Jill is right, but she is being such a hypocrite. She’s telling Kira that she shouldn’t nag Abby and disrupt rehearsal to get kalani back on the team, when 3 seasons ago, that’s exactly what she did for Kendall after she joined candy apples.
I think it’s more of her speaking on her own experiences and knows it’s not right. Just because somebody does something in their past then tells somebody else not to do it doesn’t always make them a hypocrite. It means they’ve learned from their mistakes and don’t want others to repeat them.
Maybe but still. Jill never acknowledges that she does the same thing.

You probably would be too, if you had a child who is clearly a head above the rest. Then a new kid comes who rivals your kid, who you’ve never once doubted their talent one bit.........until this new kid shows up. I mean, seriously, how obsessed was Kira with having Kalani go up against Maddie, like chomping at the bit, straight up quit because Abby wouldn’t pit them against each other. I’d say that’s enough to put you in a “mood”. I always try to put myself in other people’s shoes. Kira is a pushy, spoiled woman who takes her kid away when she doesn’t get her way. Abby wasn’t wrong in this situation and Melissa has every right to be in mama bear mode. That’s just my opinion.
@@justkaren6450 had you said that when Kalamazoo first came back that would’ve made sense. But Melissa and the rest of the moms were shock to see kids come back after the huge fight she had with Abby. At this point in time Kira and Melissa were cool

Agreed but when Kira didn’t get her way she always left the team and acted selfish and started arguments. It was NEVER Kalanis fault bcuz Kalani was WAY maturer in those scenarios. Like the mums were just telling the truth on what Kira had to do for her kid and the mums got angry bcuz Kira didn’t listen and got all the kids in trouble. Tbh Abby was right in this scenario she wanted to give another kid a chance to go up against Maddie and Kira was annoyed and angry bcuz Kalani couldn’t do it and started making a big chaos. Abby was right not to have Kalani in the dance bcuz of Kira so the moms were even right….
So we really arent gonna talk about the fact that they danced to live music. Ok-

"Run, Run" was better than "Don't Fence Me In" imo. They had an amazing choir singing backstage during the whole dance for crying out loud lol.

Disagree. "Run, Run" did have a great concept, beautiful emotional execution and that amazing choir, but the choreography lacked intricacy and technique. It was almost "too" contemporary if you know what I'm saying. Those dancers could so more than they were given for sure. "Don't Fence Me In" was also a cool concept and the choreography was intricate with that big prop. It had tricks, it was lyrical, it had partner work, it was contemporary in choreography/movement without sacrificing the technical aspect. Not to mention it was beautifully executed.
It’s a split decision between the people who watch it because the BDA nailed the emotional execution hands down. And their technique was close to perfection. While ALDC nailed the choreography aspect, and their technique was also really good. I feel as though if there was a different set of judges, the outcome could definitely change
Seems Kalani is wiser than her mom.
I really love Kalani. She has always had a ton of maturity for her age and to see her be even more mature and appropriate than her mom, that made me have a lot of respect for her as well.
i agree with abby on this. the dance had already been choreographed without kalani, everyone's done the spacing, have mostly figured out the choreography that involves the fence (which was already difficult enough without adding kalani). this wasn't just a pretty lyrical dance where everyone's doing mostly the same thing, no props and easy spacing, this was very intricate and difficult choreography. you cant just add someone in.

Abby is a fluke and and a bias person she allowed Kalani to join the group and there was an episode when Nia was not there and she refused to let her sit on stage. She never gives Nia any preference and nobody says a thing. She borders on me thinking that she is racist but say what? Life is always a challenge but still Nia will rise.

I honestly thought it was very mature of Kalani to speak to the mothers herself about her opinion of not being in the group dance. Btw I thought Mackenzie killed the group dance, even though she got more cutesy acro/hip-hop style dances on the show. I wish we could have seen her perform more lyrical and contemporary solos.
BDA absolutely should have one this one! The music for ALDC’s music didn’t really fit the theme or concept, it was like they were dancing to the wrong track!
This was one of the only times that I saw Melissa standing up for another kid besides her own, saying maddie misses rehearsal all the time and still gets put in the group dance

i have to agree with abby and the moms here. Putting kalani in the dance after they all rehearsed with the (really difficult) prop for an entire day would be a disaster and a lost of time. Also, like Jill said, missing a day of rehearsal because you have a job and the teacher knows it and missing dance cause you stormed out and no one knows if you're coming back are two totally different situations. And also, Abby was actually being nice while explaining to Kira but Kira forcing it on Abby made her mad
I loved that fake cry Melissa did at the beginning when she said “it’s weird with out Kira” I mean they do get along and Malissa treat Kalani like her own daughter but that was real fake

I agree I think that in the ALDC group routine the music didn't quite fit the story and costumes and the story didn't really come through as clearly
New York Dance Experience is a rigged competition set up by the producers. That's common knowledge. The ALDC rarely, if ever, lose there.

This has always been my favorite group dance. I love all of Abby’s group statement pieces but for some reason, I love how heavy but light this feels.
I agree with Abby this time. It looked hard enough without Kalani. Adding her in at the last minute would be too much for them. It's basically reworking the number at the last minute.
The costume change for bda was a total fail. The black shorts visible from the start, none of the dresses fit any of the dancers and they failed to fasten them properly so they were falling open early destroying the concept

to be fair, when Maddie was gone for a day because of a job, Abby and Gia knew and worked around it and Maddie was home schooled so they could easily schedule a private for her to catch up. This is a completely different situation.
