What about Marsha for a name? Porsche, Maserati?
Simple. Love it
MARSHA MARSHA MARSHA!
Marsche
Clever... dont love it, but it's in the runnjng
@@StanleyKubick1in a European accent
"the cars barely on the lift right now" 27:36 the front right isn't even touching lol
The other side is strapped down at least. Still kinda sketch trusting a 1” strap holding a whole car above your head
@@toddbrown4185 its not holding the whole car, its holding the extra weight off center of the fulcrum, prob like 100-150 lbs max
Made me skip to the end of video just to see one side flexing off the lift 🤦🏽
@@saauuccEE Lots of leverage, but I wouldn't stand under and shake it lol
Whatever happened to safety Steve making sure nothin happens to jimmy.
Adding an opinion from an air cooled guy here. Keep your touch points inside and gauges Porsche oem or at least oem adjacent. It’s one of the charms. Nice project btw.
Said before and ill say it again Spoon built headers and ITBs ull get room under the hood/trunk and it will sound ridiculous. Plus Spoon just welded titanium for the first time for Austin, im just throwing it out there if u want to get crazy. Love the build so far tho.
Set of S85B40 ITBs with an adapter 🤤
I’m working on making ITB’s right now 🙏 excited to try and piece it all together
@@JimmyOakesthat thing is going insane 🔥🔥🔥
@@JimmyOakesI got an idea for a shirt. It’s a buff 💪 azz spoon with a weld helmet on ( flipped up obviously). Said spoon has a “I haven’t had coffee yet “ glare. The letters will say “ DONT FORGET YOUR SPOON ! “. It’s a mid idea but it’s a idea. ✌🏽
Tilt that rad forward! Thank me later on when you get to the fueling. I'd use most of that area for it since the bottom pan is cut out. Figure something out with fittings. Use dry brake styles whenever you go crossing under the car. Also, run you a 90 or 150° angle on that rad, take it up top, and let it self feed. Should keep temp down. You may get more of an idea through watching build channels, too. I'm suggesting somethings ive seen off Rob Dahm with his 3 & 4 rotor projects!
Notification gang! Getting paid to watch Jimmy on the can! Sorry boss I got the bubble guts for 20 mins 😅
I’m on the can too, shits on company time hit different
Lmao seeing this comment while guess what? Taking a paid dump
Currently at my desk watching. Sorry boss! 😂
Hahah! Love you guys 🤣
Can’t do anything about the BG’s 🤷♂️
27:16 anyone else notice that the front passenger lift point is not even touching. Hahaha. Be safe man
Make yourself your first SEMA car. It’s one of a kind.
Make mounts to slip casters into cradle . Lift car up put casters on drop car and undo bolts and lift car back up and roll drivetrain out.
Great idea
Jimmy we need a I ❤️ 70’s junk shirt!
I modify 70s junk would be cool also
One day when the channel is mega huge we will look back and be proud we knew what the fuck was up before everyone else
my heart hurt with that harness cut 🤣 the gauges can all be pulled from the front of the dash if you need to work on them in the future - no need to pull the hvac to get to them. They're just held in by a rubber gasket in the dash. A lil wiggle and they pop right out 🤟
That cradle turned out slick as hell! Absolutely loving the way this is coming together. And given that ours runs fine under track conditions with less radiator, this should do perfectly fine.
if its possible with the amount of room and spoon is up to the task y'all should try and make equal length headers into an 8 to 1 collector to try and get that high pitch f1 sound
12:23 spoon with the Cleet merch on!
i can't wait to see this thing on the ground 🥹
Jimmy and the crew hitting us with all this "Poorari" content is amazing that car is going to be absolutely insane 👌 especially when Jimmy throws 2 huge Turbos or a big Supercharger on it and make it spicyyyy as hell cause you know he will 👍 keep up the great work guys 👍
Spoon with the McFarland fab shirt?? Love it.
Hell yeah brother!
Time for a "Spoon Fabrications, part of Oakes Garage damage prevention team"-shirt...
What a nice thing to watch. A couple things though. Basically I'm doing the same (swapping an ls in to 911 sc), the front radiator mount "platform" - the "v tray" has to be there. The original front "tub" doesn't have a the shape to accommodate the radiator, you'd need to make one.
You could route your hoses under both rocker panels, where the original oil lines are (passenger side) and drivers for the return (or feed doesn't matter).
Original gauges are super easy to remove/reinstall, just pry them out if the cluster
27:02 hahaha i love the daylight you can see from the front hoist lifting points hahahah.
That Porsche is teetering on that thing hahaha.
It makes me so mad this shit is not at the top of youtube trending!! This is best current build on youtube. Keep up the good work guys!
Spoon with the McFarland Fabrication! We've seen Garrett with Adam a few times, it's Jimmy's time!
