    this doesn’t have to do with the main subject of the vid but i have huge social anxiety (like to the point where i’m legally disabled bc of that and depression and other mental illness stuff) so giving out that positive energy to strangers is super hard regardless of race; i usually look at my phone or fiddle with my hands when someone walks past me. i have such a surge of anxiety when that happens bc it reminds me that i exist and other people perceive me and i have a paranoia that everyone hates me by default. this video gave me motivation to try to smile and wave at people i don’t know on the street or the bus (i tried it a few times today) and honestly seeing the smiles and genuine enthusiasm of people being greeted made me feel a lot more comfortable and confident. it’s no cure and it’s scary but it’s mutually beneficial when i have the courage to do it. thank you for the motivation and i love these kinds of videos, they always inspire me.

We were walking through a parking lot and a group of people were out front and they were celebrating. They were different than me in color but I walked right up to one of them and said, "What's going on?" One replied, "My brothers getting married!" So I seen the guy walking out of the building. I looked for cameras to make sure I didn't mess anything up if they were photographing, I walked right up to him stuck out my hand and said, "CONGRATULATIONS MAN!" His face lit up and asked, "Thanks! Who are you?" I stated, "Just a stranger wanting to wish you a happy relationship and marriage." He thanked me and took TWO photos with me in it. Didn't know him, never met them. It is all about attitude. Great video!

      @Adi KriegKrieg to begin with most of your sources are simply anecdotal and based on individuals instead of giving actual statistics which paints black people in a negative light since you're cherry-picking the worst of these cases which can be done with any race. The sources that do have statistics either aren't backed up or support your claim such as :
      Black Males have the Highest Femicide Rates of ALL RACES of Men!
      m.topix.com/forum/afam/TGV4GDS3S2BSQEJ63/bm-have-the-highest-femicide-rates-of-all-races-of
      There isn't an article relating to femicide rates on this.
      CDC Leading Causes Of Death Chart 2014
      www.cdc.gov/women/lcod/index.htm
      Currently does have any information on this page.
      Black On White Rape Statistics
      czcams.com/video/kwbgL9TxG6Y/video.html
      It's a small bias youtube video that doesn't link source to the slides. While on the title page it claims to be backed by the FBI there's no evidence to support this.
      Every other link were simply individual cases which can be done to any race by simply searching 'white rapist" for example. If you're gonna believe and support something please review your sources and use something more factual.

    • @isiahblaise5245
      @isiahblaise5245 Před 4 lety +4

      @Adi KriegKrieg citing individual cases is anecdotal and as I said before your other links simply didn't have the information you said it did so I don't see where exactly I lied. I followed each link and it either talked about a specific criminal or was a about a completely irrelevant video.

    • @isiahblaise5245
      @isiahblaise5245 Před 4 lety +4

      @Adi Krieg I'm not saying that the black community doesn't have problems however it's disingenuous to make these claims without considering the circumstances of these areas. For example, in all those links there was no information within the link that discussed interracial marriage and yet you treat a whole race as a health risk with no facts to support. There is a crime problem but this problem is mostly caused by poverty due to several injustices in the past. You can't expect a group of people who have constantly been reset to have a stable base like everyone else. And to your point about foreign countries warning tourist of black areas which you haven't supported they also warn against traveling to the U.S due to mass shootings, many of which are done by white people. ultimately there are many factors that affect these issues so I think it's unfair to look at this as a race issue when there's so much more at play like poverty, location, and many individual decisions. So I feel like we should look for valid solutions instead of exaggerating a problem to the point of alienating a group of people.

    • @isiahblaise5245
      @isiahblaise5245 Před 4 lety +3

      @Adi Krieg I've looked at these statistics many times and these website are very liberal which is why I have done my research and want to look for valid solutions. Ultimately with numbers, you can skew results however you want but this doesn't change the problem at hand. Calling me a commie for simply addressing what you said doesn't change the fact that the information wasn't there when I used your sources. if you have links to more credible sources please show me them since after years of looking up information on these very important issues I have not seen the drastic numbers you presented. I didn't blame you for the links being wrong I only said they were wrong. So if asking you about this information is me lying somehow then I don't know how we can really talk about these views since I've only been respectful and moderate about this issue this entire time.

