- Residents were woken to the sounds of a loud smash in the early hours of this morning after a serious accident on Bunnerong Road in Eastgardens.
At around 2.30am residents contacted triple zero after a car collided at high speed into a traffic light.
It's understood a witness saw another male flee the wreck whilst leaving his mate trapped inside the car.
The damage to the vehicle was so significant that it took rescue crews an epic two hours and 6 minutes to free the driver.
NSW Police rescue said it was a long and complicated process of removing each piece bit by bit. They started work from the top of the vehicle and proceeded towards the drivers area.
Along with the passenger seat, most of the lower parts of the dashboard and lower console was removed.
The multiagency rescue required the resources of Paramedics, Intensive Care Paramedics, Special Operations Paramedics, Paramedic Commander, Fire & Rescue NSW, Police Rescue, local Police and RTA traffic management.
Paramedic crews worked hard to ensure the conscious male was stabilised and pain management was implemented. Once extracted he was transported to hospital for treatment of significant lower limb and pelvic injuries.
It's understood that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The damaged traffic light will be replaced later today.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, and who hasn't already spoken to police, to come forward.
They particularly would like to speak to the man seen leaving the area in an attempt to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident.
All these rescue services do a terrific job and deserve our respect and appreciation. Thanks all!
Impressive result to remove someone stuck in the car.
Any sympathy I felt, flew out the window when I read that they'd stolen the car. All I think now, is that some poor person that may need their car for work, is now without it. I do hope the guy recovers, but I also hope he gets a nice big fine, and a long driving ban.
Lets not forget to clobber him with the bills from the rescue guys & gals & of course the Dr. & Medical bills. These financial obligations must be taken care of prior to his next party.
So they stole the car, crashed, one fled, the other trapped for 2 hrs 6 mins. Hope he learned his lesson, and no longer friends with the one that left him. Great teamwork getting him out.

Amazing Job everyone!! God bless all of you for what you have to see and go through every day... You are appreciated.
the life saving technology we have today is amazing.but it is nothing compared to the skills of the brave rescue workers.they work together like one.

That's what you get for riding in a stolen car. I have no sympathy for thieves. I hope his 'friend' is caught and thrown in jail.
It's a miracle he's still alive. Shame on the mate that walked away and just left him there!
God Bless first responders! Hope everything turned good for this man.
Like a good boot up the shorts he probably had no licence either. Enjoy the pain ya brat
Always the ones that cause the accidents never get hurt most of the time.
So true. Like in 90% of cases. Karma...
Lucky guy. Great footage as usual.
actual heroes are doing their job really good
Thank you for helping that guy.
Wow, Australia has allot of Women working in Police and Fire and Rescue. Awesome!
🇨🇦 too.
Love the Aussie accent!! great job guys!!!! From Fire/EMT in USA!! Great job mates!!!
Love all these guys and girls who do this job. So organised. God bless all. I hope the guy makes a full recovery. Xxxxxxx
If I'm ever unfortunate enough to be in an accident id want it to be here.
very good workers, lucky guy
If you’re going to steal a car, perhaps you should learn to drive first. On another note, thank you to our amazing first responders!
Fire and medical services are amazing no matter the country.
Ladies and Gentlemen ... These are our first responders at work.
Then they come to me so they can get back on track after they leave the hospital. Therapy rehabilitation work the legs and body parts all over again!!
They are amazing works!! May God bless everyone that Help that person
Queste persone del soccorso per mè sono angeli!!! Grazie a nome di tutti.
Same thing happened to me. I was in the hospital for almost 2months and I suffer today with my legs
it sucks to be left for dead what a nice friend leaves the scene
Well you steal a vehicle and carma Bite's you back but I still can't believe his mate left him for dead
He musta had a warrant or he was drunk.
Roger Green Doesn't care about anybody but himself.
