@@anusharay5961 It’s so sad to see. Especially w s8 kids, since I had known a few of them for a while before the show. Pressley lives a town or two over from me, so a few years back I’d ALWAYS see her at competition, especially local ones. And Gia, though I’m assuming Theater was her first love, when at convention she’d take 2 out of the 7 or 8 mandatory classes at convention. (And my sister’s old dance teammate was in Matilda w her as well) I mean you can clearly see people who actually want to dance with Abby and don’t care as much about the show (OGs, Payton, Nick, etc.) but the. Others just want to be on the show (such as the people whom would only train on camera, but wouldn’t take the classes when the cameras were off?

Maddie is a good dancer but she is the favorite and it's not fair for the other girls all the girls should have extra practice if Maddie is. And Jojo is more successful than her and out of all Maddie doesn't talk to Abby but Jojo does after all she has done to her " she deserves nothing" smh all the girls are good in different dances like Jojo is more like jazz or hip-hop Maddie is good at lyrical and the other girls etc.

To be (slightly) fair, a big part seemed to be that Melissa was willing to take her kids out of school for these privates, and all of the absences were why she moved them to home schooling... but I know there’s probably more to it than that

i feel like her point of equality makes sense until you get to talking abt the dance privates. from what i understand that is an extra payment that they sign up for so if she wants it to be equal then she has to ask or pay for it. if melissa and jill choose to that shouldn’t be the girls getting special treatment. specifically when kendall learned the solo early i feel like that isn’t fair to say jill cheated
@@paytonarnett4122 Abby had finally say for privates and she always canceled everyone privates but Maddie and Mackenzie. Learning a dance earlier is cheating especially when they claim the playing field is even. Fun fact Maddie actually learned her dances way ahead of everyone else yet Abby and Melissa claimed she could learn one in 15 minutes and have it perfected.
@Aimi Rose not true, Christi fought for Nia, Paige, Brooke, and Mackenzie multiple times and were happy for them when they won. She didn’t condone Melissa and Jill because of the secrets, lies, and manipulation they would use to get what they want for their kids. And you have to remember a lot of this is heavily edited, “scripted”, and manipulated by producers. Melissa and Jill never stood up for other children they way the other moms did.

fun fact: melissa really didnt CHOOSE for her kids to be homeschooled. Maddie & Mackenzie had over 50 absences bc of dance so they were thrown out
I believe they were planning on being homeschooled even before they got kicked out - that’s why legal action couldn’t be taken against them. Because they already signed up for a homeschooling system, but didn’t officially start it until after the girls got kicked out.
Technically she did choose by not taking her kids to school and choosing dance over their education

In real life, she’s not even comparable to her persona on the show. I’ve seen her at conventions, both pre+post dance moms (s7, not s8) and she’s actually very sweet. Unpopular opinion: I think when Chloe left the room for a break it was perfectly ok to have Maddie run her solo. I think it was just a timing and convenience thing more than favoritism. But that is the ONLY time I will let Maddie favoritism slide because I don’t think it was that obvious

I’m going to be honest, Maddie did the same steps and the same dance so so so so many times so I’m not surprised that she learns it fast and does it amazingly.

I really admire Maddie as a dancer, but the only reason she wins is because she repeats the same exact solo with a few different steps, it’s always lyrical, that’s what she is good at. But the other girls, always different style, different choreography and they rarely get solos in a style that they’re pretty good at. However, they are all magnificent dancers !

That is so unfair for Christi to threaten to take chloe's phone if she keeps being nervous. I usually regard her as one of my favorite moms for sticking up for her child but that was so ridiculous. She's absolutely going to be nervous because of how abby treats anything other than second place. If I was her student I'd be freaking out at every competition.

I feel so bad for Ellie because all of her chances and opportunities that she was given was ruined because of her mother. Everytime when she apologizes for her mother’s behavior indicates that she has more maturity than her own mother. Now Ellie is living on a environment that is more dangerous, toxic and negative.
Honestly I don’t blame Melissa for what she did. It’s not ok to lie but when you go to a dance studio it’s to dance not to have bffs especially when you are the mom of TWO dancers. But Jill is really a hypocrite she’s the first one to attack Melissa but she’s also the first to go behind the moms’ backs and lie and give her daughter a secret private. Agree! I honestly don’t get the hate against Melissa. She’s a mother before she’s a friend. She’s going to get opportunities for her daughters - if Abby’s being a terrible person and taking opportunities away from the other girls, then that’s Abby’s fault. Not Melissa’s.

They called her sneaky because she tried to take opportunities from other children (like not giving them privates), lying about children so that her daughters would get even more love from Abby (saying that Chloe rolled her eyes in class when Maddie wasn'tgiven a solo for 2 weeks) and overall lying (2 sapphires/wishbone). Melissa did all these things to benefit her child, yes. But it was at the expense of other children, so it was ethically wrong.
The whole point of the argument is that Melissa lied about the fact she gets her daughters privates. Not the privates itself. For me I would rather someone tell me the brutal truth than a painful lie.

