I don't know how much you know of rimworld AA, but the way you've built your house is terrible for insulation. You're gonna want to put those corner blocks sooner rather than later, as a lot of heat escapes through there. Eventually, you're going to want to do a double wall to dramatically increase your insulation.
Put the tailoring bench outside; Buildings don't take condition dmg for being outdoors and the outdoor speed penalty for crafting is actually a bonus. You gain tailoring, construction, mining, cooking and crafting experience based on the time you spend doing the action, so if a shirt takes twice as long to make, you gain twice as much XP.
If you have a colonist you want to kill, set up a sleeping spot, set it to medical, and add an operation "euthanize by cut" into the medical tab of the pawn, they'll be killed immediately and without risk of a mental break. Or trap them in between solid rock walls until they stop moving.
You probably also want to hold off on deconstructing those ship chunks until you need the metal, as having a higher construction skill yealds more materials (at lvl 20, you get ~20 components per ship chunk)

corners will help with the temp. also build a second ring of walls with a gap of at least two to further insulate the heat in your center walls. wall material doesn't affect insulation without mods.
@@t_y8274 the best way to keep heat or cold is double thick walls with a single gap between a outershell. The gap size doesnt matter.

@@Andrew-bi1qs he could’ve shrunk down the building, used the steel, stone, and extra wood for not having to heat a large room (one fireplace) and then double sided those walls with whatever was around it. Far more efficient use of the resources at hand

You've probably recorded these in advance, but the next time you send someone out to freeze, you can tend their frostbite before they die for medical training.

Cold and polar bears cannot stop Jeremiah "Orange" Gottwald.
Darklight is being chased by mechs, when he comes across this lone survivor and begs for help, the lone survivor agrees, almost ignoring the threat the mechs propose as he stares at Darklight with hunger in his eyes. As he enters the small shack and stands near the torch in the center, the lone survivor scribbling on and mumbling about stoneworks. Awkwardly, he attempts to make small talk with the stranger, since he keeps mumbling about stonework, maybe he likes art. The two chat, while the newcomer strips and leaves his clothes on the ground, before leaving the shack and walking out into the water of the frozen north. He will stand here, he needs to stand here.
Hey, if you ever decide to mod this series, I recommend "Bad people" it allows you to give anyone a cannibal trait by forcefully feeding them raw human meat (or a paste meal made out of human meat). Also, not sure if you're aware, but you can stack raw and cooked cannibalism mood buffs at the same time for a total of +28 to mood (+15 for cooked cannibalism, you can use paste for that, +20 for raw cannibalism and -7 for ate raw food), so I recommend nutrient paste dispenser ASAP.
Just want to say thank you for installing the celcius mod.
Just a heads up: If you shoot an enemy a whole bunch, to the point where it says "Death in X hours," you can usually kite them around for a bit (especially if their movement has been reduced from their injuries,) and they should first become downed without dying.
If you get enough spare resources you could double wall your hut for some more insulation from the cold I think
Double Door is less coslty and will give a good boost.

I don't know what "boost" is, and this worries me.
@@davysmith1934 first thing that came to mind was forcing yourself into an adrenaline boost through pain or something like that, but I doubt that's what they meant.
Another good option for survival in the frozen wastes is finding a thermal vent. You can just build around the geyser and it will keep the room heated for free. I don't know if I saw one on your current map though.
If you're in the mood for an effective guide with a soothing German accent there's Pete Complete, who did a very similar run a while back.

I saw a guy who did something like this with a solo naked old lady. He built a tiny hut around a gas geyser. Slowly he expanded and ate who came by... and used them for medical training by repeadingly beading and tending to them till they froze to death. Then they ate them.

I don't really remember where I first encountered AA, but I can't remember a time when I wasn't watching his content. I don't even play Rimworld, but watching him play is so.. soothing and calming. I love just listening to him talk. 10/10 AA, love all that you do.

Idk if you know but if you're looking for reliable electricity, hydroponics and biofuel can make a perpetual motion machine. It takes less biofuel to power the generators and lamps than they end up producing once you refine the products.
