scenario, I think Coruscant could survive the Harvesters, because, as seen in all Star Wars battles, the people of Coruscant would call in reinforcements to aid them and that those reinforcements would be from all of the thousands of planets in the galaxy... :-)
Excellent video as always, I'd like to see how an Independence Day Alien invasion would go against Earth in the Star Trek universe at the time of Star Trek Voyager, I remember an episode of Voyager where they destroyed a Borg ship by beaming a bomb on board, if they can get through the motherships sheilds then the fight would be over pretty quickly, I'd like to hear your opinion though.
@@smilingearth5181 harvester ships are pretty much invincible. And Queen will not come out this time because Vong doesn't have anything that she wants( she was going to the human base because of some kind of talking ball ).
The Harvesters would be absolutely F%%@ against the Yuzan Vong! The Jedi had to team up with the Sith to finally defeat them! If this was a few decades later, they may use Starkiller Base or Grandmaster Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars Expanded Universe! He could bring down whole StarDestroyers BY HIMSELF! Or even The Ones from Mortis. Man, if you wanted to go really out there, if Abeloth decided to show herself around that time, the Harvesters would have NO CHANCE! It's really far fetched but it's just a little 'what if?'.
It's possible that those with the force would be able to disrupt the queens telepathy in some way, preventing her from talking to the others. If they could do this even for a short while they might stand a 50/50 chance of winning.
The Dalek Empire vs The Galactic Empire. Or, could the Imperial fleet at Endor Invade/destroy Gallifrey. (And yes, I'm going to keep commenting this until he does it!)
Well it's kinda dumb, dude. The Time Lords have forces numbering in the "billions of billions" airing to the show and wouldn't hesitate to squash a butterfly and prevent all of Imperial history to achieve victory. They wouldn't win; the Imperials wouldn't exist to fight.
1. Palpetine and Dooku could combine their powers to control the force storm. 2. Even if it can't completely destroy the mothership, it could probably destroy like the half of it. After it's ripped up it will be destroyed by the republic military easily. Also the combined Power of the whole Jedi Order + Palpetine and Dooku is something the Aliens can't do anything against. 3. If the Force users can sense the Queen (which will probably happen seconds after if not before the mothership arrives) they only have to get to see the queen. If they see the queen they could simply force choke the queen to death, stop her heart or kill the queen with force lightning. The Queen is no force user -> has no force shield -> can be kill with things like that without any difficulty. Only one force user has to have eye contact to kill the queen.
1. Even if both of them combine their powers to produce a force storm. It wouldn't be enough to reach the alien harvester ship. And just so you know. The alien harvester ship has shields that is more powerful than the death star. 2. How can the combine power of the republic military ships can penetrate the shields of the Harvester ship if their weapons isn't made against super class vessels? Even if both the jedi order and palpatine + dooku combine their powers. Before they could charge up their abilities. It would've been attacked by the aliens drill beam. 3. LOL! How can the abilities of a force user use a force choke the queen inside her ship with a shield? If the shields were that easily to penetrate by the force. Then how come the jedi are having a hard time using a force choke to remove one components(Such as shield generators) inside the destroyer droid of the trade federation?
During the clone war, one of the weapons used by both side were chemical weapons warhead strong enough to wipe a planet. All cap ship had them. Also, the mothership is really slow in its approach, the 20 or so Golan batteries and long-range attacks from the cruisers would devastate it.
Force storm not powerful enough??? U know it's Canon that the biggest force storms can nearly destroy planets and Sidious WAS the MASTER of this force power
Coruscant has this in the bag. If the clone fleet isn't enough, they could always fly obi wan over the ship to attack with the high ground, and if that doesn't work there's always the sheev spin which should be enough to even catch the alien queen off guard.
Mace Windu uses his shatterpoint ability to find the weaknesses. Then they disrupt the telepathic communication between the aliens. After that, the jedi can easily pick off the star fighters and deploy their pilots to infiltrate the ship. Then they do the hero thing and win
Three major issues with your projected conclusion, Eckhart. 1. Star Wars has EMP type weapons. Standard shielding protects against them just as it does lasers and torpedoes. Additionally, vessels in that universe are designed to be able to recover from being subjected to these weapons. Assuming that the EMP does overwhelm the shielding of the defense fleet, they're still going to be able to recover relatively quickly and get back into the fight. The EMP wouldn't be permanent, more like a technological stun effect. The mothership would have to conventionally engage and destroy the defense fleet, otherwise they'd just keep up their barrage and eventually wear it down. 2. Coruscant has a planetary defense shield. Planetary defense shields cover the entirety of a planet's surface, and weapons on the friendly side of the shield are able to fire through it without a problem. The mothership may be large, but Coruscant's shield is run by the power grid of an entire planet. There's just no comparison in terms of output. The mothership hasn't got the power to punch through. Coruscant itself could simply pummel the mothership with turbolaser fire with impunity unless the harvesters got creative. 3. Coruscant isn't fighting alone. Due to the previous two points, the harvesters aren't going to be able to win this one quickly. Other planets are going to find out nearly instantly due to the holonet, and will respond in force. Corellian ships will likely be among the first and most powerful to show up, and will be nearly as numerous as Coruscant's own defense fleet. The more time passes, the more republic forces show up to the fight, and the smaller the harvesters' chances for success get. 4.One ship can't fight off an entire galaxy. Even if the harvesters successfully take out Coruscant, they're still public enemy number one for the Star Wars galaxy. Nobody is going to let them go. Sooner or later, the mothership will be worn down and destroyed. Picking a fight with the Republic just isn't a good idea, even for Mandalorians.
