The fact he didn't refuse her decision even considerating he had the ring, really makes me sad..
Why didn't she listen to him?
He probably felt that it was a slap in the face to finally expressing himself emotionally with this gesture. Sometimes it feels like life does that, even when that isn't really the case.
You really don’t understand him. He was respecting her decision and thought that was the most logical thing to do.
What can he do? Freaking out? Persuading her to stay in the relationship?

The most heart breaking moment is when he is trying to convince everyone that he is fine with the break up. Know how that feels!
The one breakup I had, took it very hard. Putting myself back together, keeping an even keel when around people and at work. So to them, me being reserved equaled me "just needing to get over it." All of the unsolicited advice would only make things worse. They were being very cruel without realizing it.
The only way to be a man is to get through it the right way. Its hard to do though, just rebuild yourself up with the best peices of your destroyed tower. Working on yourself as man is our true gift, true friends are a blessing.
I know this feeling, the biggest problem is that the most amount of time you want to convince yourself, that you are fine, when in reality deep in mind you understand that you are not and that pisses you off, gets on your nerves. Oftenly in the situations like this, when you are angry for people trying to comfort you, in reality you are angry on yourself and you don't want other people think that you are pathetic. One of the ways to get over it is to confess yourself in the first place, that you are not ok, and it is not your fault. The road ahead in building yourself from the breakup can be difficult and challenging, but being honest to yourself can be a great help in understanding your thoughts and emotions in future

At some point, everyone goes through this, when you have to place the feelings & happiness of someone one else ahead of your own.
The connection between Penny and Sheldon makes perfect sense. She is his sister Missy.
These two are brother and sister. SHENNY is not romantic.

Sheldon's hesitation after she says she hopes he can understand, followed by a simple "Okay" is heartbreaking. He really couldn't understand, because despite all of his issues, at that point he did love her, even if he couldn't say it himself.
In the end of the video I get why Sheldon didn’t want to be Amy’s girlfriend, she broke his heart, and he doesn’t want to get his heart broken again because it took so much work to repair it like he says “ I excel in many things but getting over you isn’t one of them”. I think I would have done the same.

When my ex started talking to me three months after he'd abruptly dumped me during one of the toughest weeks in my college life, I remember telling him that "getting over you is one of the toughest things I had ever had to do" and that I'm still trying to do it and him coming back if only for casual shit is not making it any easy.
Hearing Sheldon say something like that hit close to home.

All of them are great. But we have to admire Leonard...what an amazing and caring friend and boyfriend. When he hugs Sheldon that's gold. We all want a Leonard in our lives.

Watching this back, I still get emotional, for someone like Sheldon who doesn’t like change, Amy changed him in ways he didn’t know and it was so beautiful to just watch their relationship blossom. Sometimes, you just have to go through some hard times to get to the good ones
Now we know what the problem with the show is.
The damn laugh track.
If it were replaced with good music, everything would be so much better.
I watched the last 3 seasons in cringe, this video makes things look much better.

I think it’s fine in most places, but for me personally it does take away from serious moments like these
I hate laugh tracks/studio audiences. Try and watch Friends _without_ the laugh track. It sucks and everything is awkward. Just a bad show covered up by canned laughter.

Omg, watching this video broke my heart. Seeing Sheldon suffer through heartbreak and trying so hard to hide it was just painful to see. Sheldon wasn’t like this in earlier seasons when he was always more logical type of character and attempted to detached himself from emotions. So the fact that he’s grown to be sensitive emotionally and be less concerned with being so logical all the time just shows how much Amy meant to him because she was able to help him grow. That’s why when Sheldon tried going back to his old personality after the break up, instead of being typical it’s hard to watch because you can immediately tell he’s just covering the pain he feels.
Ugh watching and writing this made me cry so much. The video highlights that Big Bang Theory isn’t a show solely about geeks. It’s a show about a group of young guys, and gals, who are able to grow and mature

Oh, so this is how magical music can be. I felt Sheldons hurt, but moved on.
These scenes with the music made me cry.
Sheldon leaving town wasn't part of his heartbreak over Amy. But I got tears watching this video. The music was perfect, and it was wonderful to not hear the obligatory laugh lines after the touching, meaningful gut-wrenching ones. I was allowed to completely feel the real emotions of the scene. And the clips of just Leonard and Sheldon, really show the depth of the friendship between the two men.
When Sheldon looks into the camera and says, "we've gone a little off-topic" and corrects himself breaks me. Everyone thinks that Sheldon doesn't feel anything but in reality, he feels everything and doesn't show it which just makes it worse. Damn, watching this was hard.

Actually the train station scene was not because of the break up. It was in an episode in a season prior to the breakup.

it's because it has no laugh track. sometimes I wish comedy would have no laugh tracks during serious parts

I can relate to what Sheldon went through, Once I was in a long lasting relationship... with a girl, I brought her a ring. Before I even gave her the ring we had a bad break up. I can understand how that must've felt for Sheldon

Damn. It's a shame the show rarely (if ever) allowed for moments like this to truly be felt, always following them up with some joke or other immediately. Good job for cutting those out and showing the raw emotions that these actors did manage to capture, but were never allowed to linger on.

He was so fragile in this. The score was almost haunting.
What gets me in this video is not when he yells because he's heart broken. But when Amy says I hope you understand. I think this was the first time in his life he didn't understand or know the outcome to anything. Maybe he felt like the rest of us in that moment.

When Sheldon met Amy I thought it was his time for true love. And though Amy had her reasons for breaking up with Sheldon, In my opinion I think she did a more terrible thing than Sheldon ever did to her. Amy never took it a thought that somethings that Sheldon did wasn't his fault. He's a really smart person but he is really different from other people. I mean Leonard, even though he's his roomate and his best friend, has taken care of him and at times even he knows how Sheldon is around situations he's not good with. Even Bernadette said to Howard once, "It's not his fault, the part of his brain doesn't let him know that it's wrong to say that he's smarter than you." Even when Amy wanted to get together again, it was like she forgot that she hurt Sheldon. Though I am happy that they are back together again, and even Sheldon is trying to change for her. This is one powerful video.

It’s a lot to ask of someone to be that patient especially when it’s someone like Sheldon who insults u and puts u down constantly.

And that breakup happened 5 years into the relationship.
Imagine dealing with all of that for 5 years.
If it were me, the burnout would have happened in 6 months.
Here’s the truth, we feel bad because we watch this show and we know what Sheldon is like and that he means no harm and most importantly, we like his character.
But if he were a “regular” man, he would be a complete asshole.
It’s no different just because he is Sheldon.
Any couldn’t take it and u can’t blame her for it or say she has to see it from Sheldon’s point of view.
She was doing that for 5 years and at the end of the day, she has to put herself first.
Sarah Amrita don't get me wrong I see your point on Amy's view, I mean I did say that she had her reasons heck even I could understand her frustration from Sheldon. Leonard, Penny, and the others had very similar issues with him, but I just didn't like the fact that Amy felt like all of a sudden she was comfortable with being with him again, even after she had really hurt him. Even Sheldon was having difficulty admitting to himself that he missed and needed her.
