This is a Halo Wars strategy video featuring a prophet rush in an online 1v1 match. This video will also demonstrate how to stop a warthog rush using the Prophet of Regret.
There are ways to counter it such as building all 4 turrets or if ur facing the covenant building a shield generator. The faster you get to the enemy's base the better, that way they will have build up less resistance.
I know this is an old video so I'm sorry for the late comment but I just recently started playing Halo Wars kinda seriously and I'm honestly confused by all the comments on here. Are Halo Wars players just scrubs? Everyone's crying about rushes but in every RTS game I've ever played (WarCraft, StarCraft, AoE, AoM, C&C, etc.) rushing is a perfectly viable strat that had risk factor and was punishable if the rush was pushed back. Unless this risk factor is missing in Halo Wars rushes (I honestly don't know I haven't played that much multiplayer) then why are people crying? Is it really THAT cheap or are players just bad? I mean you can't cry cause someone won't let you pump out your army of Spartan tanks. Again, this is assuming that rushes in HW are generally risk free which I don't know if they are.
I recently became a Halo Wars so I don't have much experience but I agree with you. Rushing is a risk and doesn't always have to work 100% of the time if the other player simply builds a counter. In my opinion, whatever tactic works best is fair game. This is war, after all.
straightupBall3r you say that, and I don’t mind rushes I do them myself but I could literally tank rush with cutter and pump out more tanks than you destroy so it’s like a never ending line of tanks
Yeah quite obviously it does have high risk rushing against a player that might know a way around the strat, just like this video demonstrates. Its honestly quite easy to counter shitty rushes as long as you have good knowledge of the game your playing.
I think the reason rushing in this game is looked down upon is because the readability/scouting and defensive options are lacking. Compared to other rts games.
To the person who was asking y the connection bar was divided into 25 first I'm amazed you even bothered to count, second it is because the camera I believe he is using maybe faster than other cameras but not as fast as the human eye so creating a pixelated flashing illusion.

@ODSTJoe But if you play as prophet you can make Elite Honor Guards but when you play as Arbiter you can't make any elites except for,you guessed it, that Arbiter
depends how many there are and how upgraded they are. they're about an all around unit that can deal with just about anything. Beware of hawks they are wiped out in a second against those.
Whats a good way to STOP a FLYING prophet rush??? Its really anoying cause they can kill a few buildings and even a few of my tanks at the start of the game. It takes like 5 tanks to push him back and even the wolverines are not that good...
I would try disruption bombs, cryo bombs and if you have a few upgrades for them, carpet bombs or mac barrage. The arbiter and brute cheiftain may be effective in stoping them but I never tryed that.
Yes but the hogs have no weapons it first you have to wait to upgrade them and why didn't you use the beam on the building pads? Something that works for me is ghosts rush build vhilce thing + 2 pads and get supplies thing put out as many ghosts as u can then get supplys on the way there and attack the base if u play against the covenat you won't belive how many people it works on take out the temple and the units buildlings. Then pads and get prophet upgrade the beam.
nice essay...and u got a point but its a known fact that the unsc have an advantage over covenant leaders cus they have way better upgrades later in the game...as a result covenant players have to rush or they get fucked. If u THINK about it it makes sense
u should have recalled ur leader after u took out that last supply pad and attacked with 2 hunters u could have defeated them with ur first upgraded beam
i think that you are wrong there because hornets can kill a scarab grizzly can kill a scarab and old guy can kill hornet, grizzly and a scarab so i think the best units in halo wars are: 5-3star scarab 4-3star grizzly(with 3star spartan inside) 3-3star hawk (with 3 star spartan inside) 2-3star wraith (with 3 star spartan inside) 1-3star Brute C these i think are the top coolest and strongest units in the game these are the top 5. have a nice read and a nice day good bye
theres nothing wrong about rushes in rts like this cause once both ends are too powerful after all that upgrade theres no way to end the war without screwing up a little i dont like it either but letting ur enemy get stronger is a bad call so thats why harassment is needed to destroy or slow even stop production,research even resource or stall for time
that guy u beat sucked already. you can tell because he's relying on one supply depot and already going to his second reactor. a really covey rush you would of been dropping troop on your leader on the first attack.
man i hate everyone who does prophet rush, i wish someone would at least come up with something more original, i dont mind being rushed by banshees, but when a total of 5000 people use this rush every hour on 1v1, it gets kinda of redundant and annoying

It works but it completely fails if the enemy starts off building marines since they decimate the prophet with their grenades or RPGs

Sadly this rush is no longer very effective because they debuffed the prophet multiple times soon after release.