Great job on this video. I've been watching your others and I think it would be interesting to see the Independence Day Aliens vs. The Mass Effect Reapers as I think they are both very equally overpowered. I don't know how this would work since I don't know if there's any sort of "Home Planet" Maybe they're both trying to conquer the same galaxy and bump in to each other? Maybe they're both going after the same planet? I think this would be an interesting video. P.S. Keep doing what you're doing!
What I like to think about more, is dropping one Thing (from the Carpenter movie) or one Xenomorph Queen facehugger in the lower reaches of Coruscant. In either case, there would be a massive, quite possibly unstoppable infection before anyone even noticed there was something going on. They may be able to stop a Xenomorph invasion with significant losses, because you can kill a Xenomorph, but even a "dead" Thing can still infect people, I don't think they would be able to do anything about that. I think The Thing infection would reach critical mass down in the lower reaches before anyone could do anything about it. Eventually, the entire planet would have to be quarantined and possibly sterilized from orbit.
I think the republic would have no problem winning. They just send 2 jedi aboard the mothership, and since they would be the protagonists in this scenario, they would find some unknown secret weak spot at the last second that they use to blow up the entire thing.
This scenario relies too heavily on The Harvesters being able to arrive to Coruscant undetected. In most likelihood they will be discovered at least halfway through, and be pummeled by an increasing number of warships until their shields near failure and they are forced to retreat.
You said the motherships EMP would wreck a lot of the republic fleet...I don't think Starwars ships run on electricity so wouldn't the EMP like not even affect them?
do the odsts drop into battle in this situation or is like a they are just there because seeing a burning pod hit the ground and some guy pop out is honestly part of the tactic and it's important psychologically
the force storm might work in 2 ways 1) he calls upon ALL the dark side practicers to lend him their power so he can control the force storm and obliterate the mothership 2) Palpatine with great reluctance reveals himself as the sith lord or pretends to be an apprentice to a deceased plagueis still and summons the storm and controls with the help of several thousand strong Jedi knights, masters, and even younglings that are strong enough in the force
Everyone gangsta till the Open Circle Fleet reinforces the Coruscant Defense Fleet, bringing with it thousands of Venators, Tectors, Imperators and Victory’s and maybe a Mandator and a Praetor or twelve.
@@sumreensultana1860 nah i bet 1000% death star would win the motherships is very very wide and big and its very perfect target for death star i mean use your brain man
Just saw this video. I think this fight really comes down to two things. One is how strong the turbolasers are vs the hull armor of the Harvester ship. Two the republic has defenses vs EMP based attacks and whether or not they would be able to hold up to the blast but most of the star war systems are able to get back up after such an attack and resume what they were doing. I know wrong time period but easiest reference the rebels hit star destroyers with such a weapon so that type of technology would not be new. Now that being said the planets in star wars are usually defended by star fighters not capital ships. So I don't think with all the ships the harvester ship would be able to launch would stand much of a chance due to the large area the star fighters could launch from. The Harvester ship also has to land on the planet were a large garrison of clone troopers and Vehicles could simply land, grapple, or simply drive (not sure if you can drive on to it but they do have hover cars so...) on to the ship. i think the only real thing the Harvester ship has is surprise and how quickly they can get it done, while the republic just needs to delay until enough ship can arrive and overwhelm the Harvester ship.
Old Republic Wins, the Late High Republic was converted into Galactic Empire before the militarization process achieves KOTOR era levels of Militarization
I rekon Star Wars probably has a solution to EMP and nuke based side effects given their space tech is mature by thousands of years, I bet EMP waves are even the less of a concern (see *not s concern at all) for Star Wars than they are for the Harvesters who must also have fixed the issue. I also agree with others who point out the relative power levels of Star Wars ships vs the Harvesters likely power levels kinda implies more an equal footing rather than the Harvesters being waay more powerful, If ole Palpy or the Jedi plus Palpatine wished to create some sort of force related storm or doo daa in the heart of the Harvester vessel or someone did a force choke at range like Vader could at range the Harvesters would run along home all the same - with zero reason to think any amount of shielding would save them - perused ofc by the largest fleet of Star Wars vessels ever seen outside of my imagination. I can almost hear the sound of someone revving up the engines on a death star prototype or something.