He probably left cause they had stole the car but to be so selfish and only think of urself when ur friend is rite beside u dying that is some1 that no1 should ever call a friend i dont care what u have done or if u are going to go to jail u never leave any1 4dead i hope this young man is doing well and never has that guy around him again cause he sure dont care about u at alllll
@@daviddonaghy7568 That's usually how it is with his crowd...
Roger Green ... Not much of a mate then, is he? Karma will get him, hopefully before the police do. LOL
Tuvo suerte el accidentado.....Dios bendiga a todas esas personas que lo ayudaron a salir del accidente.
The woman sitting in the car with is that I assume teenager. She was so nice what an angel! Hopefully he thanked her. Most firefighters don't get involved like that.

FIREMEN HEROES AND ANGELS ON EARTH THANK YOU ALL
Bertha Martin what about police rescue ? And paramedics?
All First Responders, All Leo's, all K9's, all military personnel are hero's in my book! One and all. May God keep you safe in his arms & thank you for all you do 💙🙏💕👮🚔🚒🚑🏭💙🐾👩🚒🙏⛑️🐾👍
WOW, just goes to show you who ARE TRULY YOUR FRIENDS !!!!!
No sense of urgency. Amazing.
Love the accent, very refreshing, from USA
Indeed
The worst part of any traumatic event are the sounds & smells.
You mean like when you shit yourself? Yup
Yeah, never mind the pain, huh?
Buen trabajo de mis héroes😚❤👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
It is amazing that the young lad didn't make it out of that car the way it looked God was looking after him❤
Fortunately the unlucky passenger was in a condition to endure a slow rescue. Thank God for the first responders, and medical personnel, for their expertise in taking care of the victim. We must remember the rescue crews around this earth for their service; and for help with the emotional aftermath THEY experience dealing with rescues! Hopefully the man gets good medical care in jail, and can walk.
MusicalTrains Brown the passenger did a runner, the driver was trapped.
What a great mate
Those are not friends I hope he realizes this
I love the US firefighters, policen and EMT. God bless you all.
The front tire of the Toyota Camry, which looks like that, is worn.
They are calm and kind rescue & police officers.
I wonder if this guy that was left for dead is still friends with the guy who left him there?
Driver who left is a coward
please dont hide injuries the teenagers need to learn lesson god bless all humans
Omg some kind a friend he had🙄
they are of the lower order ,someones good car wrecked , police and ambulance personnel and so many others time taken up by wasters robbbing and crashing , make the buggers pay for all damage
Excelente labor!! Oficiales muy preparados 👍, sólo me quedó la duda del por qué no cortaron el techo? Creo que así se logra un mejor acceso al paciente.
to Buddy West~Yep!Pretty much!
Actually surprised he made it out alive bad accident... Glad he's going to be ok
Wow!!!
Well once they free him, treat him, they will arrest him. Surely he will let them know who the coward is who ran away after almost killing his mate.
How did he almost kill his friend if the guy who ran was the passenger not the driver? Because I thought I saw them removing him from the right side of the car and in Australia that’s where the driver sits, remember that here in the United States, the driver sits directly opposite of Australian motor vehicle drivers. Or maybe I’m stupid and thought I saw them removing him from the right side? No that’s not it, i know exactly what I saw and I’m not stupid I’m extremely intelligent, amazing and great all around. I know exactly what I am talking about.
@@alex.gomez.1117 that's right! The driver was the one entrapped,& the passenger ran off.
In that country, the
driver's side is on the left if ur facing the car,
&on the right side if ur in the car.
@@alex.gomez.1117 I think you are forgetting the biggest thing here is he left him to die. Who gives a flying fuck who was sitting where! They both stole this vehicle and both charged.
That’s one way to end a relationship
So is the term "Driving someone else's car" another way of saying -Driving a stolen car? If his mate fled the scene then I would say most likely.
These angels do this & more for a living.
They deal with things the rest of us don't have the courage &/or knowledge to even think about yet they do it so calmly & professionally.EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US OWE THEM RESPECT & GRATITUDE.
