The March Of The Black Queen is the crazy older sister of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Ha - thanks, Mori - well said!
And My Fairy King is the mother of both songs.
Wow I have never thought about it that way.
Doe I will suggest that both Queen & Queen ii albums are the development of the bands future. Your correct about your points on both the guitar & drums been the Queen sound.
One album I do suggest you do a reaction to is Made In Heaven. But when you listen to it I suggest no make up on because your guaranteed to cry through it. Songs such as
Mother Love
Beautiful day
Well worth been reacted to on there own but the whole album is awesome in my opinion xx
This comment just made my day hahahahahhaa it was truly true
Very true
The Queen II album will repeatedly blow your mind. The whole album is grandiose and excessive and heavy, and the songs blend together.Everything you love about Queen to the Nth degree.
I wholeheartedly agree!❤
I agree too. The whole album is epic. I especially love "Father to Son"
@@philbroadley8824 my favourite Queen song is WHITE QUEEN, but FATHER TO SON is my second favourite
The reason it ends like that, it goes straight into Funny How Love Is on Queen II
Ahhh I see
Which, compared to March of the Black Queen, sounds like it was recorded in a much inferior way. The sound quality is much worse, despite the fact that MotBQ is way more complicated.
@@NeilDohertyMusic Never been one of my favourites FHLI
@@NeilDohertyMusic It’s sounds like they were going for a Phil Spector, wall of sound kind of thing on “Funny How Love Is.” I didn’t used to like that song, but it’s grown on me. The lyrics are simple, and yet they’re very likable.
@@crescentfreshbret Yes....that's EXACTLY what Freddie was goin' for...another Phil Spector 'Wall of Sound' attempt as the other two he'd done was under the name of Larry Lurex. This would be an original Queen 'Wall of sound' tho.
Side note: Instead of Freddie sounding like any of the typical singers from Phil Spector (Ronnie Spector)...Freddie sounded more like early CHER instead...IMO 😉!
Side 2 (the black side) of Queen 2 is quite simply some of the greatest music ever captured on tape. It’s Science!!!!
It's another Freddie masterpiece of fantasy, mythology, esoterica etc another song that shows the musical skills of Queen. Queen were about pushing themselves to new heights, never staying in a 'box' but exploring different styles of music and never fearing to combine. Freddie refused to be boxed in to one style, genre of music. Early Queen was not your typical 'radio' friendly music, something i believe Freddie realised that they would have to change as the music scene changed. I love the late Queen music but for me early Queen was something special, not for the average 'radio' listener but to expand the consciousness of the fantasy, myth etc and to appreciate that each member of Queen was indeed a true musician.
Thanks, Steven! well said...
Queen II is my favorite Queen album, and The march of the Black Queen my favorite song!! I'm so happy you reacted to it!
Mine too!
Mine too. My favourite album ever.
Same here! I think "Queen II" is the best album of all time in our world.
A Freddie mercury classic
God i miss him
Me too 😭
to answer your question on what you just witnessed, you witnessed pure musical genius! I saw them do their first 3 albums in their entirety in Charleston SC on march 16th 1975; I have never witnessed anything like it in all the years since then and I have been to thousands of concerts........they didnt use fancy lights or any gimmicks.....just let the music do the talking.....I sat 12 feet from Freddie in that concert and it is the best memory of my life!!!!
omg that sounds incredible!!!
Saw them in Syracuse NY in the same year, they didn't do the 3 albums, but enough to blow my mind!
Whoa! You’re so lucky to have seen them! I almost got to see them, but it was all guys (family friends) and out of town.😮❤
The thing I love about Queen II is that it's a flowing album. Every single song connects and fades into the next... It's mesmerizing. The March of The Black Queen (one of my favourites on the album) melts into Funny How Love Is. 🖤
Queen II was an absolute masterpiece that never gets the credit it deserved. You summed it up brilliantly - a whole opera in one song: ballad to rock to lullaby and back again. And Freddie's early voice was very different- rasping and angry to syrupy smooth. No one will ever compare to them
I love how nonsensical yet evocative the lyrics are
The black side was written completely by Freddie, ogre battle, the fairy feller’s masterstroke and Nevemore ”kinda” go together and The March of the black queen and Funny how love is, the same, you should listen the whole black side to fully appreciate the songs.
Spectacular song. Like many Queen fans, the more you hear it, the more obsessed you will become with this song. There is so much going on, that decades later I still find new and indecipherable ideas that blow me away. Great reaction, thanks.