    • @isiahblaise5245
      @isiahblaise5245 Před 4 lety +4

      @Adi Krieg i actually replied days ago but for some reason, it's not here. I don't have time to make it as detailed as last time so all I'll say is that ill check out these new links watch the video and try to find it's sources so I can understand where exactly you're coming from instead of trying to assume your position. There are things in the black community that I see that too me are simply self-destructive and I can only say this because my parents are immigrants and raised me with a different mentality. The last post I made just goes into what I agree and disagree with in the series of the post after mine. Ultimately I don't really want to argue but I do want to understand your thought process.

      Pretty much what I do. Anyone makes eye contact with me, I either nod, or say hello. Depends on gender though. Males, universal what's up nod. (Unless they verbally say hello/what's up/how ya doing?) Females, guaranteed hello. Sometimes I do fudge that social norm and nod at women when they deserve a hello which leads to awkwardness.... But when you are out in public everyday and nod at 100+ dudes, and say hello to 100+ women, you confuse the " gender norm." so to speak. I say it's awkward because women have no fucking clue what the silent nod means. Any guy knows this. They don't know it's a silent way of saying hello/what's up/how are you. So they tend to react with a "WTF impression?!?" But then again, I'm introverted so I can be an awkward SOB. You'd think repetition would yield 100% accurate results with this routine. So maybe it's me being an introvert and my brain having to process a few additional nanoseconds to determine the correct greeting format. Thus screwing it up occasionally.

When I talk to a lot of kids from the younger generations they always tell me they don't respect anyone until they earn it. I pointer out that if everyone thought that way it would just be a bunch of people standing around waiting for the other person to do something worthy of respect, meanwhile projecting their disrespect for each other, onto each other. The difference in personality, means, and methods almost entirely stem from the way someone is raised as a child. The reason observable disparities based on race are present is because we are still using the same classifications for people that are part of immensely large and diverse groups as is that we used when oppression was institutionalized. Damn. I really needed to hear that part about setting the tone of the conversation and properly acknowledging people instead of looking away. Thing is, it's useful since I spend a lot of my time on public transit (3-6 hours a day), and I don't wanna engage the crazies/leeches/drunks/tweakers. That being said, I've noticed how I've carried this into my jobs and I've made a lot of coworkers feel uncomfortable. I definitely need to change this. I've used the excuse of being an introvert/loner for a long time but I've become a lot more comfortable socially than I used to be. I realize that I need to invest more of my energy in properly judging people and acknowledging them, instead of taking the easy and lazy route of just ignoring almost everybody. I also dress in all black with intimidating graphics, so I do have more of a responsibility to make sure I'm not making people too uncomfortable. Honestly I've just wanted people to leave me alone because most of my energy is put into manual labor and because I had an abusive upbringing which made me get bad social anxiety, but since it's gotten a lot better, I really gotta keep growing and take the next step which I know I can do.

      I hardly ever answer the phone anymore out of fear that I’ll get suckered into another scam. And I’m friendly with people when I meet them but have to step back and review the exchange to make sure I’m not getting sucked into a one sided relationship.
      I don’t know if I have an answer to your desire to be more social to your coworkers but I’ve done manual labor in warehouses before and haven’t had much problem even when riding the 2 hour triple bus ride there and back. I do tend to discriminate so, when I see people who have certain quirks that I recognize as being the kind that other people who haven’t been unfair towards me in the past also had, I open up to them. Maybe you could have a smily shirt that you switch into when you get to work or when there is a lull in the workload. Something to show a different, more vulnerable, and socially receptive side of yourself to people who you don’t have all that much reason to fear. It could be an undershirt that shows when you take of your death metal shirt off because you get hot. Or a silly hat you put on at work but don’t show on the bus.

    Your train scenario really hit home with me. One time my family and I were driving through Philly at about 11pm and went through a neighborhood. There was a black guy outside, minding his own business talking with some other friends of his. My parents saw him and made some racial comment about him being black and staying up late (I can't remember what it was exactly).
