This is the only scene I can think of where one line set the tone for an entire series. After Pacey whispers "I remember everything", it felt like the world stood still and that Dawson's Creek couldn't end on a satisfying note unless Pacey and Joey ended up together.
That's the most fake thing from Pacey ever considering the fact that Pacey is a dumb kid who can't remember things to even pass his exams. Even Jack remembers the moments he had with Joey. So there's nothing special about Pacey.

Perfectly said. Joshua really nailed the line delivery. Same with Katie. You can really see her feelings shift more and more towards Pacey, all culminating with this moment. She feels so much guilt for not loving Dawson the same way anymore. And while there’s still drama throughout the series, she never really loves him the same way again after Pacey.
I am just in love with how Pacey could automatically sense something was wrong with Joey when she saw Dawson. He didnt see him but he sensed her tense up. The acting is so incredible, that is true love and intimacy on the screen. Still blown away so many years later.

I often wonder if I was watching the same show that others were, when they wanted Dawson and Joey to be the end game. It’s always felt like, “we’ve been friends forever so naturally we should date too.” It also felt like Joey couldn’t let go of this fantasy she had of being apart of Dawson’s perfect family, or growing beyond their friendship because it’s always been a safe space for her.

2:03 - "I remember everything" - probably the pinnacle of the show , the culmination of the love/hate between Joey and Pacey that had been building since day 1. And before the tangled mess that eventually came.
That whole remembering everything, is the fakest line ever. Pacey is a character who never really had any interest in Joey's life, now somehow remembers everything. Completely fake.

Without doubt that scene of Pacey and Joey dancing is my favourite scene in the entire season. The acting, dialogue and music are perfect. My heart breaks for them and for Andie. That look on Joey's face when Dawson sees them says EVERYTHING, there is so much sadness and pain in it. How anyone can defend Dawson for putting her through that is beyond me.
Us 90s/00s teenagers were blessed to have actors like Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Kerr Smith, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton in our teen dramas.

Lmao seeing this scene again made me realize how much of a brat Dawson was whenever he didn’t get his way. He really threw this whole entire prom to get Joey to fall for him again after he treated her like crap when they were together, didn’t care for her romantically afterwards and asked Pacey to be a shoulder to cry for her. He made people believe the reason to throw this anti-prom was about standing up for gay rights when really he couldn’t care less. He really just wanted to still go to Prom with Joey, which is fine- but earlier in the episode everyone cancelled Prom. A normal teenager would have just planned a hangout with the rest of the gang, but nope Dawson needed to plan out an entire prom just to get with Joey.... and used Jack’s problem as an excuse.

I've watched countless of TV shows, romantic movies. I write romance for a living, but this still is the most romantic scene I've ever seen. They did such a beautiful job with this story, and after this there was no way Pacey and Joey could not end up together.

I started off Team Dawson. And I loved Andie and Pacey together but Dawson became so entitled and unlikeable in season 3 I ended up rooting for Pacey and Joey just because I wanted better for Joey than Dawson. Always felt bad for Andie though. Dawson ended up treating Jen and Joey as pretty objects he wanted to own and show off. Pacey was always more interested in the person, and accepting of flaws.
20 years later I'm explaining to my teens what to look out for in relationships and friendships and using Dawson's Creek as an example. And Buffy, but that's mostly examples of unhealthy relationships!

One moment that doesn’t get enough credit is the parallel between how Andie and Dawson react. They’re both on opposite sides of the room watching the people they love fall in love with someone else. Andie reacts with so much empathy. She’s sad for herself too, but genuinely feels awful that they can’t be together. Meanwhile, Dawson reacts in jealousy. He’s furious because for the first time, he’s seeing their feelings on display.

I remember everything. The line that solidified my love for this wonder love story they were telling with Pacey and Joey. Just beautiful. To this day I still love watching all of their season 3 scenes in particular. Wonderful couple and some of the best chemistry on the show with Joshua and Katie. I also think this is the moment where Andie realizes how much Pacey loves Joey. Written all over her face watching them that she has lost Pacey for good!

