I’ve been using the pause and cursor, but then finishing by hitting mark. Wondering why my waypoints have been 50 feet or more from brush piles I thought I marked. Was getting very frustrated. Garmin should make this easier to understand. It doesn’t help that the tear drop is bigger on the screen for a few seconds and then minimizes. Anyway this and all your other videos have been greatly helpful. I feel I’d have been really lost without them. Much appreciated sir! You’ve really been the difference in being able to get the most from my electronics investment.
Thank you for the kind words and have a great day!
We have been having that same issue! I never really could figure out why we couldn’t find the fish or ledges we were marking! This video was super helpful!! 😊
Same here excellent video thank you for the clarification
Thank you so much for posting these videos. This has helped me to immensely. I take veterans/l first responders out fishing all the time. This has improved my ability to understand my electronics and help put my guests on fish
Thank you Rick. If you're not the best Garmin explainer, you're certainly one of 'em!
Thanks for the encouragement!!
You’ve helped shorten the learning curve with my Garmins. Thanks, from Western NC.
Glad to help, have a great day
Wow. Did not know this and was confused by waypoint being off just this past week. Thanks. Tulsa Oklahoma area here.
From Michigan. Just got my first couple of Garmins. Your videos are super helpful. Thanks
An even better option is to use Sideview instead of downview. Downview only gives you the correct location in relation to time. The mark could still be 5-10 ft to either side of the boat. Sideview will mark the spot exactly.
That makes sense, Thanks for sharing!
Wow! He knows a lot! Thank you. From north Key Largo..
Have a great day!
Very helpful video I’m new to garmin fish finder I fish on a kayak in Dallas Fort Worth area 🤙
Nice! I have a Bonafide SS127 I use sometimes when I’m traveling. Have a great day

Thank you Rick! As always, your a great wealth of knowledge..
Have a great day Mike
Super helpful . I thought something was off on my heading sensor for the longest time . I’ll be using this soon . 🐟
Glad to help, have a great day!!
Personally I reckon that's crazy. Why does Garmin not realise you want a way point at cursor when you've got cursors on the screen. Simrad has this nailed...
Good info. In NC
Thanks!!
Great video Rick!
Thanks Gery!!
Thank-You for this video, I have a better understanding now how to use mark and navigate to waypoints. Thanks Again! use pontoon, i live in NE Georgia and use Clark's Hill Lake.
Great, glad it helped!
Thanks for the great info. Used your spreadsheets when I first set up my UHD94SV. Complete novice here and they helped me get started on The Kenai Peninsula and Homer, AK. Looking forward to more informative vids.
Glad they helped, have a great day!

Have a great day Frank!
Thanks Rick, appreciate you sharing with everyone. l've learned a lot with your videos. Thanks again.

Hi Terry, spent a few weeks in Memphis once on a job but never been to the eastern side of the state, I imagine the Bass fishing is fantastic!
I just found your channel recently and am finding it quite helpful as i recently got a new Parker 2320 and had it rigged with Garmin GPS maps 943 and 942. Have been primarily a lowrance guy since the late 80s but om really liking the Gamins.
Moosehead lake, Maine.
Let me know if you have questions, hope they work well for you!
Thanks Rick, Verry helpful. Santee Cooper Lakes, South Carolina
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
Thanks I have never marked a wave point before. I have a bass tracker pro 170 with a garmin 93sv ecomap and a lvs 32 livescope.
I find them helpful, tight lines!
Another great video! SW Missouri
Thanks for the encouragement buddy!!
Green Horn on electronics here! I have the garmin 126 sv ultra with the LVS 34 live scope. This was very helpful! I thank you so much sir!

Thanks Frank!
Great video. One of the best I've seen. I'm BIG JOHN from Syracuse, NY..
Howdy Big John! I spent 5 years working construction all over western NY in the finger lakes region and one job in Oswego where my daughter was born, bought my first boat there! Loved it in New York, great fishing.
This was super helpful! I actually feel like an idiot lol, thank you
Pure Michigan. Thanks!
Hi glad you stopped by!!
Love your videos and updates. Gene, I fish the Chesapeake Bay Area around Kent Island, Md
Take care Gene!
Just love the info you bring thanks but got a question everything works on my garmin but dowscan did not wanna work got any suggestions why
Once again, great info for those of us who are technology challenged
TTFISHING
Thanks Mark
New Garmin user, totally different from Lowrance in the other boat.
I’ve only played with other brands in store simulators. Thanks for checking out the channel. There are over 100 Garmin videos in the Playlist on our channel.
I'm a kayak angler so Im not always launching at a ramp. But I do mark my launch areas, so I can find my way back to! I have a 106sv with LVS34 system & steady cast on my Hobie PA12-360 kayak. It's an awesome set up! Can you group your waypoints by lake? So your unit is only processing a smaller # of waypoints so it doesn't slow your unit down?. Or would I have to save each lake on an individual sd card?
I don’t think there’s any way to separate them in the user data.
Great job! Now I need your secret to record that screen :-)
It took some time, ring light above in a dark room, backlight set at 54% and a Panasonic lumix camera. Have a great day buddy!
@@DoubleTFishing Sweet! Looks good
How do you get the messaging stick in front of the boat to see how far you are from way point
Question: I fly fish knarly big water in Canada. I use my plotter primarily to avoid hazards, not finding fish. On the Navionics app, you can have the app plot a route to generally avoid hazards. I can only find straight line route function on the Garmin plotter. Doing it manually in segments is not the same as a generated route. Any advice is appreciated. TIA
Not so much, you can convert a track to a route but the route function itself isn’t very user friendly from my experience, have a great day, sorry not much help.
Thanks. The Navionics Facebook group tells me the plotter does not have auto route function. Critical lapse by Garmin.
Do you happen to now why my front unit witch is a Garmin 9, after I map part of the lake and go back to fish a way point, the map spins around while I'm fishing. Thanks
Yes, that is very irritating but go to the “map orientation” setting and play around with those options. Personally I prefer the “course up”. None of them will keep the map stationary, have a great day!
Thanks you, keep the videos coming, there very helpful.
oops, I was doing it wrong. Thanks.
My unit is not touchscreen. Not sure that I can do it that way?
I believe you can use the left right arrows to move the cross hairs. Have a great day!
@@DoubleTFishing Thanks Buddy!
I'm new to Garmin and marking way points on my graph. I'm wanting to know where to you see the waypoints on a map of the lake?
They show up immediately on the map after marking them. All of those icons on the map in the video are waypoints I made.
@@DoubleTFishing I have several waypoints marked, but I must not be pulling up the right chart, because when I'm on the water, I don't see the waypoints on my navigation chart. I must be missing something.
Did you mark them in simulator mode? If you did they won’t show up. Check your layers and make sure you have the waypoints on.
@@DoubleTFishing I'm sure I did not have simulator mode on. I realize there are several layers to drill down through. I'll check the layers and make sure waypoints is on. There is a lot to learn. But like everyone says, it takes time on the water. Thanks for your help.
Is there a way to look at the graphs inside instead of only on the boat? I don't have a way to power the graphs unless they are plugged in on the boat.
We are going to war with Russia and China and I just dropped 4,500 on a livescope with a 12” screen 😃
Hard to gage purchases on world events 😂