Jimmy hope after the Porsche sub mail coming back miss seeing that lol
Full time attack crazy build, seat in the middle. Big wing, front lip
I like this build ALOT it's a very different combination than what you usually see. It's going to sound very unique coming from a Porsche.
If the vacuum line is rusty, just run a diesel vehicle electronic vaccuum pump.
Or a tesla brake booster. Superfastmatt did a video on those.
@@winiary_taniegruzy that is also a good idea. Lets see what he comes up with. It is always interesting.
When Steve said "You're gonna get those on the big jobs" I died laughing RIP
14:14 poor guy is also stressed for you guys.
The Car looks already awesome, love the old Porsches. I can't wait to hear this Thing running. And well done with the tubing for the Motor.
And I also can't wait to see the progress on the other Cars. I am hyped to see the progress on Spoon's car and how it will look at the end. Also hyped to see the new Speedhunter Bodykit painted.
I allways enjoy it to look the Videos and the awesome things you guys build.
Ordered my first Merch last month, can't wait to wear it here in Germany.
Lots of greets to the whole OAKES TEAM and greets from germany. stay safe
3 full chassis stripping builds going on! And I’m here for it!
I have a 56 VW Oval window if you wanna help an old dosabled guy out and work on something even older. I turn 51 this year and have had it since high school. I started restoring it in 2000 then moved then had back surgeries and have had a hard time getting back on it. I stripped about 10 colors of paint off of it (i only put 1 on back in high school before the fire...it was small just ended up needing a new engine from the water getting in and rusting the cylinders).
This is going to be so dope when its screaming on a ct backroad on a sunny day
ITB's and 180° headers and this thing would not only fk, it would sound amazing!
Can’t wait to hear that Exhaust coming out of that Body style is going to be crazy!
This is my favorite build! Love the channel love the videos.
Motor mount tubes will crack at the plate-
Engine/transaxle unit is mounted solid to cradle @ engine mounts and flex mounted @ transaxle to cradle. Axle torsion forces will twist tubes at motor mount plates.
Transaxle mount is also under strength. See how beefy stock mount is. Both plate on transaxle and plate to tube should be 1/4"
I just love seeing this. It reminds me so much of the beginning of my 964 project. “Should I keep this or make it new?” And then after hours and hours of work I ended up gutting the whole thing, cutting the harness starting over from the beginning.
If you need any input at all on this please reach out!
I always like before watching, cuz its always a banger no matter what. been loving the maserati swap!
To feed the coolant and oil lines to the front, I would build a short sheet metal "trans tunnel" and feed them through that. Then you could slightly raise your shift box and ebrake set up, but it would probably minimally impact anything else.
Oil cooler equipped ones had lines ran inside the rockers i think
When I installed the motor in my 87 911, I used a quickjack and harbor freight table lift. Table lift would make taking this in and out a breeze w the lift. Loving the build!
11:30 "Soo, obviously i feel stink" lol
You definitely need ITB's on this engine, purely for look
When the build starts off this bad you know it's going to hit hard when it's finished!! Glad y'all are modernizing it, definitely is the move
I love when all the boys upload the same day
If you can fit an x-pipe sorta crossover before it exits the car I think that would make the exhaust on this thing sound fantastic. Can’t wait to hear it running.
One of the arms of the lift wasn't even touching the damn car hahaha...wouldn't be standing under there Jimmbo!
Jimmy should be at 1m subs + this channel is a vibe
Mental note....
There's a channel on both sides of car in lower rockers for coolant hoses. 👊🏼
I would cut a a square out front and back near bottom of chassis and put a length of square tube through to run the lines through, can spot weld it to chassis and make it more rigid too
It's "fluition"...love ya Jim
Can you put the left header on the right side and vice versa to make them point back and down?
Spoon with a McFarland Fabrication shirt is hilarious.
Jimmy, if it makes you feel better… the F-15E 220 engine is only held on by 3 titanium bolts and produces almost 24,000 pounds of thrust in burner. Your 4 bolts for your engine are doing great haha
Next build. 992.2 drivetrain in 80’s 911 g body with PGK. TJ. Send the drivetrain to Jimmy.
Spoon repping the Cleetus merch was a wild crossover event
The plates that attach to the side of the motor get rubber silicone flat made as a bushing to sandwich in-between
Please put an X pipe in the exhaust. Love the build an would be a great first Sema car for the JimmyO team!!!
that surface rust under the brake boost/fuse box, also caused by the electricity from the fuse box through the bolts=> causes flaking of the paint.
So, headers go up, curl back into turbos in the rear wings, then down and out behind the wheels, intake feed runs inboard to a water-to-air charge cooler on the "front" wall of the engine bay, then into the intake.
