  • Emergency services worked overtime this morning after a vehicle rolled over in Military Rd, Dover Heights.
At around 10.30am residents and drivers rushed to assist the trapped person. With the drivers leg pinned under the car an urgent multi-agency rescue was required.
Local medical responder Hatzolah assisted with the initial assessment of the patient until Paramedics arrived on scene.
Police Rescue worked with Fire & Rescue NSW to cut out the windscreen and open the vehicles roof.
After around an hour of frantic work the patient was stabilised and extracted safely from the car.
Police established a crime scene and are seeking witnesses to the incident.

At what point do Hatzolah accept they're not required and leave it to the professionals?

As a first responder myself, we will continue with primary care until paramedics arrive. Upon arrival, a first aider should standby to assist paramedics and other emergency personnel, until explicitly told that we are no longer required.

Your an idiot, they are Community First responders, and are utilised and dispatched by NSW Ambulance Service. RFS, and SES also have Community First Responder units with same training that Hatzolah recieves from Ambualnce NSW

Well, the Hatzolah technician tests to see if the driver is Muslim or not. If Muslim then they call in Red Crescent who arrive 50 strong and yell at everyone to do the work for them.

+chevy790 In this particular suburb, rescue is performed by the police, not Fire and Rescue, however the fire fighters in that area are still all trained in basic rescue, with some stations fully trained to cover the area when the police are tied up at other incidents. At at actual incident where another agency is performing the rescue, fire fighters may also assist if requested. Fire and Rescue perform all rescue (Except vertical and swift water in some areas) throughout the rest of the city as well as across the state, however some parts of the state are also broken up into different rescue areas and divided between the police, ambulance, state emergency service, rural fire service, volunteer rescue association and fire and rescue.