Rebus Forever star wars has no answer for emp technology. I have seen all of the movies and the clone wars series when ever emp tech is used there is no actually defense against emps
Well, yes and no. Today it is possible to negate the effects of emp with sufficient preparation, we can shield against emp damage with current tech, I again doubt that a target of sufficient importance wouldn't be somewhat prepared to deal with such a basic attack. It seems from having a read about cannon uses of emp folks in universe have short range weapons mostly used on an anti personnel level because cap ships and anything shielded is also fine, at least so far as I've read since checking your comment.
haha, I don't think so. I think I would take legends material to destroy a circulat shaped ship with a diameter of 5000 km. The area of a 2D circle with radius 2500 would be 1.96 times 1000000 kilometers squared, and that's not even accounting for volume. I think if every Death Star (1 and 2) All Eclipse class SSDs (2 i think?) all Sovereign class SSDs (1 or 2? idk) all fired on the mothership with a maximum setting charge from the Galaxy Gun it may be possible.
And it can also be destroyed by a single shot to its main reactors. I'd say shelf the Death Star and bust out the Super Star Destroyers. Besides, like the Death Star, the Mothership can also destroy planets. It's a race against time in this case, and the Empire could win IF it moves quickly enough.
Harry Bröhan In single combat, or with fleets? Because single combat is an easy win for Trench, because really... Peter Cushing vs a nearly indestructible manspider-cyborg. It's a no brainer. A fleet battle of course, would be awesome.
technically it was a ship, it traveled in hyperspace, and didn't orbit planets. It was part of the IMperial force but this was old republic before Death star was created.
Oh totally but I think the mothership in the second movie would give them a challenge. But they'd probably pull what they did with the World Engine and just crash an entire space marine chapter into it lol.
Rulingmoss 55 trillions?? Hahaha real funny, the imperial navy would eat em for breakfast and even if that mothership would take out a few planets the empire wouldn't give two shits
Nope the harvesters with their mothership will win. Remember a city destroyer can easily tank a nuke so if u scale that up the mothership itself could quite easily tank something planetary destruction like death star or starkiller base. Really i think ppl forget how strong the sheild of the mothership could actually be. NOT THE MOTHERSHIP FROM 1998. FROM 2016. SOO...
Well, in the end, the Starkiller Base is just a planet that shoots powerful lasers. It's not really mobile and all it can hit are planets that cannot dodge. The Aliens look at them and see good it shoots from that hole so let us set the ship on the other side. R.I.P What brings all this power when you are so mobile like a planet? Nothing, too much space in the universe. The just evade the direction of the lasers and laugh while the suck out the juice of the base
S. P. H. A (self propelled heavy artillery) seen at the first invasion of Geonosis in "attack of the clones" could in theory focus fire on the mother ship to open it's Shields for a number of surgical options to gain the advantage. I think you give the harvesters too much credit
Just woke up, saw this, clicked on it and immediately liked it! Amazing video, keep up the good work! As an idea, do the Federation fleet of the Battle of Wolf 359 in Star Trek vs. the Rebel fleet at Endor. I do not honestly know who would win but always wanted to know as I am a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars. Thanks in advance! :-)
Your analysis is, as always, fun and fair-mnded. I'd like to suggest a match up between a star destroyer (your choice of model) and the Andromeda Ascendant from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. I'd actually say a High Guard ship in Andromeda's class, so you don't have to deal with personalities. I'm also curious of your ideas for a star destroyer vs a large Shadow crab (Babylon 5), a Peacekeeper Command Carrier (Farscape), the Sontaran warship from the Doctor Who episode "The Sontaran Stratigem," and General Zod's ship from "Man of Steel." I'm curious how Kryptonian soldiers who can be hurt or killed by a modern nuclear bomb would stand up to imperial firepower,
In Star Wars: Darksaber, a couple Jedi and 20 apprentices managed to use the force to push 17 imperial 2 class star destroyers to the edge of the Yavin system with all the Jedi on Coruscant, they might be able to harness the powers and force push the ship away from the planet and injure enough harvesters to launch a counter attack.
Nuclear Walnut royal guard wil definitely win because they had so much training that they could turn the tide of any battle and in legends some imperial warlords were afraid of them
Did the Republic install the double layered planetary shields or was that in the Imperial era? If they are in place I think that could be a deciding factor.
Those rapid fire artillery weapons the mothership used to take out Earth's new defense turrets are on par with the main weapon of a City Destroyer, as we see when it shoots once at the Moon base. Considering the ability for this weapon system to also rapidly engage multiple targets, I think even without the EMP, the Mothership could destroy 2k venators long before the Venators could break through the Mothership's shield.
John O'Connor I'd have to say the UNSC would win this. They have a much more sophisticated navy, a more disciplined and equally well supplied ground force, and the SPARTANs. They can't counter Spartans.
Could a starship troopers federation fleet invade courasant yes I know I keep asking for it but I'm interested in seeing how strong the starship troopers universe is compared to others that you featured on this show