The funny part is , i don't think Dawson really wants Joey romantically, he just wants her to remain his loyal fan/friend with eyes for no one but him. Once Pacey showed interest, that wrecked Dawson's little movie make believe world. If he really wanted Joey romantically, all he had to do was ask for it early on when Joey was crazy about him, and he knew it but didn't care.

But as a writer Pacey is the reason why i feel depressed when i think about writing my books,and my romantic characters...i mean,how on Earth will i ever be capable of writing romantic guys when the most perfect one was already created,everytime i try to write one i remember he exists and i feel useless as a writer.☹😄😍The writers really knew how to create a perfect guy and how to forbid any other writer to even try❤😅

Today i feel like good male characters like him are very rare. He is a treasure.
@@claricesilva2700 I think what made his character so great was that he was completely masculine and yet he was willing to be vulnerable, tender hearted, and didn't fear showing a level of devotion to the woman he loved. Nowadays they only write a male character with that kind of sensitivity as the gay best friend of the young girl. They allowed a heterosexual male teenager to use words of love as an expression of his inner truth rather than weaponized tools to run game on a girl. I think that's why so many women love him and see him as the man all others should aspire to be.

@@ashleyvera9693 You are are a Pacey fan so you will completely ignore all the things that Dawson did for others. In season 2, Dawson saved Joey and her father from death from the fire and the thugs. In season 4, Dawson saved Pacey and Jen from drowning at sea during the storm. And in season 5 Dawson saved Jack from drowning in the pool when he was drunk. Had Pacey been saving people from dying, then you would have completely accepted it and wouldn't have had a problem. You wouldn't have said that it was annoying. Instead you would have said how mature Pacey was. But when it was Dawson saving people, then you don't want to accept it but instead say that it is annoying. The fact is, Pacey always creates a mess for everyone, while Dawson clears the mess for everyone. But yes, it isn't annoying to you when Pacey makes all the mess for others. The one who is doing something good for others is annoying to you. But the one who makes other peoples lives difficult, is the one who isn't annoying to you. Dawson did not think about himself while saving others. He even had to repay Mr Brooks all by himself for the mess Pacey created. He was with Mr Brooks when he was dying. He gave money to Joey to go to college, he wrote her a recommendation for college, he was with Joey when her mom died and also when Joey broke her arm. He stayed all night and made Joey a fence because she didn't have one. He encouraged Jack to come out, and he saved Jen from having drunk sex with two guys. He visited Audrey in rehab even though she was the one who crashed the car into his home. Dawson did not think about himself while doing all that for others. But to you, it is annoying when Dawson thinks about himself and wants something. Pacey wanted Joey to be stuck in Capeside with him because he was only thinking about himself. He didn't think about Joey's future. Dawson on the other hand, knew how hard Joey worked and much it meant to her for getting out of Capeside and going to college. That is how biased you are. You have no morals. That's how low you are.