Hi Jimmy and crew, very cool project! I’m sure you guys are aware of Renegade Customs from las vegas? They have perfected v8 conversions of various Porsches including air cooled 911s, and have the right sized radiator, fuel tank, lines for under the car etc. You should definitely get in touch with them so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel on the proven universal conversion parts, and instead focus on the Maserati specifics part. Good Luck!
Driftworks in the UK has a very cool set up for radiator on their V10 M3. Much smaller rads but 3 of them just behind the bumper.
Another great video, that’s going to be a cool little car when it’s all done, it’s definitely fun to watch the progress
Idea for the coolant lines. Taylor ray did aluminum lines through his miata, down the passenger side, for his dry sump. Maybe a good idea to get it though the chassis in a cleaner kind of way
Porati as a name goes HARD.
8-1 equal length headers has to sound mental!!
I can't be the only one who'd love to see this thing get the RWB treatment
Upgrade to the "Turbo Tie Rods" on the steering. Huge improvement on the feel.
What about running the oil cooler from a Carrera 3.2 in the right front fender, lines tuck under the rocker molding along the right side. You could mirror those lines on the left side (the way the ac lines run to the front condenser normally) for the coolant lines.
this car needs a crazy equal length 8-1 header. I know spoon would knock it outta the park.
You’re the best person for that car! Full custom outlaw from what you started with? This is gonna be a killer car!
I know it would be hell on spoon but what about doing an equal length 8 into 1 header Maserati V8 would sound absolutely amazing. And would absolutely be a work of art and fit the outlaw vibe of the car now
love what your doing with this now, but remember the front floor will either have to be open or louvered, the hot air needs a place to go otherwise it will heatsoak and overheat
I have the same issue. I do custom automotive paint and do a lot of airbrushing work, but I’ll make the tiniest of mistake and think I ruined a piece but no one else even see it but yet I’ll still spend hours trying to fix it or it drives me nuts. And now I even know that no one is going to see it and I still take the time to fix it before my head explodes.. lol
Jimmy, definitely seeing daylight between the front lift arm and chassis. Hopefully you guys strap that thing down since you just removed more weight from the front.
Jimmy and gang, y'all rock! Peace
Awesome work as always guys.
You might be able to get the surface rust off with a pneumatic needle scaler. You can get one at harbor freight pretty cheap
Could make a shroud to outlet the rad to vent out the hood to reduce heat next to fuel cell.
Would be awesome to see Magnus Walker feature this car on his channel when it's complete. Would be a sick crossover and I'm sure Magnus would be stoked on it
My first car is a 72 beetle and you guys talking about the dash is killing me. At first I was like duh the tack and knobs are hanging out in the frunk but I’ve also never had to take a dash apart to work on that stuff lmao
Jimmy I really think you should put some gussets underneath the motor mount itself it's relying on the tube only on one side of the mount Augusta would make it a lot stronger in case those wells ever break that motor won't shift just an idea
Dry ice blast 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That's a car you bring to Sema for sure it's definitely a show stopper and will blow minds.
Love you Jimmy ! Great timing
been enjoying this build
Looking forward to see how you handle the engine management.
Just a few gussets on that cradle 👌
Heeeeey whaat xD are those Weldas DEERSOsofts? Nice, I'm in the european Catalog 😂 finally after 32 years, and multiple people telling me to be a model, I got to be a model 😂😂 did it, made some cash and got my Starlet p80 a Rear brake disc conversion from a JDM Starlet Glanza 👌👌 Car guys being a car guys ❤
Yeah! You should put the bucket seat in the middle! Great idea.
With no sump theres lots of room under that motor for 180 degree headers. Could make this motor sound really cool.
Surely with that radiator fill neck set up you run a AN line and remote mount the fill neck to the top corner A. for it to be the highest point for bleeding and B. for ease of use filling it with coolant
Just a random thought
Mid 2000 corvettes stock air intake would probably be your best pre-made thing that would fit in the back
Man im loving these builds keep up the awesome work jimmy and team ❤
Make this your cleanest, sickest build and take it to Sema on the Link ecu display.
I love how every time Brian shows up during his lunch, you end up putting him to work. 😂 😝
11:29 i stil stink he says hahahaha xD GREETSFROMTHENETHERLANDS
Can't wait for some more proper metal work videos they are so damn good ❤
Love the swap. This will transform this car 👍 keep safe stick an exhaust stand under the rear of the car to stabilise it when the hoist is up. Acro prop works 👍
27 minutes in and you see the car not even touching the hoist arm behind jimmy 😂
Can't wait to hear this beast!!
Awesome guy's keep it up !
First thing I would have tried with that manifold is swapping the left for the right and have them pointing toward the rear. 16:53
