Kelly was always my favorite mother when it came to being an actual mother because she was the one who stood for kids having fun living their childhood more than any other mother. She always talked about that and said that it was important which I think is a really good mindset to have as a parent

Abby seen Chloes talent, but because she couldnt control Chloe and Christi she tried as hard as she could to downplay Chloes success, then started giving her worse choreo, and shes admitted that she said whatever and did whatever she wanted to them because they couldnt leave the show. It’s sad that Maddie wasn’t scared because she was bad, going to injure herself or injure someone else. She was scared because she knew Abby would be mad which is so wrong for a kid to feel like that about another adult.

@@kellymcquay2626 That’s honestly how I used to see it and feel it and get SO frustrated. But looking back now, the pressure of wanting to please Abby and being absolutely terrified to disappoint her in anyway and ending up on Abbys bad side. Is still stressful. It’s a different stress than what the other girls had to go through but still stress all the same. Maddie and Abby did have a great relationship but the cracks behind that relationship are not nice. No kid should have to feel the amount of anxiety to mess up that Maddie felt on the show, if you watch Maddie is constantly cracking her knuckles, playing with her hands and hair, and she cried a lot too just as much as Kendall, Paige, etc. No child on that show should be so fearful of making a mistakes because of one teacher made them afraid to mess up, there is no such thing as perfection but you can always try your best. Abby never taught this which is why the girls were so anxious all the time. I honestly feel like it’s about perception.

Ikr. I feel like if you fall when you skate you’re gonna be fine. I go skating all the time and always fall. It’s just a scrape on the knee, or sometimes nothing. I wanna be on live TV and stuff I wouldn’t have a childhood (not that I’d be on TV anyways) your life is taken away by fame, hate, and the internet. It’s honestly so sad how a dance school impacted there lives.

It really frustrates me how when Maddie doesn't want to do something, or something happens so she can't do something, the moms automatically blame it on the fact that "Maddie isn't the best at it, so she doesn't want to do it!". Like no, maybe she just doesn't want to do it. For example, the ice skating. It wasn't because she wasn't the best at it, It was because she was terrified of Abby and was emotionally abused by her. She thought that If she went ice skating, Abby would not like her anymore and would hate her. It just makes me feel sad how this show affected the kids lives', in such a negative way.
It really is sad and I’m not 100% sure but I believe Melissa pushed Maddie to ice skate even tho she didn’t want to. I feel bad for Maddie because it always seemed like she was pushed to do stuff or put up to such a high expectation. i’m usually on christi and kelly’s side, but their little snarky comments about maddie and the whole ice skating situation was uncalled for. i don’t wanna say that they’re jealous of maddie, but sometimes it’s really difficult to say that they aren’t.
I think they’re jealous sometimes, I have to add, that their child isn’t Maddie because of the special parts and favouritism she receives from Abby. They sometimes are jealous of her, maybe because they don’t have the advantages that she has had but I think mostly the producers wanted to make it seem that way, as most of us in the fandom or who watch Dance Moms know that they cut and edit things in or out to make the parents/children/Abby look bad.

Everyone might have to understand that she pressures the kids, yes. But she does it for good intentions and hopes that the kids will have a bright future. It is necessary for her to raise her voice or pressure them. If she doesn't train the kids, they might not perform like this. If the school is not good, they might not come to film. Sometimes she plays, smiles with the kids, sometimes it might look scary, but the scene at the pool, she looks happy and plays with the kids. I think she is very lovely.❤🎉
