Ford Ranger Off Road Damage P.1
I caused this damage when on an obstacle in Hot Springs and it progressed to a point that I could no longer trust my steering. This is the first part of the process to fix it all. P.2 gets pretty wild.

      I honestly can't say there's much of a difference. I was already catless with a mostly custom exhaust, so there wasn't a difference in sound. Power doesn't seem improved either but I can't imagine it would've gained much being that they're designed the same and the factory logs. I can however say that it solved my problem of having horrible mounting hardware. My factory logs had been on and off so much that the hardware was shot but rusted in so I really had no choice.

  • @gmichie1
    @gmichie1 Před rokem

    I had the very same problem. Auto repair place quoted $700 because they would have to remove the panel and send it to a certified repair place. They said it had something to do with the odometer. I used the 25 pound telescoping magnet from Harbor Freight that I already had. I took me longer to disassemble the magnet from the pole then to fix this issue using this method. Be sure to put the magnet behind the needle and push it and twist the magnet as you go around. It took 20 seconds to swing the needle around and tested it successfully.

    I definitely need to chat with you. I got a 2001 Ranger with 4.0 and the same auto 5R55E transmission. The trans pan was leaking before I got it, but that was minor. The radiator supports were rotted out and I didn't know it. On a long road trip, the radiator was then damaged and the trans cooler lines started leaking. I replaced the radiator and the cooler lines seemed to be not leaking after one was cut, flanged, and a longer rubber hose was attached. Weeks later the transmission started slipping/not going into gear, and I realized very suddenly that it was leaking/bleeding again, but now from other places I can't quite locate without being on a lift. The fuel for picking it up cost me 160$ and the truck itself cost me 400$. The seller threw in a set of freshly machined 4.0 SOHC cylinder heads as well as a 4x4 hub bearing. I sold the cylinder heads for 300$ after sitting on them for 8 months. I sold the hub for 50 at around 6 months. I scrapped the truck after squeezing every good part I could off of it as spares for 220$ which only cost me my fuel. In the end I profited.
