Don’t put bushings on the trans mount when you have an engine attached that’s solid mount to the same cradle. Allowing movement on one but not the other will transfer that movement into stress on the solid member. Let the cradle bushings do the dampening

Love how Jimmy always answers any questions anyone has no matter how beginner or expert level the question is. Steve owns he doesn’t know that much about the technical aspect of builds and it’s so cool how he always is asking questions. Some of those questions are maybe questions beginning car enthusiasts may have but would otherwise have to look up separately.

Why didn't you rubber mount the engine mounts instead of welding it directly to the sub frame? As the trans mount is rubber mounted, there may be some flex which may result in in cracked/broken engine mounts over time. Also, it solves the issue of clearing the dry sump system.

You are going to crack the aluminium casing of either the engine or gearbox by solid mounting the engine and silicone mounting the gearbox when you fire it up and rev it, the harmonics will be terrible. My advice, get some rubber into those engine mounts asap. I have a 996 gearbox here which ripped off the bellhousing when the engine mounts went bad. The reverse of such will have the same result. I am currently putting the same engine and gearbox (although 986 version) combo into a Lotus Evora.