A few things to consider in a defense of Coruscant:
Don't forget that force users can at
times pull ships out of orbit and likely can do the reverse with ease.
Palpatine can tell time so he would know before any of this happened and really could’ve bumped up the defenses of the planet and also he could’ve had many many more fleets nearby waiting
holy fuck this is a long answer
*shield at one percent* Harvester ship “let’s get this bread motherfucker”
“Hold on, everyone chill out… maybe… they don’t know that?”
Apparently in the novel, the nuke nearly destroyed their shields and they could not have survived another one. If the president ordered a second strike, they could have wrapped Houston up pretty easily
Palpatine: sees harvester ship, GET ME EVERY VENATOR IN THE GALACTIC CORE
Doom Guy more like "tell Tarkin (in the Death Star) he may fire when ready."--"DO IT!" Then reaches out and starts crushing enemy ships with The Force in true high level Force user form

Your forgetting that obi wan is there and he has the high ground so it’s a automatic win
they are in space they have the super highground
@@fordo5361 only obi wan can effectively use the high ground
Obi-Wan doesn't need to be on the high ground, the high ground just needs to exist within the battle; Obi-Wan knows that when he has the low ground, he really has the high ground, from a certain point of view.
Look at his battle record:
Maul: Has low ground, wins
Dooku: No high ground, loses
Dooku rematch: No high ground, loses
Greivous: Has low ground, wins
Vader: Has high ground, wins
Vader rematch: No high ground, loses
Obi-Wan with the high/low ground is canonically the most powerful Jedi.
This is also why Obi-Wan hates flying; there is no gravity in space, therefore there is no high or low ground from any frame of reference (This also negates the spinning trick.)
It took the Tusken Raiders years of conflict against Old Ben Kenobi to grasp his superiority in terrain advantage, as you see them visibly flee in ANH when they realize he holds the low (inverse-high) ground.
Psychic Sandshrew my man just wrote a whole essay about obi-wan having the high ground, from a certain point of view

