  • This is a video that was posted years ago and is the video that is the most requested question. "Do we have a video of when The Tent was started". The video that was posted years ago had been changed, hacked maybe. I decided to re post it. Thank You.

    Thank you, thank you. I have been a subscriber since you began. Last night I went through what seemed like a 100 videos to watch the tent build. I couldn't locate the video, I went back 11 years. Very disappointed. But, then this video popped up, I was ecstatic. Wow, how much has changed and yet it hasn't. Brought back memories, Zac has changed so much, definitely isn't a kid anymore. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

    Joe - Have been watching your videos for a few months now - you have such a way of filming that is informative AND entertaining. You have a special gift - keep up the great stuff. I especially enjoy when you are just puttering around the tent - cooking, filling the wood stove, journaling, etc. Your attention to detail is amazing. - Rich Gee

    Hi Joe, I've been watching you regularly for a few weeks now, but have been a subscriber to Northern Seclusion for a few months and most recently to Joe and Zach. I grew up in Michigan but have been in central Florida for the past 27 years. I admire your skills as a builder. I am a swimming pool repair contractor. At least 75% or more of the homes down here have swimming pools so the work is steady. I'm so happy to have run across this video of how The Tent started. I am eager to see you build your cabin. I'm sure it'll be just as nice as your dads.

    Never mind Joe, you don't have to answer back on why y'all call the cabin the tent. I finally came across this video where it all began. That's a really good way of slowly building yourself a cabin. Would have never thought of doing it inside of the tent. That way you've already got outside walls n you don't have to put on a roof and shingle it. Saves a lot of money. Was that your plan or is that just how it turned out. It's really nice to see your children go to the tent with you for the weekends. I'm single as well and my children are grown too so I wish we had a place like that where we could go and spend a lot of time together. Enjoy y'all's time together. Y'all sure got a lit of snow this winter.

Cheers to all you've accomplished.

    • @JoeandZachSurvival
      @JoeandZachSurvival  Před 7 lety +4

      I will be sad when the tent comes down but in my head I can close my eyes and already walk through the new cabin. It is going to be very rustic for the most part and will be equally as fun to be there and I think the viewers will like it very much as well and not be let down because the tent is gone. As far as a puppy goes..... I will eventually get another Lab but I learned years ago that for myself, I need time between. I had a dog named April, she was a lab springer mix and an incredible hunting dog. That dog would find birds that I thought I missed, it happened on several occasions. When she was stolen and maybe a month passed I got another puppy. In my mind that dog never could be what April was. I put the same tons of hours into training her I do with all my dogs. That dogs name was Sally, and she was a good dog but I worry it was me that like I said could not get past the fact that April was so amazing. I do not think that Sally ever got a fair chance with me. After some time passed and even another dog in between named Clancy that died after only about 6 months I then found Max. When I got Max I was truly ready for another dog and it had no one it had to fill the shoes of. Until I am ready to give the next dog a fair chance and not be pissed that its not being "like Max" Its best I wait. Thank you. Joe

    • @hickoryhomes6838
      @hickoryhomes6838 Před 7 lety +2

      Great call, and you'll know when the time is right for another dog. I know that loneliness (and anger) of losing a dog and I too have made the mistake to try and fill that void way too soon. You know what you're doing. I cannot wait for your cabin - think of all the years of experience you have to draw from to build exactly what you can see when you close your eyes - that is so cool Joe and we'll all be there to watch that chapter too. Great job, thanks for keeping things simple and enjoyable.