Criminals hate them because they get busted doing the wrong thing but should something bad happen in the crim's life GUESS WHO THEY TURN TO...Guess how often the arresting officers get hurt by someone they may have locked up multiple times just to find out the person is now the one screaming for their help in a scene like this or worse. How often do police have to go to a drug house or whatever to inform the residents etc that a loved one or customer has been injured or even died?
These awsome folk deal with this so the rest of us don't have to.Unless you are "in the job" you probably have no idea what goes on when these guys are off duty.
I'm sure they would be grateful if we tried harder to put them out of a job!)
Maybe some tailored work experience for young people & repeat offenders?
What’s with the fireman not wearing safety glasses and operating jaws of life and other cutting machines?
wow pays to have good mates
How on earth did the driver run away, we drive on the right hand side of the car in Australia.
I hope he recovers 100%
So, did I really hear one if the guys say " suck it up "
Looks like the pole is in the passenger's seat so where was the other person sitting to be able to run away?
That’s it! I’m moving to Australia. What happened to the guy that ran? Was he caught?
People need to realise that there is no honour amongst theives
"It's understood a witness saw another male flee the wreck whilst leaving his mate trapped inside the car, the passenger probably thought to himself: " You drove like your damn ass, nearly killed me...I'm off"
Maybe the thief will learn not to steal someone else property.
I thought it might buff out, but on closer inspection, I think she's heading for the scrap yard!
I wonder after the driver being pinned in the car so long and then extensive damage to his legs and pelvic if he wonders if it was worth his driving a stolen car. I hope he didn't have to lose his legs and sad that happened to all concerned.
Thats terrible
Нашим надо поучиться у них как спасать людей
How good are the crews in Emergency Services. These people are angels.
Volio a naser grasias a estos angeles
Remember this guy and his buddy were car thieves...
No honor among thieves
Did he survive!
Hope they catch the other guy!
Hope the guy that flew gets in trouble
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I hope this guy is ok after they pulled him out of the car , you know it's pretty bad when they have to use the jaws of life too extricate you from the wreckage , good job police & fire & ems workers !!!! 👍😊🚔🚑🚒🇺🇸
I bet that's the end of that friendship.
They are even careful with windshield, rolling it downwards. Working very carefully
Was good type of windshield on the car .
Hey it looks like you guys have the same problem we have in the US. Let me guess stolen car, teenager, reckless driving, no regard for life, and yet we're supposed to feel sorry for him
The friend went for help, but noooooo faith
It's amazing that the whole time the man was trapped in the car you didn't hear anything from him and when he's out he cries and whimpers like a baby and probably he snitched on his so called Mate so why ask the public to find the guy and if he wasn't found this man will be the only one charged not only for the stolen car but paying for the car and the rescue workers
The pole always wins
traffic light and electricity poles just jump out at you. best to keep an eye out for them coz they're tough as.... gum trees have a good go too... many fought with these and failed.
That’ll buff right out.
9:37 Morbidly Fascinating 👀
10:23 camera zoomed in on shoe left trapped inside 👀
That poor car
Štěstí že přežil
Well i say his mate is no mate at all if he fled the scene and left him for dead. Now his mates car is being torn apart to get him out. I’m thankful he’s still alive. I hope his mate got jail time for this
Mysticofshadowyhearts the car was stolen and the guy who was trapped was the driver
That wasn't their car, it was stolen! & the one that ran was the passenger!
Good friends are hard to come bye
Some kind of friend he is...jerk.
That guy who ran from the wreck is not a mate - tell him to sod off.
Do nothing to say that you have to do with the the same time as well and have
was that the owner of the camry crying or the crook LOL.
I bet he and the guy who ran away won't be friends anymore after this.
Don't you love how over there and the land down under it's triple zero and here it's 911? I actually knew someone who didn't know the number to 911! 🤔
Eu quero.vermas❤
What country is this
Australia
Bet he'll think twice before joyriding again
You need a new mate, mate. 😓