You forgot about coruscant's planetary defence shield.
how much would it help? I don't know much about the shield, but if it's powerful enough to shield an entire planet, then it could definitely survive the EMP (though possibly not the mining laser). It could definitely give Coruscant a bigger chance!

The world back then wasn't as connected (look at us typing)
@Adam Anderson
I think it wouldn't take as long as you think to jumpstart technology if they had a smartphone to study.
@@GodwynDi Indeed, once the first PC is made, it'll be easy as fuck to make a smartphone.
"The Jedi, Palpatine, and any other person who thinks they can help"
Forget about the Clone Troopers you have.
Apparently the mothership in the first film was "Grown" off of the Harvester ship in the sequel and sent to subdue Earth. It was sort of a "Yea, go take care of those guys ahead of me while I do this other, more important stuff." kind of situation.
czcams.com/video/dGno_HPu4ns/video.html
The problem is Palpatine and the Jedi have a very high probability of predicting the incoming ship and bring ridiculous amounts of superweapons to Coruscant. Also, the war with the CIS may have been stalled or postponed by Palpatine once he sense the damned aliens.
Tarkin to Death Star Officer: You may fire when ready. BAM

@The lord of cringe the neck isn't what is chocked, it's the esophagus, also they wouldn't need r2 to hack the ship
Their lasers are powerful and their ships can usually take a few hits from them before going down.I see the same thing
Im pretty sure they would have prepared for EMPs as well, the Harvesters would not be the first ones to attempt such a thing.
THE MEGATONS ARE LIES. The really have as much power as a 1000 lb bomb.
Blade Master Buuuut they were not destroyed
One problem with that there were no star destroyers in orbit and those ships that were would most likely have weaker weapons on them. Second the ship has it's own defence screen and the hull armour is most likely as thick if not more so than a star destroyers.

You really think Star Wars tech is vulnerable to EMP? I thought the were only disabled by ion weapons. How would it have played out if the EMP did nothing?
toomdog the ship still stomps the fleet. The sheer amount of guns a ship of that size would have is insane.
toomdog it is, technically the clones did deploy a emp, which also acted sorta as a nuke, but still they did use a emp and the droids where effected and yeah, why wouldn't the republic's stuff would?
ion weapons are basically just emp bombs/projecitles
As i recall Ion Cannons are ionized plasma, not EMP. Admittedly i Don't have my reference material on hand so going from memory.
Lets say the ion cannon is emp. How much emp would it take to produce a recoil like we say in empire strikes back?

DocWolph yeah I agree. Noble team would most likely destroy Delta squad or any clones
DocWolph yeah Spartans would be like cyborgs on meth to the clones.
YASS!! ODST v Arc Troopers would be awesome! (Arc Troopers would win (: )

(8th try)
I'm a trek fan, so why not a Trek crew of a Star Destroyer and a Wars crew on the Enterprise, any one of them.
czcams.com/video/dGno_HPu4ns/video.html
Imo I think with 2,000 venators they could just shred the mothership with the sheer amount of turbolasers and not to mention the other defenses coruscant has should be able to take it down
Assuming most of them weren't taken down by the EMP. As the Malevolent showed, Republic warships were susceptible to massive ion pulses. The EMP might be just as effective.
Joel S no, conventional EMP blasts dont work on star destroyers
yup, the republic would destroy with firepower, or read my comment and thats my theory!

