I'm happy that the video provided you with memories of your youth. Hong Kong is a beautiful city and I'm glad to have been there to record a snippet of its history
These large buildings in hong kong city have become tourist spots. They are incredible. Mandatory city when traveling to Asia. Liked of course!
Yeah it's insane how photogenic they all look. Its run down but there is a certain charm about it. A must see when in the city
Hi friends. My name is Alan from Discovery Walking Tours TV and thanks for watching this video. I managed to find the Montane Mansions in Quarry Bay and was astounded by how densely packed it is. Have you been lived in such a dense apartment block before? Let me know in the comments before.
If you are keen to see and hear more of Hong Kong, do check out my Hong Kong playlist below.

So convenient for the people living in these apartments. Shops and restaurants in the ground level. Don’t have to go much further.
Such monstrous looking buildings, never seen before. Thanks lots for this Alan.
Yeah it was quite a sight to behold. Everything just looks too close to each other 😂truly unique though
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Fully agree with you and thanks again
During Colonial Hong Kong times, the Hakka stonemasons settled in the area after the British arrival.[3]
This area was a bay where rock from the hillsides were quarried and transported by ship for building construction or road building. The Chinese name Tsak Yue Chung (鰂魚涌) reveals that it was a small stream where crucian carp (鰂魚) could be found in the 19th century. The English name was Arrow Fish Creek.[3] The original bay has disappeared since land reclamation has taken place, and was about 700m from the current coastline.
this is a nice place for pictorial, although i was lost when i went here first time haha this is an awesome video for travel enthusiast
Wished I had time to do a walkabout before starting my filming. Only now do I know there are other blocks as well in that estate area. Although I'm told the area I started in is considered the most photogenic 😁
Thanks so much.🙏👍👏 This video shows me to know the location of Quarry Bay where Li Ching the most famous star of Hong Kong had stayed (The mermaid.& The Three Smiles.).She died in 2018 at the age of 69 . It’s so sad 😭.She was the one who make me feel to study chinese language in my childhood.😊
Glad I was able to bring the scene to you 😊
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV 感谢你 🙏💯
Great video 😊
I'll be interesting to walk there 😊
28:38 - is it a train? 😊
It's a tram. It's one of main modes of public transport along Hong Kong island and an interesting ride. Managed to squeeze onto one just to experience it 😁
the ding ding
saw Kerry Centre 😊👍🏻
Haha. Do you own the building? 😁🏢
6 years I'm in here,,,but I'm from indonesia
If I said this place was filled with my childhood memories even though I had never been to, do you believe ? Simply, because lots of legendary cinematic scenes had been taken here.
Yeah. It's really an iconic place ☺️ glad to have made the trip to see it for myself
Name one "block buster" film ???? Not Ramen Noodle prize film.
Your country sucks & xi xing ping is a rapest, pedophile, queer a-hole
I WANT TO SPEND A MONTH THERE
Mini Walled City.
Hi ur new
frd here
😊Glad to hear from you
What's s big deal about this place?
Nothing, I saw Today. It's nothing.
HK does not look 1st world but it is not 3rd world. It is more like 2nd world country.
One unit which is 30 sqm costs close to $1 million Australian dollars /$695k US, unbelievable; don't think they are poor people
Hong kong is one of the industrialized and modern city in the world. in fact it is so expensive to live in HK..
@@Lee_Xian- I know HK is expensive but it still look like 2nd world to me compared with China. My heritage is Cantonese living in SE Asia as a 3rd generation Overseas Chinese. I feel that Cantonese are quite chaotic although they are very good businessman and having superb food. But they don't have a sense of order and aesthetic in their presentation and in the up keeping of their environment. These is evident of them in my country and Chinatown around the world who are dominated by the Cantonese.
As a comparison let me take you for a walk in China. czcams.com/play/PLOcyzJdsH2qoFwUJ0X7eJWFpGpeUBnaQx.html
