- These are 100$ eBay special headers. They're actually good quality and I recommend them. I also recommend buying good gaskets because the provided ones are not great. Hardware is grade 3 but will do fine. Keep in mind that my truck is modified quite a bit so the fitment issues I experienced you won't. The only thing I think you'll have to deal with on a stock motor is bending the dip stick tube.
You were lucky to find those headers. I used a Morana adapter plate, to use 1998 mustang GT headers.
I found them on eBay for 100$
As a 97 Ford Ranger owner the curse words come with the territory. And like i always say Ford must be owned by Snap On tool and you need most of there tool line and a few healthy choice words to get the job done.😊
Will it cause check engine light off I decided not to tune it
Where did find the headers
Hey man im doing the same thing to mine. I know not to trust the gaskets that come with the headers but what are the "upgraded" gaskets... where do i find them? Thanks.
I would just get some felpros from whatever parts store you use. They're good quality.
@@1967fordable and they will fit my JBA shorty headers?
Is it harder to replace the spark plugs in it now?
It's actually 10x easier because of the extra room. It makes most things easier to be honest.
@@1967fordable ok thinking of getting the jba headers for my new 3.0L crate engine I got imma do a supercharge build should sound cool with them
What kind of ranger do you have I’ve been thinking about putting headers on mine I modified everything else besides that and a tune I did a bbk throttle body I started with a cold air but i took everything out as far as the intake part and made room for a bigger filter and piping and I did a glass pack with three inch piping from the cat back to a downpipe just out the cab
It's an 02 4.0 4x4. The headers don't do much beside look better. My main reason for putting them on was broken studs on the stock manifolds. I'll be redoing the exhaust soon with 2.5" from the headers back.
@@1967fordable did you have to tune it or got a check engine light or anything
I did them based on broken hardware and looking better. Everything I had read in forums said the gain zero power and only make the engine bay louder. I was fine with that as long as I could fix my exhaust leaks.
is it faster though
No, it's not but I don't have to deal with exhaust leaks as much and they're much prettier.
Beast mode
What size motor
This is a 4.0 SOHC
Any difference?
I honestly can't say there's much of a difference. I was already catless with a mostly custom exhaust, so there wasn't a difference in sound. Power doesn't seem improved either but I can't imagine it would've gained much being that they're designed the same and the factory logs. I can however say that it solved my problem of having horrible mounting hardware. My factory logs had been on and off so much that the hardware was shot but rusted in so I really had no choice.
