- Here on this channel we didn't do a livestream of the PS5 event, and I know a lot of you asked me to do it! BUT - I did film my genuine reactions to it while I was taking my notes (apologies for poor audio and keyboard clicks). Hopefully this is a decent compromise! I almost wasn't going to upload this, I never thought I'd do a reaction video. But hey, it's a brand new console generation! These are exciting times. So give me my platformers, space-aged consoles, and teenage dinosaurs. I guess Horizon Forbidden West, Demon's Souls, Spider-Man, Ratchet, and even some Sackboy will do. Just the icing on top really.

yeah i was complaining of the white console and asking where's the iconic black, but now i'm really appreciating this change. it looks good to me now, the controller too looks futuristic or modern. nice changes

My first was sony's E3 2016 and nothing ever topped it so many great games were announced
It's the whole hype and mystery of watching a trailer thinking "oh what game is this?" And then it turns out to be a game your hoping for and you start freaking out at you're screen. It you just watch the trailers the title already spoil it lol

they should have opened with gta 5 just loading on a ps5, to show the ssd or whatever.

Lionheart5 they have said that they upgraded massively the fans, I don’t expect them to sound like a Boeing 747, although if your PS4 sounded like that then you would have to clean it.

It irks me to no end when clueless gamers dismiss the smaller unknown studios in favour of the big name ones.
Destruction Allstars and Little Devil Inside intrigued me a lot. They looked like fun games for everyone to enjoy.

You don't have to be clueless to realize those smaller Indie titles look like shit. All those were is just filler titles. I really hope Sony doesn't do that again, those ones made the show quite cringy at some points.
I bet anyone that says the titles like Destruction Allstars or Bugsnax looks good or "intriguing" is just saying that to sound woke.

I wish I had a dollar for every CZcamsr that says "Gran Turismo really isn't my thing..." Well damnit, SOMEBODY must be into Gran Turismo because it sells an absolute boat load! LOL
For me, it seems to be more popular here in Europe and in Japan. If you watch most of the popular CZcamsrs who stream regular GT content, they are UK based.
I just don't think GT has as much popularity with the US based CZcamsrs who all seem obsessed with FPS, RPG and platform games.

The past ones I've hated the handling of the cars but who knows it may have improved
honestly it has massive appeal in the non-gamer crowd, it's mostly car enthusiasts.
The people who love and play Gran Turismo don't really play any other type of game besides maybe the occasional COD. I guess you couldn't really call them 'gamers' but yeah they are really hyped about racing games specifically and nothing else. They also probably don't follow any gaming news etc they just realise one day that a new console is out with a new racing game :P

yep, i owned an xbox one this generation since thats what my friends had but seeing gt7, ratchet and clank and sackboy made me feel really nostalgic since those the games i used to play on psp and ps3 back in the day. So far i think im getting a ps5

It's cool to see a reaction of someone that enjoyed the platformers, and smaller games. And not cry about it like every other reaction I've seen. I'm not too into them myself, but I like that Sony has something for everyone and showed it off. They even won me over with that Ratchet game.

Agreed, and it looks even more stunning when laid on its side. I’m getting the physical no matter what. Digital is just pointless. You can still download games on the physical anyway so I don’t see the point. I’d rather have a gaming console that I can also use as a 4K blu ray player. I love watching movies on my PlayStation as well as playing games.
The reason behind the digital only version is lowering costs, if they both have the same drive space (which they shouldn't) the physical version will be the higher price one for sure.
At least until the PS5 Pro or whatever, that cell phone sales model is too savory for console makers to let go of.
I really enjoyed that, you should do this for all the big Sony announcements/conferences, even if its unedited I wouldn't mind. Being live isn't important I rarely get to see them live anyway, I like the analysis after the fact.

The console is apparently pretty large, but now I can see what the point of that contrast colour was. As one of them will in most environments be the most noticeable one, it makes the system appears a bit smaller than it really is.
With the new Spider-Man game, I think they just used the Spider-Man 1 world/map and increase the graphics. Then they change the storyline, new characters, and scenes. I don't think it was build from the bottom.
Designed with cooling in mind first and foremost that’s for sure can’t wait for this beauty in my living room.
People don't even talk how in GT you can go from your garage menu to the part shop instantaneously with no loading screen. Just amazing. Usually it'll be loading screen when you leave your garage and head to the map, then loading screen to load the part shop.
As An Xbox Owner I have to admit that this think looks really impressive. Having watched your other videos I have to say I didn’t like the PS5 design when I first saw it right if the bat but it’s really growing on me in the hours since.
It looks more akin to a small high end gaming PC in my opinion. I’ve never been an early adopter and I am an Xbox guy and have never bought a console st launch but this I may actually consider buying at some just to play some of Sony’s first party exclusives as they do look super impressive especially in 4K.

Yeah I’m a ps guy I love the exclusives but back when I had the original Xbox and the 360 I loved the gears series and halo was my all time favourite game I will be defo be picking up both consoles as I want halo infinite and gears of war why not enjoy both consoles
I've always been a Sony guy, never bought an Xbox, but i decided to buy both this gen. Just like you, the 'monolith' design grew on me; and i was watching a KOTOR ii gameplay vid, realized there was at least fifty games over the last 20 years i'd never gotten to play, and thought i'd jump in. Even gonna give Halo a shot (even though i tried Halo 4 with friends and hated it :p)
To be honest, I've always found the 'console wars' entertaining, but i guess it's time for 'peace' (or access to more games; one of the two)

I like that you also appreciate thr weird quirky games. Catherine is a game that was made literally just as a test for the Persona 5 engine and it's one of the funniest and goofy games I've played. I hope the gaming industry keeps making these gems.

The best new IP reveal was definitely Kena Bridge of Spirits. The trailer gave me chills and the scale and design of the world looks fantastic.
Looking at the trailer, again and again, it always drives shivers down my spine and goose bumps on my body. That's what I like about this launch, the hype, the build up, the visuals, the music, everything was done right and I couldn't think of a way to improve the hardware reveal. Music was amazing and on point.
Damn I should have looked at this before I can't wait to buy some of theses games like horizon and demon souls

For Spider-Man they started working on it on 2018 after spider man was made it was finished in 2020 may 16 ps my dad works in Sony

Now all we need is to get sunset overdrive to be on PlayStation.
People would not believe me about The spiderman ,so the way it works is when your making spiderman if you know you have 3 in the series you work on them all you focus on the first one ,but as you start wrapping on the first you focus a little more on the second and so on. So they dont have to build it from the ground up. So production time is quicker. Much like they shot all of the trilogy at once.
