Small world, Maryland here also. Originally from UK.
Maryland is named after the Virgin Mary, with Virginia being the Virgin, and Maryland being Mary!
Rome' Jesuit Military Order own's and control's the World including the USA!

So refreshing to have such an articulate tour. Thankyou!
Thank you 🙏 hope you enjoy the rest of the content!
Love that Tudor architecture. Reminds me of The Shambles in York. JoeFish one day you could get up north and make a York video.
Ohhh yes, some northern content incoming and York is most certainly on the list! Thanks for watching & the comment!
I’m in America and I love seeing the beautiful buildings and sights in Britain. I like that you pay attention to detail and do not just show horrible things as clickbait. I think Britain has so many positive things to enjoy, and you can choose what you focus on. I also like seeing the locals. It makes me feel like I went there. ❤️
That's awesome to hear thanks for the kind words! Hope you enjoy the content and upcoming adventures!
This town is a diamond!
Great channel!
Thanks for the kind words! See you on the next one!
Good video! A drive through Axbridge is a short but very pleasant one. I sometimes divert deliberately!
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Look forward to doing some filming with you in the future!
@@JoefishJ Likewise!
Beautiful and so very 'english' in our eyes. Thank you for sharing these lovely films you make. Very warmest wishes to you and your family Sir.
Hey buddy, thanks so much for the kind words! Was there anything 'English/British' you've wondered about maybe a place, food or general question. Brain storming ideas for new vids! Thanks again kind sir! I'll see you on the next one!
Hello Sir and thank you for your very warm reply. I think i am right in thinking the oldest headstone/grave is in a cornish church yard and understanding your appreciation of cornwall i was wondering if you could find it or at-least consider it for a future film of yours, also bearing in mind your like of churches and historic buildings which we heartily share with you. Looking forward to your next film.@@JoefishJ
@@JoefishJ. I have an idea for you. Why not make videos about seaside towns that are good for retirees? I’m American and looking for a nice smaller town in the Uk. I think seaside towns would be good. You could broaden the appeal and reach of your channel, as more people are looking for a good place to retire. Notice how many views the retirement videos get. You could go over things to do, and costs. Mention the name of the town and retirement in the title. I think the more variety of keywords you can pick up the better. Mention how far it is from London in the title, as that will pick up more viewers also. You could use your footage to make two videos.
I subscribed while viewing the "Wells" vlog. I don't know how often I will look at your travel vlogs, but Joe, you are & your accent are very charming and you really care about old England as do I. I really would love to visit Axbridge. I was close to it when I visited Somerset with my English friends, but they are not traveling throughout the Countryside as they once did. Me neither. I do love the ancient churches, pubs, tea shops & just old places in general. You rock, Joe. Peace & love from Kathleen in California
Hey Kathleen from Cali! Thanks so much for heading over to my channel and watching my videos! I hope you continue to enjoy them! I'll be showing you the good, the bad and the ugly! I hope you enjoy the new video and I'll see you on the next one!
Thank you sir for sharing Britain with us. It is a pleasure to see Britain and not just the central of London.
No worries thanks for watching and the comment
Joe Fish this Canadian citizen IS subscribed to your channel!
Greetings my Canadian amigo! Hope you enjoy the channel! See you on the next one.
I have another idea, one which seems to work well and "brings in the crowds", that's to interview local craftspeople in your area (an idea from watching another CZcamsr from the north "Wandering Turnip" who's really good (check him out). The only person I know in Somerset is a harpsichord maker called Andrew Garlick (I nearly bought an instrument from him many years ago, and I was kindly received by him at his house). He lives in Chard I think, and you can get his number from his website. He might be willing to feature. Cheers.
Yes mate good idea! Yes I really enjoy @wanderingturnip content! I will investigate Andrew and see whether he'd be up for it. Chard is in a beautiful area of the country, but has gone down hill massively of recent years... Could be worth a video? Cheers mate for the ideas I like them a lot!!
I’m lucky enough to be based in Axbridge, it really is a gem of a place with some amazing people!
That's awesome mate, was so impressed with Axbridge, like you said especially the locals! Coming back for the day and bringing my family next time! Thanks for watching!
Apparently le charter was from 1202 (bad King John died in 1216). Great fan !! Keep up the great work. Easy, casual and laid back, but clearly explained, informative and enthusiastic at the same time. I like your style. Cheers !
Indeed king John wasn't the best that's for sure! My favourite king from history was King Richard the Lion Heart! Thanks for the kind words mate, got a video incoming from an Ancient Druid Sacrificial Temple, this is CLOSED to the public but I'm planning a secret expedition very soon! Thanks for watching and the comments!
@@JoefishJ GREAT !
Being Australian. I can't get over the age and condition of these buidings. Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching
Lovely video, I hope to see more of this kind...showing lesser known but quite interesting places in the UK! 🤩
Nostalgy hit me hard with this one. I remember when my father worked in the UK and with my mum visited him then we all went on a trip around some beautiful British cities and historical places, these are priceless moments. I would love to visit again and solo travel around these towns but damn... the prices for hotels / hostels etc. are so high currently. (nothing compared to 10 years ago for example when I studied there)
Thanks for watching & the comment! The real Britain is found in the small towns and cities I believe, so you've come to the right place! Thanks again, I hope you enjoy the upcoming adventures!
