    Nice Video... saved me a ton of time trying to figure it out. So simple. I painted the trim ring red while leaving the black tabs black. Looks awesome as I'm tricking her out as it is my wife's 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport JK doing a Pirate Theme on a White Body with Black Trim.

    Hi David. Any idea what would cause my 2011 Wrangler floor vents to have no air blowing out of them? Dash vent setting works fine. On the mixed vent setting only the dash vents have air coming out. Defroster works fine too.

    Hey, i’m Looking for a close up on the heat/defrost controls. I recently added a hardtop and wiring harness to my 2016 wrangler and the defrost is not working. The light does not come on. I have had the dealer send the flash codes. There is an empty plug on the far right on the back of that panel and i am wondering if it is supposed to have a plug for the rear defrost going into it.

    I got a question about my 2013 JK I change the spark plugs but I don't know the spacing to give them should be 42 or 44 and also I'm getting a squeaky noise when I turn the car on I was thinking about changing the pulley but I was also thinking about the starter solenoid getting stuck what do you think should I change both I mean it squeals and it stops but it keeps creaking while I'm driving

    Was there a foam filter on the backside of the vent assembly? Cleanable? Necessary?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 7 lety

      Morning Douglas.....no foam behind the vents. I did a video on installing a cabin filter on that same vehicle. That is something that I recommend mainly to stop dust/dirt from getting into the a/c box and causing the evaporator to get covered and then eventually blocked with the build up of the dust/dirt. I like your videos sir, I got a question. I have a 2011 Jeep JK a/c stopped working. The pump comes on and runs like normal but no fan, where is the fan and how do you test it.
    Any help will be appreciated

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 6 lety

      Are you talking about the blower inside the vehicle? Its under the passenger side of the dash. To test it you need to check for 12 volts and ground at the connector with the fan turned on and the connector at the fan unplugged. Then we will have a direction to check in. Also you can try tapping on the blower motor to see if its stuck

    Dave, any ideas on jku the drivers side vents are 15-20 degrees colder than passenger side?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety

      Typically if it was more then that I would possibly think a clogged heater core. There is a chance that it might be starting to clog. I recommend removing both heater hoses from the fireway and spraying pressurized water thru each one alternating back and forth and then reconnecting the hoses and adding coolant and then recheck.

    Hey man ... I have a dodge avenger 2.4l 2011 when I turn the AC on or the heater the RPM start to go up and down between 500 RPM and 700 with vibration. If the AC off every thing is fine. I went to multiple shops one of them told me coils and the other told me spark plugs so I don't know what to do. What is the problem u think? Sorry for my long story... thx

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 7 lety

      I personally dont think its either. We dont have issues with those coils so thats not needed and plugs would cause a skip it there was an issue there. Sounds like something that is going to require some checking. There is no one thing I can tell you that might be the cause. Its not something that I have come across. I wonder if the issue is ac related and if the ac is being cycled off and on for some reason such as a pressure related issue.
