- Celtic Football Club are the only team in Scotland to have been European CHAMPIONS! They're truly one of the most famous football teams the world has ever seen.
They play in the Scottish Premiership and contest the Old Firm Derby against Glasgow rivals, Rangers. Their home stadium, Celtic Park (or Parkhead) is Scotland's biggest football stadium.
In this video, I tried to cram in their entire history... from Brother Walfrid forming the club in the 1800s to Jock Stein to Neil Lennon. If there's anything I've missed, drop me a comment, it's hard to fit it all in!

Fantastic video. You're spot on about Willie Maley not having a statue. I think he is the second longest serving manager ever in world football. Him and Jimmy McGrory should both have greater recognition, be it a stand or a statue. A big thing to mention is that there have been 3 competitive top level British championships and Celtic have won all of them, in 1902, 1938 and 1953. And also worth a mention in any history of Celtic is the quadruple winning 1907-08 team who won all 4 competitive trophies entered. They defended the first ever double as well as winning both regional trophies as part of the (then) world record 6 in row title run.
Also a few interesting facts, Celtic were the first club in the world to win a Treble (League, Cup, continental cup), and hold the joint world record for domestic trebles with Rangers, both clubs on 7 trebles each. Celtic have won the most doubles in Europe (19) and won the first 3 doubles ever won in Scottish football.

I know it might be a lot to ask but doing these 20 minute style videos for Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs would be really interesting and would also be a good reflection on your channel because the biggest critisism of media up here is the focus on Celtic and Rangers. Celtic and Rangers histories are very well known and I think there would be a lot of engagement if you did a video on all of the Big 5 clubs. Just a suggestion of course, love the channel.

Celtics first ever match against the now defunct rangers was actually across the road behind Celtic park where the cemetery now sits. They moved across to the current site after a dispute with the owner of that land.

100% Celtic are the biggest and most supported team in Scotland. Celtic fans are more warm and welcoming to others. but Celtic is very multi cultural and diverse so it doesnt matter what race or religion you are Celtic is open ta all. Yes most Catholics in Scotland support Celtic but about 40% of Celtic fans are protestants ( most not church goers) and the the majority of the Muslim community in Glasgow support Celtic too......Celtic love and embrace life and people......the other side of the city very much the opposite .

As for not seeing Scottish flags at Celtic Park, you obviously haven't watched many Celtic games or are telling a plain lie. There is a Scotland flag that flies above the ground and at least 2 Scotland supporters club flags at every game in the North stand and Jock Stein stand upper. @@terryroche8227 there were 9 games left for some teams and the season finished in March. The season then wasn’t fully complete and would have finished without fans so therefore last season doesn’t count if this seasons doesn’t too?