She hated Chloe’s family especially because Christi came from a humble background. She hated that Christi was trying to make Chloe more successful than Maddie, she hated Clara because she was cute.

I don’t see an issue if u want to get your kid more privates, it’s obvious that Jill and Melissa wanted to do what’s best for their kids, they aren’t hurting anyone else, if Christi wanted Chloe to do privates then she should book them (i understand before the show that Melissa did privates) but if u want your kid to succeed then do so. Like extra lessons in maths or science.
Privates were very scarce at the studio. Maddie alone used to take up three private timeslots, that Melissa wasn't paying for, and that was even before the show was even a concept. IF the other children were able to get privates, that their parents would have HAD to pay for, they were often cancelled for filming purposes of just because Abby didn't want the other girls to come close to Maddie or Mackenzie. And then other than her three privates, she also got extra practice before school, during lunch and gym class, before rehearsal, and after competitions. If all of that was just Melissa's choice to put dance before school and none of the other moms were willing to do that for their children, that would be one thing. But they weren't even given the opportunity. It really wasn't an even playing field
Christi has already said that she can't get privates and she is willing to pay for them. Abby doesn't like Christi.
In season one it was explained better. Melissa worked at the front desk and was in charge of scheduling the privates so whenever the other moms wanted one, they weren’t able to get one because it was all booked up. Kelly also said that Brooke used to get a lot of privates when she was Maddie’s age because she was the favorite. I’m thinking Abby would clear the schedule and make time for her favorites where as everyone else had to wait and might not could have been able to get them consistently.
It was a tough time, but my little Kendall became the best dancer in the ALDC due to those lessons.

What drew me to watch this show is to see how talented these girls are and how they dance can really move you to tears, I wish they had a better teacher who wasn’t so mentally, verbally, and emotionally abusive to them and how the moms focused on fighting and drama but I get it though that’s how the show got it’s popularity, but like I said I watched the show based on the positives
I low key feel sorry for Chloe. She’s such an amazing dancer, but it just doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

Ok I know everyone is saying Christi is the best mom but:
1. Don’t you have to pay for private’s so that means if she wanted one for her child she would get it
2. Who tells their child that their gonna get punished for their emotions
1. All time slots went to Maddie for privates. And Abby hated Christi, even when she was willing to pay for privates, she couldn’t get one.
2. She’s a mom, moms do that. Ofc it didn’t make sense tho.
Maddie & Mackenzie r homeschooled, meaning they have more and more time for privates. So, if they have more time, obviously Melissa would take up most of the time slots. Plus, if they pay $16,000 a year for Abby to teach their children dance, privates will obviously be a lot.
For the second one, every mother on that show has done it, don’t blame Christi for saying it once. Melissa is even worse when it comes to getting punished for emotions.

I’m gonna be honest. The ‘Dig It’ routine really fits 5th place. In my opinion the routine looked really silly and I agree with Abby, Kendall and Nia weren’t fast enough. It was kind of all over the place.

Agreed 100%. Those children were heavily mistreated, and most were behind in social skills & education. For me, dancing is just an after school activity/passion and shouldn’t be acknowledged more than education. Although Maddie & Mackenzie we’re technically used to become professionals and Broadway stars, education and social development in such young children should be taken more seriously. You can’t have a professional dancer who doesn’t know how to socialise, or who is anti-social.

After watching the clip of Yolanda going into the class and kind of destroying Elliana’s chance and her saying “you HAD to go in there”,reminds me of the time Yolanda went and kept on saying that lily and Macy were bullying Elli, and Elli said “There not bullying me mom just stop”. Now it’s very clear that Yolanda is speaking for her child and not letting her speak for herself, even though i’m not a big fan of Elliana and what she’s doing now I do think that she had a great talent and her mom ruined it for her. Also I think that after Kelly, Brooke and Paige lest the show went downhill, the mini moms and the most recent season is honestly not that great.

yeah ultimatums from your parents would just make you more nervous. It's like Yolande threatening Elli with removal from the team if she doesn't win. The worst way to deal with nerves to tell someone not to be nervous. The best way is to distract them or say you understand they're nervous but they have your support.
I think she was just really frustrated and took it out on chloe which was wrong.

In my opinion, Kendall could’ve been a better dancer had Abby been kinder towards her because Kendall has anxiety and it’s extremely obvious that the stressful environment she was in made it so much worse. Her facial expressions and posture would have definitely improved if Abby was nurturing and caring. However she didn’t because Abby was neither of those things.
I agree. Maybe if Abby was more positive to ALL of them, they would have been fabulous but instead Abby was obsessed with Maddie and brought all the kids down to make Maddie look good.
Honestly all of Abby’s kid’s had god given talent when it came to dancing but she failed to nurture any of their talents the only reason kids like Kalani and Brynn remained as good as they did was because they had done most of their training at studios that took the time to train their talents properly and therefore when they got to Abby’s they ended being better than most of her kids because of that
