Brent Smith is incredible. Shinedown’s album The Sound of Madness is one of the greatest of all time. And their cover of Simple Man is amazing.
Well now you have to do Broken Pieces, with Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf. I'm not sure which one was released first but the video ties into the Not Strong Enough, the lady you see at the end of Not Strong Enough was Lacey.
As a cello player that listens to rock/metal I'm contractually obligated to like Apocalyptica. While I do like most of their songs I kind of wish they would get a full time lead singer and expand their style a bit.
Brent smith is easily one of the best power house vocalists! 45 by his band Shinedown is a must!!

Apocalyptica is a 4 piece cello set that started at a Metallica cover band.
Brent Smith is the vocalist of Shinedown, an absolutely incredible rock band from Jacksonville FL. "Fly from the Inside" was their first single. "Burning Bright" is another from their early years that is a must do.
This video actually has another part. The continuation of the visual can be found in "Broken Pieces" Apocalyptica ft. Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf- she's the brunette you see at the end of the video there.

AHHH Brent Smith one of the best vocalists on the planet. Check out his band Shinedown. Their cover of Simple Man is simply Superb. Another good choice would be Smith & Myers She Talks to Angels or Someone Like you. Both covers as well but excellently done.

Brent Smith (Shinedown is his main band) is an amazing singer/songwriter, if you get a chance to listen to any of the acoustic sessions with him and Shinedown Guitarist Zach Myers (Smith & Myers Sessions). You don't need to react just listen to them they are awesome.
Love Apocalyptica, they are great live. Brent was fab on this song, his band shinedown are pretty cool awsome live too. Apocalyptica use a few guest singers on their songs, their own songs are awsome too.

Agree with everyone below, Brent Smith is an absolute artist when he opens his mouth and that voice comes out ❤ I've had the pleasure of seeing Shinedown twice live and can agree that Brent is even better vocally live! Goosebumps everytime! I've had the fortune of meeting him in person as well and he is an absolute sweetheart. Humble, genuine and kind. Shinedown love their fans and it shows. All the guys in Shinedown are absolutely genuine. If you want to hear Brent's vocal range, listen to anything Shinedown, but as people have said Simple Man is probably one of the best. Makes me cry everytime I hear it live because of the emotion Brent projects ❤ literally best band in the world!

They weren't allowed to use Brent Smith's version on the radio because Shinedown already had a hit & they couldn't compete with Shinedown since the same singer. They redid the song with the Hoobastank singer for radio. It is a shame because I don't think it hit #1. It would have with Brent Smith.

He did a killer version of Lynard Skynard’s Simple Man that’s every bit as good as the original. Watch the rock version. There are so many amazing songs by Shinedown. The Crow and the Butterfly, Second Chance, 45, Sound of Madness, If you only Knew, What a Shame, Call Me, the lust goes on and on and on. Lol.

Plenty of comments about Brent and shinedown, but another great colab I didn’t see mention of is Apocolyptica feat. Adam Gontier of three days grace. Song is called “I Don’t Care.” Another voice that meshes really well with the sound Apocolyptica brings.

The most wonderful thing about Apocalyptica is that they actually write these songs specifically FOR the guest vocalist. This song was written to complement Brent. They don't have a regular vocalist, and they don't need one- these are highly qualified musicians in their own right. Coincidentally they're incredibly kind in person. Overall a sweet, nerdy bunch of guys who COULD be in great symphonies but they're all in for rock instead.

If you want to see the power of his voice the 2 I suggest are Monsters and Simple Man he covered from Lynyrd Skynyrd (however its spelled lol) Second Chance is one of my favorites too, my wife loves How Do You Love.

The whole drawing the bows across their necks is a metaphor for being so infatuated with someone and being taken advantage of and literally used as instruments for their own pleasure.

Some of Apocalyptica's best works are their instrumentals. "Chokka" and "Kaamos" immediately come to mind, also the live version of their cover of "In the hall of the mountain king" originally written by Edvard Greig
As good as their instrumentals are, they don't compare to the lyricals they have, in my opinion.
