  • This Film Was originally Made In 1991 As a take home souvenir to be able to enjoy the park from your own living room. It differs from the magic kingdom video and replaces a touring family with Disney characters riding with fellow park attendees . This version includes parts of the Fantasmic show introduced a few years latter.

    This is something of my childhood, I loved this as a kid. Sometimes my family and I watched this the night before we'd go to Disneyland, or whenever we wanted, but right before we'd go to Disneyland was more special. Now as an adult, I cry when watching this, liquid nostalgia, I guess. Thank you for posting this. :')

      @The Best Western The Retro Decade Revival Project will bring them back and raise them up to the top. Our goal is to bring real entertainment, true talents, pure originality and diversity, old school, and more back into the public mainstream, starting with the 1980s. Cancel culture will be extinct, more entertainers will roam New Orleans Square, marches will be better and unique, hand-drawn cel-animated feature films will make a permanent comeback, and more good things will return to their original brilliance.

    Right around this time, or maybe a couple years later when they opened Indiana Jones, is when I would have liked to have visited Disneyland. Most of the classic stuff was still around - Peoplemover, Country Bears, Fort Wilderness, Swiss Family Treehouse, original Pirates of the Caribbean, Submarine Voyage - and it had just gotten most of its really good new stuff.

    While it would be cool if Disneyland created a new, up to date version of this, what you have to understand is that this VHS souvenir met a specific need at a specific time. Back in the 80s and 90s, this was the only way to have a video memory of your visit, unless you owned a handheld camcorder and you went to the trouble of recording one yourself. Nowadays, Disney diehards record their own high quality videos of the parks and post them all over CZcams for anyone in the world to see. For Disneyland to create and sell their own video souvenir would be redundant at this point.

    • @peterzimmer9801
      @peterzimmer9801 Před 2 lety

      To be honest, there are some Disneyland vloggers who create beautiful content at the parks and the quality is a product of that. I mean, some of them pour their hearts into the content and I think the general subscribers feed off of that positivity. But I can really see your logic/point. It would be super cool to see an updated version of this in 2022. I just don’t know who would purchase the video at Disneyland (or stream it on disney+) if you can watch those videos on CZcams now. Media and film has evolved since the 90’s. Some good and some bad. But I can say that the vloggers I have followed…created special content on their CZcams channel and they all had some different.
      So good points.👍🏻

    Back then Disneyland wasn't expensive back then

    • @DarthBrtt
      @DarthBrtt Před 3 lety

      Yeah. With inflation, DL tickets should still only be about $65-$70 today. Disney jacked up prices and price-gouged during the entire 2010 decade way more than what they should have. The current ticket price of $105-$125+ is the equivalent of paying $65-$70 in 1993, which shows you how they increased prices about double what they should be in the last decade.
      Disneyland was never cheap, but it was totally affordable and easy to go with a family of 4 or 5. Not anymore. Walt would be completely ashamed of what his company has turned into now.

    I always wondered why all the music from the rides and especially the main street electrical parade are all some weird midi/awful redub

      Probably didn't want to pay for the licensing fees to use the original audio or they didn't have access to the original audio. But then they splurged on the budget when they added Fantasmic! and used all of the real show audio. The revised MK video also used Spectro-Magic's soundtrack too.

    • @DarthBrtt
      @DarthBrtt Před 3 lety

      Yeah, they cut-out the Alice & Mad Hatter scenes for whatever reason in this '93 version. But like you said, the audio from the original scene is still heard and bleeds into the IASW fade-in.
