Hauptmann Feuerschwanz does not go high, that's Prinz Hodenherz(or Ben Metzner if you will... I always have to search up his Feuerschwanz character name).
Feuerschwanz is an interesting band. They started out just making fun medieval rock but then diverted to more serious medieval rock and they are really good a it.

HI Beth ! I'm an old musican and what I saw was one of the greatest performance I've ever saw to cover a song of Manowar! this is so unique ! This Songcover hits the orignal ! just perfect!
So much to explore, just from this video. All of the singers involved, their respective bands and genres, as well as the original band.
If I had to pick just one thing, please check out Saltatio Mortis for more medieval metal. Their sea shanty cover of "My mother told me" is a good follow up from this one.
I absolutely second the Saltatio Mortis request. I would also suggest their version of The Dragonborn Comes (i think that's the name)

Alea from Saltatio Mortis, (the bearded guy you'll never get to see next to someone else) had to do his shots somewhere else at a different time due to health issues. They did mix it in quite nicely i think.
I'm absolutely DEE-LIGHTED with Feuerschwanz! Metal has long needed bands who would take the piss, and BOY do they deliver! (I laughed my bum off at their cover of "Dragostea din tei!")

Hans (the guitarist), Jenny (the redhaired figther in the duel, who is a harp player), Melissa and the Drummer of Amaranth, has a Band together call Dar side of the moon, they have done 3 songs so far and they are all incredibly good

Would love to see a reaction to Master of the Universe by Angus McSix (new band of ex-Gloryhammer singer).
Feuerschwanz is a german medival rockband most of thie songs they make are in german but they are good and worth to take a look at it. In this songs they united some leadsingers of other german medival rock bands like Alea from Saltatio Mortis and Thomas Winkler former leadsinger of Gloryhammer, the singer of the first vocal part is Ben Metzner part of Feuerschwanz and also the leadsinger of dArtagnan.
All this german Bands are great. I see them all live đđ
I sure hope Thomas Winkler gets with another band soon. I wish Gloryhammer hadn't imploded, he was such a good match for them.

This is one of the covers that I love as much, or more, than the original. Another is Sabaton's Kingdom Come, also by ManowaR.
And Melissa Bonny? Her vocals add so much to this song, and gives it that subtle vocal flavor that an epic song like this needs.
"Untot im Drachenboot", "Memento mori" and "Gimme, gimme, gimmer" (a hilarious ABBA-cover) by Feuerschwanz are also very good. As for epic video productions, check out "My mother told me", "The Dragonborn comes" or "Pray to the hunter", all by Saltatio Mortis (the lead singer of which was also in the video). Besides, Ben Metzner/Prinz Hodenherz has another band called D'Artagnan - they do more folk-y stuff. However, their song "C'est la vie" is very good, IMHO (I'd recommend the German version, though). Loved your reaction, btw. :)
The German version of C'est la Vie is definitely the better of the two versions, but I still can't stop myself from loving the English version as well.

This song is such fun... reminds me of gathering with my high school friends on a Friday night and convincing each other we could go 'climb that tree', or 'walk handstands across the ironwork of the highway bridge', or 'tip three cows, blindfolded' or 'tightrope-walk the concrete ledge on the fourth floor of the math building'.... no wait, that was in college... but yeah, we were invincible, back then !!
Great to see Manowar getting recognition, Eric Adams is one of the greatest metal singers of all time.
agree, Eric is insane even today. For me he is the best, not only the screams, range etc... but I love his "color" of the voice, which I think is very important for each person individually. Like for example, my gf doesn't really like Floor in Nightwish, because she likes Tarja's "color" more.
But I love Manowar (my top band with Arjen Lucassen, Snowy Shaw and Iced Earth) among plenty of others :D

While I'm here and you're talking about mixing and matching vocals and enjoy covers I should mention Exit Eden, they do symphonic metal covers of popular songs, it features four lead singers with classical and opera training. Just pick a song, any song, you'll enjoy it.

While this is a good song, I feel the vocal qualities of Alea, the singer of Saltatio Mortis, are not put to right in this song. Like @jaega4247 commented, the song My Mother Told Me from Saltatio Mortis is a really good one, it also has this kind of warrior tone but his singing is a lot more noticable there. Also, Saltatio Mortis' rendition of The Dragonborn Comes with female vocalist Lara Loft is worth checking out. A lot of good belting in that song and nice bagpipe solo's :-).

Oh - well ... a hurdy gurdy doesn't mean that it "is" celtic rock. Patty Gurdy (who does also sometimes participate at Feuerschwanz or D'Artagnan) recently mentioned (she is applying for ESC in the German "Vorentscheid"), that the hurdy gurdy is also an old German instrument ... well it's being used in the middle ages. A lot of German bands (and not only this nation) are doing music like this. If you call them "celtic" you'll get a lot of problems with their fans (Saltatio Mortis (Alea their main singer is also in this video), Subway To Sally, Faun, Schandmaul ... to name just a few of many). Ah well - if you dig in this rabbit hole ... you have really a lot to dig ... and ... maybe you have to learn German cause some of their lyrics are really interesting. And don't forget all their live-shows ...

While I admit that Manowar's constant effort to be epic makes them campy, I just love giving them a listen when I need a pick-me-up. It also impresses me that they needed more than one singer to cover Eric's range. It's an excellent cover and I liked their more tribal spin on Manowar's signature sound. Speaking of stage combat, you may have to pay a another visit to a HEMA instructor or chorographer, I certainly enjoyed your last visit on your other channel.
I'll second the stage combat follow up -- how about a quarterstaff?
I think it's quite the stretch to say they NEEDED more than one singer to cover Eric's range. It's just a couple friends of the german medieval metal scene coming together, chiming in on Feuerschwanz's fun tradition of covering songs for the "b-side" of their albums.

Their collective hymn was better. In the several thousand years old culture of the East, before the war, warriors used to talk to each other about their strength and kinship and the weakness of the other party. Of course, I still don't understand why the horrible appearance is interesting.

Sorry, this version seems to me like watching a theater kinder play. Manowar only with some chains, fire and an abandoned road did a much more epic and strong song.

Eventho I really donât like manowar or the original track. The genius about the original is itâs timing and use auf pauses. This version even takes away that⊠2/10
Not really- the original was a drag, the pauses didn't really add that. This cover is not only a "who's who" of European metal, but it also conveys an epic feel fitting for a song about bringing warriors together. 10/10.
