Your wood shed is nicer than the best piece of furniture I've ever owned.
It's nicer than the apartment I'm living in 🥲
Lol. That’s funny
@@julien.2573😂😂😂
This shed in North America would cost you about $50k if you paid a professional 😅
@@terenceyuen4424 Who is he trying to impress ? I 'm assuming he will carefully select only firewood that is worthy of his ridiculous creation.
Meticulous? No, it’s just pride in craftsmanship. This is becoming a lost art, and you are a master. Thank you for sharing with us!
Craftsmanship is being meticulous..
Meticulous... went way past that. He's in the 1%
That's the best looking woodshed, I've ever seen. A picture of it loaded with firewood would be great to see.
I too would love to see that.
Im still amazed at the engineering that goes into Japans housing. Made to last many lifetimes. Exceptionally beautiful work Shoyan!!
"Im still amazed at the engineering that goes into Japans housing. Made to last many lifetimes."
You would think, but Japanese homes are only built to last 25 years. They aren't built nearly as well as this woodshed. When you buy a home in Japan, it isn't an investment like in the US. You expect the value of the home to fall to 0 in just 10-15 years. In Japan homes are to live in while in the US they are stores of value for the banks.
@@shanedevon6447 I live in a 150 year old Japanese house and I found one rotted floor joist. Pine on the ground will tend to do that after a century or so lol.
The main reason that there might not be many old houses around anymore (thats debatable btw) is because they either burned down at some point, or it became easier to tear them down and build a new home rather than modernize an old one.
That isn't a woodshed, it's art with a day job. ❤
Your carpentry skills will hopefully be passed down to future generations and should be considered a national treasure. Skill, art, pride in workmanship, your videos have it all. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
I am 58 years old with 38 years of experience in carpentry from rough to cabinetry and furniture. You choose to make utility structures. I am impressed with your species choices matching special use requirements, and overall design purpose verse astatic balance. This is also a very good video showing "proper" attitude and skills in fastener applications.
I wish I had someone like you teaching me when I was an apprentice carpenter. I absolutely look forward to all your videos.
Shoyan, you are a Master Carpenter and meticulous is normal for you. This is why I enjoy watching your work no matter what the project is as the quality is excellent. This wood shed will outlast it owner and he should be very, very pleased with the workmanship. 👍🏼🔨😎
I love the foundation and how the sill sits way above the ground like that! Especially to preserve the sill it’s just a smart move I doubt you’ll ever regret. And that joinery… it’s stunning and will last through the ages not to mention it’s beautiful and quality well built structure! We need more of this craftsmanship. Joinery is something I’m passionate about so it’s just fascinating to watch! This reminds me a bit of Man About Tools, you ought to check out his YT channel because you both are similar to build technique and style
I learned more in twenty minutes watching this video than I have in hours of scouring the internet for information on how to build. Thank you, Shoyan for sharing! I am looking forward to watching your videos and learning more!
Shoyan-san, the wood shed is a thing of beauty. The materials, craftsmanship and style remind me of my time touring rural Japan - one of the best times of my life. Arigato gozimas for sharing this video.
Awesome job. There's no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to woodworking and building. Great video as always, cheers :)
A woodshed for the ages. Beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship !!! All that beautiful wood, especially cedar !!! I could smell the Sawdust !!!
I really enjoy watching Japanese carpentry. And what could be better than watching you building the world's best looking wood shed. 👍😃
My man it's an absolute delight to see someone put this much effort into a woodshed. Well done!
I love when structures are over designed. They will last far beyond the usual life span. 100 years from now it will still serve.
I love watching Japanese carpentry. These are true craftsmen who take pride in their work.
This is mind blowing. I rarely comment, but, yeah. This is amazing. Great inspiration for my own woodshed!
That is so beautiful! I love the effort into detail you put. And I love the fact you chose nails instead of screws for the gable ends of the woodshed for aesthetics.
Patience, attention to detail is highly admiral. Every project is a work of art
There are modern houses in the UK built with less care and attention. Love Japan and the care and attention to detail in the way things are made.
Your meticulous attention to detail truly paid off in this stunning woodshed build! Your commitment and craftsmanship are truly inspiring. Subscribed to your channel for more amazing projects like this one!
All I can say is WOW. That's the most beautiful wood shed I've ever seen. Cost of building a shed of this quality in the United States would be astronomical. Excellent work.
Just discovered your channel, binge watching and subscribed.
Japanese work ethic and craftsmanship is an example to the rest of the world. Thank you for showing us.
A TRUE MASTERPIECE OUTSTANDING VERY WELL DONE
Only Shoyan would hand cut dovetails and bring a hand planer to use on the frame of a shed. Beautiful work like always!
I’ve watching it four times now. Just enjoy watching a Master Work on something that I like seeing it go up.. Thank you, my friend
Well done again! The instrument you used to measure the diagonals with the angles on the end was quite interesting.
Hello from Canada! I wanted to say, I enjoy watching your videos because of all the care and details you put into your work! I am an amateur woodworker, and strive for your level of care and skill.
Same! If I can accomplish 1/10 of the quality of that work I will feel accomplished 😅
You should definitely visit Japan people over there take pride in their work. Even McDonalds food looks and taste way better 😅
Beautifully done! You are an artist. Hopefully woodshed owners realize what a masterpiece they have! Excellent video making technique, very professional! Fun to watch. 美しく完成しました! あなたはアーティストです。 薪小屋の所有者が自分たちがどれほど傑作を持っているかを理解してくれることを願っています。 優れたビデオ作成技術、非常にプロフェッショナルです。 見ていて楽しい。
This is true craftsmanship! It's a joy to watch! Great work also with the video and editing/explanations!
never see so good carpentry japan have to be one of the best how they build buildings! love to travel to japan and look on the houses ^^ love japanese food!
