Most ppl think they're immersing themselves in the characters' lovestruck POV and that it was rlly sweet. For me I think it's really sweet too but I'm simultaneously indulging, imagining but also detaching myself from the whole thing. A tiny part of my instinct is just snorting at how cliche things are 😂

The music, the atmosphere, this version of Jane Austen Book is absolutely a masterpiece : ohhhhI would love to be Lizzie Bennet !!! Matthew Macfaden is the perfect M. Darcy. This scene and the other when he declared the very first time his love to Lizzie when it’s raining !!! Gosh I saw maybe 15 times Prixe and prejudice : it’s the perfect love/passion romance!!!

My favorite of all is “the notebook” i’m in love with this film 💕
for me "One Day" is actually the best romance movie I've ener seen (and trust me I have watched almost every single one of them). Every time I watch it my heart begins to hurt. It is so realistic, the love between Dexter and Emma is so pure, unique and the movie shows a love story I imagine experiencing (begins from a friendship to something complicated and hard to define, stops after a little bit and then evolves to a lifetime commitment). They are what they call soulmates. No matter in which life-phase the two characters are, they love each other and they think about each other. The viewer can actually feel this love. This movie fills me with so many emotions. I could never imagine that a movie could have such a huge impact to me. No matter how many times I watch it I always cry.

Pride & Prejudice 2005 has to be one of my all-time favourite movies. I am not big on romance but I LOVE that scene.
How Darcy WALKS to her home at the break of dawn when he very well could've taken a carriage soon after discovering Elizabeth didn’t deny to his aunt she wouldn't refuse a proposal from him. How Lizzie was restless after she had come to the realization her feelings for Darcy had changed and she was in love with him. The way her expression oh so subtlely changes as she realises the figure approaching through the fog is not a figment of her imagination and it is really him. The way the fog fades as Darcy gets closer to her. The way he stutters as he is unable to fully express the magnitude of his feelings when he once again puts it all on the line and confesses his love. The way Elizabeth accepts his proposal by stepping towards him, caressing his hand, tenderly kissing it and saying "your hands are cold" (the saying, "cold hands, warm heart" comes to mind) as the sun rises in the background illuminating them both making it appear as if they are one entity. And the contrast between the dark gloom prior to his declaration to the bright warmth of the sun as they embrace. All the symbolism with the hands, atmosphere, lighting etc. just UGH! This fucking scene, man 😭😭😭

YES. This is why that's one of my favorite book adaptations, ever. That mood isn't in the book and the scene in the rain doesn't exist, but somehow Joe Wright found a way to convey all the sentiment of the book with his imagery. It's just... so visually stunning you can't help but fall in love with them yourself.

No one "deserves" to be loved. That's not how this works. Look at all the repeat cheaters and beaters that have someone, the serial killer couples, none of them are good or deserving. But love like grass does grow best where you water it.
I think all these single people come from a generation being feed the lie everything is too much work. So now if it's not perfect fulfilling every fantasy most guys run because what looks like a chance at a relationship, looks to guys like responsibility. Men are also willingly single due to no judgement against them for it. Women tend to cling to ideas of love and romance due to society pushing it like with these movies. Also by tying it to women's self worth, is she desirable? On the up side women in relationships have a legion of problems, a single woman basically one, that she has no man.
Bc we have exceedingly high expectations that have been cultivated from (unrealistic) fictional works of books and film.

I’ve not seen half of these movies. I do find it interesting that Kiera knightly version is the one talked about most on pride and prejudice. I prefer either the 1980 version with Elizabeth Garvie or Colin Firth. Though this scene is really sweet in the Knightley version.

CASTAWAY - TOM HANKS LEAVES HELEN HUNT AFTER BEING RESCUED. He starts to leave and she runs out in the rain and stops him. She gets in the car...this is the best part because his delivery is perfect. It is hard to discern if he is "telling" her or "asking" her when he says, "You have to go". She simply nods her head.
The most romantic for me will probably always be when Darcy returns to Lizzie.
And the most heartbreaking one is when he meets her in the rain.

Great top. I would chose Jerry Maguire too. One of the most romantic movies for me. Try the scene where she says '' You had me at hello''. One day is my favorite book of all time. Yes, it's a devastating story but it's about a mature relationship... with more chances of being real. Love the chemistry between Jim and Anne, the 2024 series even though I loved it we' re not so faithful to the book original.

love rosie is such a perfect little love story 🥺 it’ll always have a place in my heart bc it’s one of the few newer romance movies that feel genuine and authentic. Like you know they’re not 80s n 90s romcom, the movie is modern yet gives that feeling of when you watch a classic, something I rarely feel watching newer romance these days.

Call me delusional or just being weird ..but have u ever through its hard to be in love ?..sure we’ve had crushes and thought someone was cute but the thought of being IN LOVE is just sensational and scary. Just being with that one person who makes u feel so happy when your around them but terrified it will be destroyed. For me the word “love” doesn’t just mean romance love with two complete strangers but the feeling of safety and happiness..the feeling of warmth when your with someone you actually truly love. 🥺
Nowadays when you’re in a relationship, saying the word “I love u” is a required thing Bc that’s what people think they need to say but haven’t thought of what that word means. People use it as if it is a basic thing, the word love is idk ..it’s scary and lovely, there is a Bible verses that quotes about love but I can’t remember it.. if you guys may search it up that that’s basically what I mean. 😅

And I can totally relate to overthinking things... at 32 I still do it. But my husband loves me anyway and he is so very supportive and encouraging. I'll be praying God brings somebody like that for you.
We women will always have a tendency to overthink things. When youre with the right person, that warm and butterflies in your stomach will still be there, but when mature love comes, that feeling will just be warm and comfy, and sort of feeling of 'safety', sort of confidence, that hes yours. Hope anyone reading this finds theirs, a partner that would give em the feeling of love and safety.
Love is not butterflies and warmth. Love is a decision you make every day. Butterflies die, warmth cools, but love endures of you stand by your decision to love no matter what. Don't believe Hollywood or you will live life like a yo-yo, falling in and out of love with people, unsteady as a leaf in a storm.