Thrawn wins, because Thrawn.
mammoth would shit on at at with mac

Independence Aliens vs The Yuzhang Vong
Harvesters stand no chance
Not much of a contest. The Vong pretty much obliterated any resistance they came across and only failed because they overextended themselves.
YES
It's possible that those with the force would be able to disrupt the queens telepathy in some way, preventing her from talking to the others. If they could do this even for a short while they might stand a 50/50 chance of winning.
The Dalek Empire vs The Galactic Empire. Or, could the Imperial fleet at Endor Invade/destroy Gallifrey. (And yes, I'm going to keep commenting this until he does it!)
Yes it could as a SINGLE time lord did it 5/6 or idk how many times
Did what?
Well it's kinda dumb, dude. The Time Lords have forces numbering in the "billions of billions" airing to the show and wouldn't hesitate to squash a butterfly and prevent all of Imperial history to achieve victory. They wouldn't win; the Imperials wouldn't exist to fight.
*according, not airing

Anubis' invasion fleet vs the imperial fleet at Endor
John Smith imperial fleet Ha'taaks have pretty power full staff canons but Imperial Star Destroyer's have more guns that are more powerful
Deltahunter anubis' fleet would have numbrrs on their side
@@Delta-1X-Ray PREACH!
During the clone war, one of the weapons used by both side were chemical weapons warhead strong enough to wipe a planet. All cap ship had them. Also, the mothership is really slow in its approach, the 20 or so Golan batteries and long-range attacks from the cruisers would devastate it.

Assimilate and move on (Tyranids)
4 hive fleets? Do u even know what the tyrranids are capable of with just 1?
Maybe just 2 then..
Dude even one hive fleet would steamroll the entire yuuzhan von fleet
Alright alright.. 1 then for the most balanced fight
Theoretically couldn't all the Jedi try to crush the queen together with the force?
I’m not sure about the republic but honestly I believe the empire would easily defeat the aliens.
Rancor vs Indominus rex

Somebody should do a fanfictional film about the Harvesters invading the Star Wars universe! 😂
This scenario relies too heavily on The Harvesters being able to arrive to Coruscant undetected. In most likelihood they will be discovered at least halfway through, and be pummeled by an increasing number of warships until their shields near failure and they are forced to retreat.
I think the mothership has a cloaking device.

do the odsts drop into battle in this situation or is like a they are just there because seeing a burning pod hit the ground and some guy pop out is honestly part of the tactic and it's important psychologically

They'll crash on the shield though ^^'
Death troopers don't seem to be very good, I mean some random ass rebel girl could kill a whole squad so I think odst would stomp.
the force storm might work in 2 ways
1) he calls upon ALL the dark side practicers to lend him their power so he can control the force storm and obliterate the mothership
2) Palpatine with great reluctance reveals himself as the sith lord or pretends to be an apprentice to a deceased plagueis still and summons the storm and controls with the help of several thousand strong Jedi knights, masters, and even younglings that are strong enough in the force

the gravity pulling the city makes no sense because you cant draw gravity from a larger object to a smaller one
Old republic vs The Republic(The Clone Wars era)
I think that a deflector shield can stop EMP.
The Aliens from Independence Day vs The Empire (With a Death star)
haha, I don't think so.
The death star can blow up an entire planet. A typical planet is much larger and more massive than the Independence Day mothership.
But that single shot did not technically destroy the death star.
True, but it left it beyond repair much like the ID4 ships were, despite their hulls remaining mostly intact.
I'd like to see them try to invade the Death Star! 😂
When I saw this, I slammed my fist.

Starkiller base easily wins. Not even a fair fight.
What brings all this power when you are so mobile like a planet? Nothing, too much space in the universe. The just evade the direction of the lasers and laugh while the suck out the juice of the base
