Hi friends. This is Alan from Discovery Walking Tours TV and I hope you enjoy watching this video. I used binaural microphones to record the environmental sounds. So if you have a pair of headphones, do use them, it will be quite an immersive experience 😀 If you notice any interesting points in the video or want to ask about something that was caught on camera, comment with a time stamp (eg 00:01) and I will be sure to check it out. I am also interested to know where you are from 😄 so drop a comment below and say hi! After watching, and if you are keen to see and hear more of Singapore, do check out my Singapore Walking Tours playlist below. czcams.com/video/nsse-Zem4q0/video.html&index=
It's a nice rustic place to live 😊 I used to stay at Holland Avenue. Lots of changes happened in the past few decades and more changes will come with the building of that retail mall and condominium at Holland Village.
One of my favorite places growing up in the early 90s. There was a Cold Storage supermarket and Swenson around the bend. The best Hor Fun could be found diagonally across the tiny wet market. Haagan Daas and 7-11 are still there. Such a great tour of the Holland Village area. Many thanks, Alan!
I agree. There is something valuable and fascinating to see places as they are. It's a bit quiet at Holland Village when I took this video. Its more "happening" at night. That's when the crowds come in to drink. Commonwealth area is different. It's one of our oldest housing estates in Singapore. Everything I walk through the area, I feel like I'm walking back in time.
There are tourists who patronise the establishments in the area but I believe majority are expats who work in Singapore. Its like a small enclave away from the bustle of the city centre. Locals do come here often to eat and shop.

Yeah I missed the original ipoh hor fun. The shop has changed hands many times now and sadly the nostalgic taste is gone 😢
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV How sad! :(
Interesting walk thanks Alan. Fortunately rain has stopped. Keep well, your equipment too.
Great to see everyday scenes and people. And also the massive apartment complexes. Very interesting -H

Very nice 👍. Brother
Great to see real footage of Singapore in 4K and not those over-presented tourist videos all taken around Marina Bay.

Think of Singapore.
Yeah!! Holland Piazza 😀
I see many foreigners in your video, is it touristic street? 😊
