Just so everyone knows update. Riley is a big meat head FULL of love and has the best dad. My former boss is Ron who adopted him after following his story online and we work construction. He is always welcome with open arms by all the guys we work with on job sites, even the jackass safety man. Trust me y'all, this dog lives better than me now and is recognized more than we are. Every one looks out for him and plenty of lunches have been stolen by those eye's. It's amazing to see where hey came from to where he is now. One up to ya my co-worker and little buddy Riley. You have hundreds looking out for you now. And I dare a mofo to mess with you or else you'll have an entire job site dropping hardhats and vests. And thank you to stray rescue, you do a job I couldn't handle every day. Riley...... We love you buddy.
Forget jail.. A special place in hell is more like it! Thank God for the special Angels that nursed this innocent sweet baby back to health. We need more people like that in this world.
The penalties for animal cruelty are not harsh enough in my book. You get more time for small time offenses in my state. They should have to go thru, or more than the abuse that the animal went thru. But that's just my opinion.
I'm with you there. I look over at my precious baby girl, she's a very spoiled dachshund, and looking into those eyes and can't figure out how someone could do that to such a sweet face. And Riley has such a sweet, sweet face. It angers me and hurts me all at the same time. But I am so thankful that there are people out there that are willing to help and love so many animals like him 💜🐶
After everything this poor boy has been through and he's still wagging his tail. Bless his heart!!! I hope that I can be as good as a dog someday when I grow up. Thanks SR for helping him and us too to do God's work.

I bet that would be a beautiful moment to see. Dogs always remember the humans who help & love them. You could have dog treats and munchies and drinks for the owners.

Poor baby! He looks like the Chocolate Lab/Pit mix we found out in the country in Feb 2010. We named him Buddy so you calling Riley buddy was cool. So glad you rescued him, he looks great and so happy. Such a fighter! Thank you for all you do for these animals. I would love to adopt him as a twin for Buddy but several years ago he decided he didn't like other male dogs around. He jumped over me and attacked our Doberman/Irish Wolfhound male. Have had to keep them separated the last 5 years. Not sure what brought it on, they'd been together for 4-5 yrs prior to that. Fixed the females so we thought jealousy over my attention/affection. He's fine with male cats and humans, as well as female dogs! I hope Riley finds his loving forever home very soon. Wish I could take him but musical chairs with two male dogs is not good and adding Riley would definitely not be fair to Riley! He deserves a home with undivided attention and lots of spoiling. Thank you again for saving him and giving him a chance to be happy and loved.
