honestly i think she’s trying to act, that looks kinda like the pain face they make on stage when they are trying to bring the character to life. if you look at them at 1:42 they’re all making those faces. that is because they need to practice the dance and the faces as well. 😊

Abby emotionally abused these girls. Humiliating, body shamed them & treated them very poorly. You can see the fear in the girls faces. Many kids had to go to therapy because of this show. She traumatized them, which is why it’s no surprise most girls don’t talk to Abby. Including Maddie herself. Abby, a grown woman, had such a weird obsession with Maddie that it was certainly overlooked & concerning. Not only that but Maddie confirmed that she got way closer to her family after the show meaning Abby was also dividing families & relationships. This whole show was a trainwreck for all the girls’ mental health.

Y’all do know it’s a tv show. Not everything on the show is the 100 percent truth. Things get over exaggerated and the moms admitted the producers made them fight. Remember they are under a contract they have to do what they are told. Only reason Kelly got out of it was cause of the fight between her and Abby when Abby brought kalani (which really was the producer idea)
just imagine how more amazing this team could have been if abby played to each of their strengths instead of just comparing them all to maddie.
I truly believe that’s why some of her numbers lost. She wanted them to be Maddie instead of playing to their different strengths to make it look interesting and not boring.

I think it was about perfect technique, musicality and the ability to pick up the choreography and adding something special. I disagree with that idea, but I am guessing that is what Abby wanted.
Then she should of have the girls more time like she gave Maddie. After class sessions were ALWAYS taken up. Then instead of calmly fixing the mess ups she would degrade and compare them to Maddie. That killed the passion and drive to impress when basically everything you do is wrong to the teacher. Abby also personally bullied some of those kids Paige, Brooke, Chole and Nia are good examples. Nia had to drop any other activities such as Karate and only focus on dance. Chole, Brooke and Paige were degraded at every turn for no reason. You can't really improve when the person that hates your guts won't even give you the time of day or help you get better.

@@moonwalkerangel7008 ehhhh, I think that’s why the concept exists though. Showbiz really does reflect the "just another number" ideology; that’s what directors want to see. They want performers with strong technique and stage presence who can pick up an act quickly and perform in sync with others. That’s less work for them. It’s just an ideology that Abby buys into, which would be fine if she was just another small dance coach aiming to prepare her kids for show business. But she’s NOT just another small dance coach, she’s big enough to have her own show. I really wish she used her fame privilege to make showbiz culture less toxic, instead of indoctrinating a bunch of fragile children into it in such a harsh way :(

Let's be clear, Abby told Leslie to shut up because she made a good point about the shoes the dancers were wearing and how it helped Maddie with her turns. When Cathy speaks in the audience Abby NEVER told her to shut up. When Stacey was talking bad about a duet near the judges, Abby said nothing. She disrespected Leslie because she hinted that Maddie may have had help from her shoes.

Isn’t it amazing when you look back at this clip Abby says that all of the girls (except Maddie) are “EASILY rePlACeaBle” then in season 7, the remaining girls and moms leave and Abby cries like a hysterical person. It shows how karma is alive and lovely, as well as to teach everyone to appreciate and nurture the people you have around you. Don’t take people for granted or put all of your eggs in one basket.

Im so glad my gymnastics experience was the exact opposite of this. We didnt care if we won it was about personal growth. Of course we wanted to win but we were just as happy when our teammates won.