@@ashleyvera9693 So now you're making excuses to pardon Pacey. Every person who goes out to sea, knows to listen to the weather warning. But Pacey decided to ignore it, and like always, be immature and only think about himself. Had Dawson not taken the boat and saved Pacey and Jen, then you would have said how selfish Dawson was and always thought about himself. But now that Dawson took the boat and saved Pacey and Jen, then you are turning it around and making Dawson look like the criminal. Pacey should have been the one to repay Mr Brooks because he started the whole mess in the first place. Not Dawson. Pacey never stood up for Jack. The fact is, Pacey and the teacher already had a problem with each other. And they were both using Jack to get back at each other. So, Jack was just something for Pacey to use to get back at the teacher. And even then, Pacey spat in the teacher's face, got suspended, created a mess again, and like always, Dawson had to rescue him. Dawson had to provide sanctuary to Pacey in his bedroom during school hours when Pacey was suspended. They same way how Pacey again created a mess in season 3, when trying to get the guy who ruined Joey's school painting. Pacey decided to start a fight with the culprit, thinking that he was doing the right thing and serving justice. But instead, he made another mess where his actions got the school principal fired. Pacey made an innocent man lose his job. Dawson on the other hand, was able to catch the culprit just by questioning and cornering him. Dawson didn't have to make a mess to get a man fired and lose his job. The fact is, you had clearly asked me about the lives that Dawson saved. You were unaware of it and had ignored the lives that Dawson saved. You clearly accused Dawson of always thinking about himself. Because of your blindness and biasness, you were ignoring all the times Dawson thought about others. You were only paying attention to the good things that Pacey did and saw him as a God. While at the same time you were stupid enough to not be aware of all the good things that Dawson did for others and paint him as a bad person instead. If you were aware, you wouldn't have said that Dawson always thought about himself. The fact is, the things that Dawson has done for others is completely invisible to you and you like to ignore them. It just didn't occur to you all the good things that Dawson did for others until I started pointing it out to you. It was only then that you realized of Dawson's good deeds. Exactly how were you watching Dawson's Creek? Learn to watch Dawson's Creek with your eyes open.
This show shold be called, Everybody wants Joey.
One of my favorite scenes. I love Pacey. He deserves better. Joey is so emotionally unavailable and insecure. She doesn't know what she wants unless she's pushed by other people. She keeps changing boyfriends, fleeing from one friend / boyfriend to another, causing so much hurt and pain mostly on Pacey. He loves her but sometimes what he feels is also limerance. She feeds on his love. Even in the last episode, I was expecting Joey to speak wholeheartedly about this great man. But no.... it's never fully satisfying. The whole 6th season could have been built in a much better way, with Joey restoring Pacey (in the castaways episode) then finally providing assurance, security, certainty and love to Pacey. The only thing I can hope for is to have, one day, a Pacey for myself. I would never mistreat a great man like this the way Joey does.

Jesus I thought I am too old to ship new couples. Figures I needed a show that was running when I was still too young to watch it. Pacey gave me me butterflies again. I am sure there will be ups and down and I still have season 4,5,,6 ahead of me. A lot can change. Dawson and Joey are supposed to be endgame since minute 1 and I do like them. They have chemistry and are cute but now I am rooting for Joey and Pacey because how could you possibly write such a love story without realizing it's even better than the original one?

Does Dawson realise just how egoistic, jealous and arrogant he is being here. I don't think Dawson truly loves Joey, he wants to 'win' her over Pacey, and show him up. Doing so, does not make you a better man by any stretch of the imagination. It's no wonder why Joey chose Pacey - he's had his fair share of moments, but at every turn whatever he felt toward Joey, it was always genuine whether that was love or anger.
Dawson sees the way Joey looks at Pacey, and in that moment he realises, that she has never looked at him with such love, and that hurts him. Dawson doesn't seem to understand the difference between 'loving' someone, and being 'in love' with someone - Joey is in love with Pacey. And if Dawson claims to be the great friend that he is, then he would NOT stand in Joey's way, he wouldn't make her feel guilty, and it's not even about what she would miss out on, it's all about what he is missing out on with Joey!
If only he admitted that then he might have redeemed himself somewhat, here! But I'm glad Joey made the choice she did :)

Facts. Dawson did see that look on her face and it spoke volumes in regards to her desiring Pacey. Dawson immediately turned it into a contest because in his heart of hearts he always believed he was better than Pacey. He was sadly mistaken. Pacey always walked in his truth, where Dawson made up fantasies. Dawson didn't want Joey he just didn't want her to want Pacey.
NONE of that is true, she was danceing the pacey SO dawson left, on like when it was the other way around and pacey throw a huge fit.

I don't see you blaming Pacey for spying on Joey when she was changing her clothes in season 1. Whatever about Dawson was written by Joey, Dawson had every right to find out about it to know what people wrote and thought about him. After all, those things were only written by Joey, because Dawson existed in this world in the first place. And also, after Dawson did everything for Joey, such as being with her when her mom died and when Joey broke her arm, Joey still had negative thoughts about Dawson.