Queen II is one of the greatest albums ever recorded, but it can only be fully appreciated listening to it in headphones with your eyes closed so you can really experience all the stereo layering and panning they did.
I was feeling a little down today who would say all I need it was a little Doe Darling Queen and The March Of The Black Queen
Queen, always a great remedy ❤ Hope tomorrow is a better day!
@@DoeDarling I hope it will be
One of my favourites, chaotic and beautiful. You don't have to understand it you just have to enjoy it! 😊
My favourite Queen song. Mind blowing is a great way to describe it. Freddie was a genius. I've listened to it for 40+ years and it still surprises me.
Oh my god! Just realised you're a Doe too! I used to have the Doe name but changed it to Doh! for the Homer Simpson thing. ;o)
Queen II is an absolute masterpiece ! An entire Bohemian Rhapsody ♥️♥️♥️!!!
Queen 1 and 2 were awesome. Very underrated albums.
I highly recommend listening to the entire album in one sitting to fully understand the metaphors that happily happen over time. This is my "go to" Queen album ❤
A friend loaned me this record when it came out....and it is to me their best...this album changed my life.
Queen II, one of the greatest musical masterpieces of all time..!!!
The talent of Freddie and the boys had in the studio has never been duplicated, as you clearly noticed, they did a lot of "panning" from ear to ear. I absolutely love watching your reactions, great job as always!
when you listen to those first three albums it's like hearing all the elements, those fantastical baby steps that led to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Your reaction is one of the very best ever! You are expressing all the emotions I felt when I heard this for the 1st time back in the 70's, IMO, this masterpiece rivals "Bo Rap" as the best QUEEN song of all time! THANK YOU!☮☮☮
This is my favorite Queen song!
This is one of my most favorite songs of Queen, love it....
thanks, Doe - this did go straight into "Funny How Love Is" -- early Queen albums - (and I have a few) - have NO space between songs.. for example: on Night at the Opera - "Death on Two Legs" goes straight into "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" - and Brian's masterpiece "the Prophet's Song" goes directly to "Love of My Life" -
Hello Ginny my Queen sister!! Love The Prophets Song 🎶
@@debramoore7513 Hello, Sweet Sister! :)
And, of course, “Father to Son” goes right into “White Queen,” “Ogre Battle” goes right into “The Fairy Feller’s Master Stroke,” which goes right into “Nevermore,” “Tenement Funster” goes right into “Flick of the Wrist,” which goes right into “Lilly of the Valley.”
Party goes into Kashoggis Ship 🤠
Their best song BY FAR, imo. It’s just insane. And the panning and production efforts is also through the roof!
They released their two greatest albums in 1974. It’s ridiculous. Please, marry me.
Byyee!!
My favorite queen song, without a doubt. A masterpiece!
No rock band has ever made an epic like that honest
Btw, you need the whole side! Rogers highs and all vocals are the tightest I’ve ever heard. Even guys from YES wondered how they could be that tight!
Such a glorious masterpiece! Their fantasy/mythology themes songs are among my many favorites! March of the Black Queen is so intense it was rarely sung live and only a small portion was sung as a medley. At this early a time in their career, who knows what musical sorcery was cooking that would either be fleshed out or ended up in the wastebasket! Once again, Queen provided a superb fantasy tapestry thats a treasure-trove of possible interpretations, especially who the titular Black Queen could be. When I hear the line "I'm Queen of the Night", the opera lover in me automatically thinks of the main antagonist of the same name from Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute". That being said, "Black Queen" and "Queen of the night" is an archetype all her own that has been used to describe several figures in mythology and folklore, but I digress. Another reactor, Darc Helmut did a very interesting reaction to this song with an intriguing approach and interpretation to the lyrics. czcams.com/video/fm7RAB4wf0A/video.html Please do check out the rest of Queen II, as well as their debut album and Sheer heart attack, they are all awesome and the live renditions at the rainbow and odeon '75 are incredible!
Thank you, Diana!
Teo Torriatte (Let us cling together) was used by Japan for their Olympic games this year. The Japanese love Queen. Freddie wrote March of the Black Queen inspired by Brian's White Queen song.
