Utter myth that Sunderland fans don't like Southerners. Our player of the last century was Charlie Hurley who was a Londoner with Irish decent. One of our club embassadors is Kevin Ball who is from the south coast. Kevin Phillips was from just north of London.
What we don't like is bullshitters who can't do their job.

Simon Jordan's remark dismissing Sunderland's ambitions as "delusions of grandeur" is not just unfair, but completely off the mark. Sunderland boasts a passionate and proud fan base that has weathered the storms of the past decade. Despite the club's challenges, their colossal support remains evident in consistently high attendance figures, even during their time in League One surpassing many Premier League sides.
Their fans are discerning and quick to spot when their beloved club is being misled. The appointment of Beale only added to their frustrations. Reports of his use of a burner Twitter account only serve to confirm suspicions of his opportunistic nature. Just ask fans of QPR and Rangers, who have had firsthand experience with Beale's questionable tactics.
Sunderland may be down, but they are by no means out. Their size and fervent support make them a force to be reckoned with, deserving of far more respect than they've been given.

I’m not a Sunderland fan but I would love them to come back up to the Premier League. I want to biggest clubs in England in the top league. I give lots of credit to the smaller clubs for getting there with stadiums that hold less than 20,000 fans (an amazing achievement for any club to do that with less than half of other teams’ match-day revenues). I want to see the big clubs with the biggest stadiums up there. Thankfully, unlike sports like the NFL and NBA, football is (in a lot of respects) a meritocracy, so teams cannot just be let in the PL for having a lot of fans. I hope Sunderland can improve and eventually come back up. They’re the biggest club in the north-east of England and one of the biggest in the North of England full stop. Manchester United, Leeds United, Liverpool & Everton are the only four that are guaranteed bigger than Sunderland.
Get a new manager, doing better due diligence in doing so, and plan for the future, and move on.
There are no short-cuts in football anymore. Ten years ago they could easily buy their way back up, but this is impossible now after Chelsea & City have done it to death (and illegally in City’s case).

Simon Jordan has never been able to hide his dislike of Sunderland AFC. The fans have never had any delusions of grandeur since the 1950s Bank of England club. They are one of the most accepting, patient and forgiving fans in the country. After five years of dross they enjoyed a season and a half of entertaining football from talented young players. Many were gutted that it was taken away from them due the dismissal of Mowbray. Beale's boring style of football only resulted in four wins all of which could have gone the other way.

Simon’s right, Beale had the opportunity to learn his trade and appreciate the position QPR provided him with. Turning up at Ibrox when GVB was struggling wasn’t the sign of someone with integrity. He took the Rangers job and was proven to be completely out of his depth. Taking stock for a while after Rangers would’ve been the sensible option however he’ll be seen as a major liability after failures at two seperate clubs in less than a season! Mowbray was very popular despite having a bang average season - actually 100% typical of his managerial career average!
When he was sacked there was talk of an up and coming foreign coach which got us excited
So when Beale was mentioned there was immediate huge disappointment
QPR and Rangers fans were unanimous in their criticism (hatred) of Beale, which added fuel to the fire, especially the way he left QPR, with Alex Neil's treachery fresh in our minds
K L-D could have listened to the fans' total dismay and changed his mind
he didn't and then presented Beale as the one they had been tracking and as being perfect for the job, when in fact he was just cheap and didn't want to bring a coaching team with him!
Speakman even promoted his mate Dodds to Assistant Head Coach the day Beale arrived! So I am sure Beale felt obliged to be heavily influenced by Dodds - who is now interim Head Coach!!
Some fans said ok, give the bloke a chance but many others started the Beale Out campaign before he even arrived. totally unfair IMO, but it happened
Beale said the wrong thing quite a few times but as far as I'm concerned his biggest failing was that he made no significant changes ! (Dodds influence ??)
If we had hung on to beat Birmingham Beale would have had a higher PPG than Mowbray managed this season, but losing dropped it a little below. Narrow margins!
Still dunno if he walked or was pushed or a bit of both. We may never know

Not a Sunderland supporter, but I thought he lost the plot in the Cup tie with Newcastle. It was naive at best, and looked like a rudderless team. At the time it felt like a bad sign of fortunes.

Perhaps Sunderland found out that Michael Beale was using an account called Player_id, which even had a podcast and LinkedIn account, to promote himself and to criticise Sunderland's board and that gave them cause to get rid of him.
I think they dodged a bullet and Beale shouldn't work for another club, at least as a manager anyway

Beale has a good eye for talent but as a manager he just can't cut it. He is best in a coaching role alongside a good manager or scouting out young talent.

No he came in December for 12 games and took us backwards out of the top 6 down to 10th.
From playing fast, high pressing, counter attacking football under Mowbray, to a slow, defensive style and hoping Clarke does some magic to nic a 1.0 win.
Not to mention having a 2nd twitter account whilst being here & at Rangers retweeting pro beale posts. They bloke is an absolute weapon and every club should stay well away from him

Incredibly condescending towards Sunderland fans by Simple Jim here. Saying that Sunderland fans are not having Beale because he's from down South..........like is the man for real? Is this the week one of life Jim? Kev Phillips is from down South and hes the most loved Sunderland player of the last 30 years.....we dont care where youre from - its what you do.
Then simple Jim says that Sunderland fans would never give him a chance to make it no matter what the results are......so according to chimp brain Jim if Beale had won every game since he came in, he would still get fired anyways because the sunderland cavemen (according to simple Jim) cant accept Beale just because hes from down south hahahahahaha
As for Jordan "Delusions of Grandeur" - Sunderland are a much bigger club than Crystal Palace so he is in no position to make that comment as a Palace fan.