This video is food for the soul. Great craftmanship.
Absolutely beautiful - a work of art from skilled hands. Thank you for sharing.
fantastic job. The build, skill and materials are all top notch.
End result looks amazing. I would have thought the roof would be in nice coloured corrugated steel or is cedar used everywhere. 👍😀😀
You're truly a wonderful craftsman. Thank you for sharing this!
The shapes and geometry of this design are very pleasing to the eye. Meticulous is right, but absolutely worth it. Thank you for taking the time to show us and also to provide an English language commentary track.
The pain of needing to use variety of fastners, screws and nails of different sizes, really slows down the process. Despite all of those insignificant obstacles you still accomplished a lot of work in one day.
Japanese carpentry such exquisite work
Awestruck. When I grow up I want to be Shoyan. Amazing work. Keep building.
Amazing work! If I could spend a month working for you I would learn so much. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I enjoy the mixing traditional carpenter art with modern hardware and mashines.
Is this my new favorite channel on CZcams? 😀
I’m always appreciative of the attention to details and craftsmanship of the wood worker in japan. It makes me want to try it but the wood quality here in my place is very different from that in japan. None the less it makes me relax watching this video. Extra bonus to the english narration
Thank you so much for posting your content. I love watching this beautiful process take place. Greetings from Northern California, USA!
I love the usage of safety helmets while standing on lose board bridged between two ladders.
Viewing this video from start to finish just proves the expertise you have at planning, cutting and assembling this wood shed. I hope the customer is satisfied with the result. Thankyou for the video. Stay safe.
Thank you Shoyan! Beautiful work as always
Great work! 👍🏾😎Looks great. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from 🇩🇪
more time invested in planning and building properly can yield decades more in longevity. this is the proper way to do it.
A Rolls Royce woodshed, from an Artisan whose own high standards are on a par!....Kudos Sir!
That was beautiful. Thank you for your awesome workmanship.

A joy to watch and listen to.
thx for sharing this build, I always enjoy watching you work on various projects. Excellent skills.
Wow...!!! So Beautiful to see you work. Thank you for sharing. Arigato.
Wow this channel is like the japan version of Essential Craftsman. Love it!
What amazing craftsmanship. Japanese woodworking is some of the best i have ever seen.👍
Such fine craftsmanship. Very good thanks for sharing.
Lovely job Shoyan.👍👍
Beautiful work, masterfully executed
Pretty sure you're correct, and "batten" is the English term whether it's for roofing or wall sheathing. The only way it wouldn't be called a batten, would be if it were the same size as the roof board.
YOU CAN NEVER GET TOO METICULOUS.
AWESOME HUMANS
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR ABILITIES
A simply beautiful structure, which reflects on the skill and quiet passion of the master who built it 👏
Thank you for sharing and showing your skill, craftsman-ship and ''how-to''.
あなたのスキル、職人技、「ハウツー」を共有し、示していただきありがとうございます。

That’s the most beautiful wood shed I’ve ever seen. Well done.
I very much enjoy watching you work. It inspires me to do better 😊
Beautiful shed, craftmanship and design are stunning! I will draw some inspiration from your work. Thank you so much for sharing your work, French carpenter in America.
Greetings Sir from South Africa. At 8.12 in the video I see behind you some very big and beautiful beams that looked worked-on. I would love to see what you are doing with them. You have beautiful skill.
I always a lot from your videos. Thank you so much! 😊
Hi. Watching your videos are fantastic. It is a work of art
it will last for 100 years...amazing work
Excellent work as always
Lovely work - as always
Your craftsmanship is spectacular. Thank you😎🙏✌️
Great work! And beautiful wood! I’d love to see it aged. I imagine it’ll have a great quality that shines brighter and brighter over time.
The shed is much better than my indoor furniture what I have built. great job.
Outstanding! That isca work of art. Cheers
Shoyan you inspire us all
Incredibly beautiful work ❤❤❤
Absolutely beautiful!
Great work by a “good man”
Should we discuss the awesome lumber he has access to? U can't find that in the states unless u pay an arm and a leg. The craftsmanship here is next level.
Very very beautiful work as always!!!👌👍💯
Totally awesome work.
The effort for building a simple woodshed is impressive. Better build as some houses. Greetings from Germany
I learn a great deal from watching your channel
I have the deepest respect for Shoyans knowledge and quality of work! Everything is just beautiful! I live in Sweden and do small carpentry myself. I have a couple of questions:
1) is quality wood cheap in Japan? Or is all the videos from customer-homes etc?
2) im curious about so much. Could you please make a special episode where you ask him viewers questions? How old is he? Are you two related? What education did he get, or did he learn from his father? How long has he worked as a carpenter?
Thank you for the english voiceover and subtitles!!
Kind regards
Sweden
I live in the Japanese countryside, and as for your first question, no, lumber is quite expensive. However, the forests are full of Cypress and Cedar so if you can cut down and mill your own lumber, then it's a different story. The old saw mills are hanging on by a thread, being operated by guys in their 70s, so you can find older lumber for cheap if you know people.
Regular stores mostly just sell Canadian Douglas Fir.
Well done 👍. Splendid is an understatement !
Woodsheds that are built better than most office blocks. Incredible..
that thing aint going nowhere! good job
Beautiful woodshed. 👍
I'd trust that woodshed in a storm before my own home 😂. Man that's amazing! Most Americans wouldn't want to pay for this detail. Really can't say enough it's just crazy the amount of detail.
That's the most luxurious firewood rack that I've ever seen in my life.
excellent as always
Beautiful!
i love how these great artisans, despite of age, are embracing the online platforms to share their work. good job and have a long life to you.
edit:
i think i'm hearing samurai matcha doing the english voice-overs, if so good job then.
Excellent!!