“White Queen” is one of Brian’s most beautiful songs, along with “Teo Torriate” and “Leaving Home Ain’t Easy”
Queen II is definitely my fave album ❤️
Yes it was mind blowing FREDDIE & QUEEN are amazing love them for ever
There is a lot going on in this song and you will need to listen to it multiple times to get the full Nuance. I would recommend earphones because the stereo differences in each ear add another layer to the song
THANK YOU, DOE!! THIS IS MY 2ND FAVORITE QUEEN SONG!! 🖤🖤🖤
THE SONG ALWAYS GIVES ME AN “ALICE IN WONDERLAND” VIBE 🃏♣️🃏♠️
SHE’S ABUSIVE & VILE, STILL WE MARCH SINGLE FILE “LA LA LA LA LA”
BRIAN’S GUITAR SOLO SEALS THE DEAL 🖤 🔲◼️◾️ SO AMAZING 🖤
Black on black on - every fingernail & toe” *ALREADY PAINTED MY NAILS BLACK*
That's a great album.. Im so very lucky to be in high school @ the time, you will 💘 39. From Nantucket, ma
Doe
I'm so very happy that Queen finally Got the Appreciation. & Respect the 4 Original Members. That Freddie was the ❤ & Soul of Queen. I am so very happy that Queen has a whole new younger Audience. Im not putting Anyone Down
Disco Deacon, took Fred's passing hard. John was shy & Freddie would help Guide John through Interviews. And it worked! I feel by freddie doing this he letting the Quiet Monster 🔊 player, get through all the functions & Events they had to Attend!
John felt protected & Freddie just doing his job of a front man
This is one of my favorite Queen songs if there actually can be favorites other than all of them and it has been going through my head a lot lately so it was great to get to watch your first reaction to it. Yes, this song definitely is a "belly full." Thanks for a great reaction.
Queen always brightens my day. Tq for reacting to this. React to Nevermore. a beautiful song.
I was 13 when this came out. I vividly remember listening to Queen II over and over in my mate´s bedroom. We were totally blown away and it started my love for Freddie and the Boys which remains today. MOTBQ was definitely a Bo- Rap dry run but also a masterpiece in itself. Love your Queen reactions and can´t wait for you to cover Prophet´s Song and my favourite Queen song Father to Son, again from Queen II. Great stuff Doe Darling !
I was 13, too and I got hooked immediately. Zeppelin a lot later.
As a kid of 1981 (thats when I bought Queen 2) I thought this was the norm... I was catching up on the Queen stuff from the 70s over the next 6 or 7 years. I now cant believe how outrageous this album was!X
Love your first time reactions!X
Love your reactions, being a lifelong fan, I can see you are discovering their amazing greatness and it’s so much fun because their songs are different and endearing! Yes, enjoying the show-a new exciting song with cool fast lyrics! Yes equating it to an amusement park ride-great analogy!❤
Such fun to see and share with you on a Queen reaction - too long away. I think Queen thrived at this time upon a cryptic epic sound. A pre-mod form of shock and awe. In my older brother's day, it was all about the album. You didn't speak of "a song from an album" you spoke about "the album." And when you and friends got together to listen to music, it was after sensing the mood of the journey and choosing the album you wanted to share for the next XX minutes. We missed out on that but it is an easy fix to patch...just do it all at one sitting, the way a proper album of the day was meant to be heard. Works particularly well with albums of this time that crafted and sculpted their choices to convey where they were at that moment in time. So...it is a way to time travel, when you think of it!
Hello Miss Doe Darling , love your reaction and your thoughts to this, one of Freddie's Masterpiece. Yes do react all the songs of Queen 2 album , one of my favorite Queen Album, and btw i love your Prawn Costume last time @ Freddie's 75th birthday 😊😘💛, you rock🤟🏻. Stay safe Darling
Great reaction to a great song, and a big yes please to checking out the whole Queen II album stay beautiful and keep up the good work.
Thanks for all of your Queen videos! Have you checked out You Take My Breath Away, live from Hyde Park, 1976? If you haven’t, you should. Trust me; you’ll love it. The studio version is great in its own way, with lots of harmonies and big sounds, but that ‘76 live version is just Freddie and his piano. To die for!!
Absolutely loved this album- a real treasure-goes into “ funny how love is” a beautiful song…….
In this group, in their songs and in these reactions, everything is amazing! Thank you very much. Hopeful to see more reactions to "Queen"
Great reaction, as usual! This is another classic.
If you want the non fade out ending, it’s on the Deep Cuts version.
A true masterpiece
Would love to see your reaction to Nevermore (very short song but VERY beautiful), and melancholy Blues.