Hey Joe, another good one, love the info on the heritage of our fair isle.
Awesome thanks 🙏👍
Very interesting Vlog Joe, Axebridge look amazing. It's incredible how those old buildings are still standing.
Thanks for the kind words, hope you enjoy the content! Incredible place Axbridge
I've never heard of Axbridge but now it's on my big map of places I must see!
Hi, thanks for watching & the comment! You've got to check it out, it's a hidden gem off the tourist trail!
Very interesting joe x
Thanks for watching!
Hi, Joe!
I saw you in one of the latest Bald’s videos and I’m glad you have your own channel!
Keep going, making more videos!
I am not form UK but somehow find your content very interesting and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Looking forward to seeing more stuff like this!
Greetings from Uzbekistan!
Awesome thanks for the kind words and support! Hope you enjoy the upcoming adventures
these are the great things about our country, not been there must visit next time im in som
A beautiful spot thanks for watching and the comment
Very interesting Joe x
Thanks Tony! Should get the Metal detector out on the hills overlooking Axbridge!
Thanks for this info on this nice town. With plenty of architectural structures preserved from earlier centuries, it's like walking into outside streets' museums! Like when I felt visiting Prague, as if I entered a storybook ❤ From the tropical sunny Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭🏞️🏖️🍋🥥⛵
Yes, you are right it's incredible isn't it! That's awesome to hear thanks so much for the kind words. Hope you enjoy the upcoming adventures. Please share with any friends you feel will enjoy the videos.
I stayed in a hotel in Axbridge while on a trip to Cheddar Gorge. The tudor style houses (I think, maybe earlier) were so weird to look at.
I lived in axbridge since august 2022 and when you filmed this I was probably at school, there’s also a local park in axbridge that actually cares about safety lol
Hi, i am the Manager of King John's. We have opened now Tuesday to Sunday 1pm to 4pm. Come and say hi. Cheers, Dean.
EXCELLENT video, Joe!! you've got yourself a new fan - and subscriber😀 (Is there ANY subject _sexier_ than History?)
Welcome! Thanks for the kind words 🙏 got some really exciting things upcoming! History isn't boring, it's how it's taught that's boring! Thanks again 👍
Wow I want to go there!
Awesome place check it out if possible. Thanks for watching and the comment
That building needs a touch up on the wood. It's protective coating has been taken off. But it's a really amazing village.
Hi, Thanks for watching & the comment! It does certainly show signs of decay but with it being a National Trust Grade 1 Listed building I'm unsure what protocol they would need to follow. Anyway thanks again, I'm going to head back there in the summer as the museum was closed on my visit.
I have an idea : you say that "peeper" is a typical Somerset term. Could you do a video please on typical Somerset sayings and customs unique to your county (including food and drink). ? Cheers !
Hey buddy that's a BRILLIANT idea... As all the countys of the UK sound so different and have different customs although often only 50miles of separation! Great idea mate, I'll get planning! Thanks so much for watching, please share the content to like minded folk you may know! See you on the next one!
I'm from Somerset and even have it as a name and have never heard the term 'Peeper'.
@7:57. Interesting to see fan vaulting in this church, not common outside of the more important buildings. I understand that this design type is only found in England
There were many things in this church that seemed out of place to be honest... Any ideas what the sculpture of the man holding the Skull was about? Very bizarre!
Where are you from mate?
@@JoefishJ Born in Oz but lived most of my life in London.
Wonderful town, have never been there so thanks for the tour. Slight history correction, Joe, King John died in 1216. Edward 1 was king in 1239. 😁
Thanks for watching & the comment! I know, that's the ironic thing about the hunting lodge being named after him. The dreaded 'Longshanks'! My favourite king from history is Richard the Lion Heart!
A very well-managed and cared-for town. No trash or graffiti is tolerated.
Really beautiful place! Thanks for watching and the comment
I heard men don't get enough compliments, so here we go. However interesting it is to explore English towns, never hurts to have an especially handsome guide to come with it 😊 It's like as if Michael Fassbender and Kurt Cobain had a common relative haha
I wonder if they did any renovation on King John lodge to support the floors.
My favourite periods, Medieval and Tudor. We don't get that in Australia.
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for watching 👍
Yes all very traditional West country, Somerset and Avon. When I see this wonderful church I get scared, in case one day the dreaded I word becomes a reality in that part of the world
Thanks for watching and the comment
@@JoefishJ And Wiltshire too I forgot !
VISITED AXBRIDGE 2 YEARS AGO, STAYED 3 DAYS, AND ONLY SAW THE LARGER PART.WILL AVE TO GO BACK... i ASKED THE RICE OF A SMALL APARTMENT..SAME AS RANGE. ROVER
That's not a surprise I reckon it'll cost you double that now! Thanks for watching & the comment!
have you been to Lavenham
I haven't, is it worth a visit? Putting a 'to-do' list together at the moment.
oh yes it will blow you away its the best preserved medieval town in the uk@@JoefishJ