One of my favorite🖤With every next listening this song is going better and better
Go doe go , 👍 we'll done
Thanks for watching!
This song does run into the the next one on the album called "Funny How Love Is". This was the Grand Daddy of Bohemian Rhapsody that came about a few years later.
Queen 2 album is a master piece
Fantastic reaction. It was epic. And speaking of epic, if you haven't already, please react to the Prophets Song. Another epic masterpiece that will take you on an unforgettable journey.
Ogre Batlle. Absolute lore of the whole piece. Good old fashioned story telling. Loved it.
Freddie Mercury with Queen is our 20th century Mozart. Try You take my breath away. Live Hyde Park 1976. Thanks Doe!
I have never listened to Queen I nor Queen II. All across USA. Thank you.
this is the Queen I knew in high school. WOW!
A battle back and forth for sure! The protagonist is pulled between the two forces, the beauty of virtue and the draw of power and as you say, debauchery.
Hermoso tema !!! Emociona escuchar a Freddie ❤️ . Gracias linda 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Wow 🥰 beautiful Freddie ❤️ I love all Freddie's songs ❤️ especially on this album 😍
Sorry but I always though this kicks Boh Rhaps ASS! The movie made it out like Bohemian Rhapsody was the first time they did the operatic thing. Queen 2, side 2 (Black side), is just as GREAT at Night at the Opera and wow do I love it too!
I enjoyed your commentary and you sound so good, thanks.
I’m late to the party but I’m happy to have made it. I very much enjoyed the reaction. This was the song that solidified my appreciation of Queen back in the day when it came out. Happy to see others enjoying it these many years later. First time seeing a reaction from you, it will not be the last.
the vissible confusion was wonderfull
I love Freddie's voice in this song , thank you for your video
Quite a speechless reaction while listening! 😃
A masterpiece like a Picasso you need to really study but you can't take your eyes off because you know you're looking/listening to greatness! Great reaction!
Queen ll is their best album.
My favorite Album QUEEN II the best they ever did
Yes, the song did (on the vinyl) just seque into another song: Funny How Love.
When you do react to the Prophet's song, I hope you'll just use the album and let Love of my life play right afterwards, since one melds into the next so beautifully - and most reactors never get that "togetherness" in their reactions. (The songs don't belong together lyrically, but musically it's such a nice thing how they're connected. (Would've been the same with the songs on the black side of Queen II, too. Maybe a black side review of Queen II at some point?) :)
Dificilmente existirá um gênio igual ao Fred Mercury
I think it is my fave song of all time
She boils and she bakes, and she never dots her "i's" What a great focking lyric.
Queen I & Queen II are quintessential Queen/Freddie albums.
Great reaction. You put your finger on it all.
I appreciate that, thank you
Roger Taylors drumming!!! One of the most underrated drummers ever. He's so good at making the songs better, the foundation and driving flourish equal to the guitar and vocals.
a masterpiece
I don't understand what pleasure it gives to people to watch how someone else reacts to a certain song.
Funny how love is tied after this :)
Love this song…..
YOU HAVE TO HEAR COMPLETE QUEEN II ALBUM AT ONCE LIKE ONE LONG SONG. KISSES FROM CHILE
Queen II is their best album in my opinion.
Subscribe because Doe is lovely and interesting.
Aww thank you 😊🤗
Freddie mercury was28 when queen 2 came out
I ❤ her accent
@Doe I insist that you listen to the entire Queen II album without a pause between the songs, and you'll discover a well-knit story going on....... It's just a theory, but it's very fascinating.... Please give it a go!!
I think I should do that, thanks!
yes, it fades to "funny how love is....the album has a black side and a white side, you were hearing the black side. black side is considered, side 2 of freddy's opera. thanks
The reason the ending of the song sounds awkward as it fades out is because it immediately goes into the next song on the album, called
"Funny How Love Is" If you bought the album (Back in the day) Like I did, it would be a seamless transition straight into the next one.
Hello there! :) Where did you buy this t-shirt? Greetings from Portugal. There are not 2 Queen songs alike!!! :)
My friend bought me it from Amazon 😀
The march of the Black Queen is a perfect song tô bem a song for a movie villan , I think is so dark but até the same time is cartoonish I think.
I saw them back then
IMO, the best song ever, by anybody 0:47
What just happened, you ask? Early 70s Queen just happened. Queen were and are an epic band
White queen 👸
My favourite 😻
Great review baby girl xx
