I made a visit to Forgemasters Sheffield today and met The Good Security Guard, The Bad Security Guard and The Ugly One. You make your mind up which is which, it's not up to me to say.
Some people just don't understand the Photography is not a crime, and neither is trespass.

If he's directing the public, he needs to be SIA trained and he needs his SIA card on display. Also, the area you were in was publicly accessible. I would have waited for the police and waited for them to educate him.
The owner or his agents can ask you to leave. If a bloke does not ID himself how do you know if he is the owner or an agent?

In fairness though, just to play devils advocate, and be a reasonable human being.... he was on private land filming and they didnt want him to be, so general courtisy would be to politely leave. There are laws, there are civil matters, then there is rudeness and hypocracy. Exercise your rights, but play ball too, this is what I dont get. You take the polices name and badge numbers all the time but when you are infringing upon others rights you dont seem to see the hypocracy. I like the channel and the content but at times I see flaw, just like all the other channels

I did security back in the uk for years, had lots of police interaction and was a member of the national union of journalists.
Yes its often a civil matter, unless its mod, maritime/aviation.
Police often don't care who you are or why you are there other than to appease the person who made the call.
If there ever is a call "numerous complaints" is usually one person
Whilst it says "private property" on signage. Usually Courts will say that private property doesn't start until it is a fenced/gated, or barrier access as others have pointed out.
If anyone claims to be security they should have an SIA license in the UK, it has to be worn and visible.
They do have to show you their ID, but they don't have to show it to you on camera, and they don't have allow you to take photos/videos of it (so be respectful of that) as the sia license used to have their name printed on (Don't know if they still do or its just an sia number) and they have a right to privacy for their name not to be publicly broadcast. The same as if police were to stop you, they can ask for your name but you are under no obligation to give it unless its related to a criminal matter, security are not public servants.
Don't care about getting someone in trouble. They have to show that license. If they don't, screen grab their face, with timestamp, location, and report them to the sia.
The only way to stop these idiots thinking they are above the law is by actively doing something about it.
Only posting it on YT social media, it doesn't really do much.
If the SIA catch them without a license, or without one on display, it can be a fine, or revoking of their license...

I have to say that it actually makes me physically ill seeing the absolute stupidity these people have interfering with you recording the plaques of fallen soldiers that gave their lives for our way of life (supposedly freedom). It’s literally like hiding from the public those heroes. Those plaques deserve more respect by all and to be seen by all. Greetings from Canada.

You can film there because there is alot of restricted jobs which are completely restricted from the public, to record there you must email the firm and fill in a NDA

I really love auditors, as people in the last 12months + have been audit the police, NHS, and other places that have been over looked for many many years, I mean, the NHS have done nothing but dance on tictoc, as hospitals all over the UK have been empty, and anyone that, are making nasty comments, here about auditors is it because you your selves have been caught doing something that you shouldn't at work, I mean auditors have filmed the police abusing their powers appsolutly amazing stuff keep up the good work all you auditors out there 👍👍

the change of pavement is always a good indication of a boundary , when I was despatch rider I'd park really close to building that had a change of Pavement , that meant it was owned and not public , therefore no parking ticket :-)

It's a very common auditing mistake. They believe that sect 33 rubbish and think it gives them the right to wander anywhere they please. Hope PJ sees the light and learns that there are no rights to film on private property.

Was that a really a private road you were on when videoing the plaques? Looks accessible and lawful to be standing on to me under section 33 of the criminal justice act.
They said it was private, and I wasn't in a position to argue. If he had just let me video the plaques I would have been gone in 2 mins. The good security guy at gate 2 was brilliant, he told me it wasn't a problem to video the scorpion. Why cant they all be like that, it's not like I was doing any damage or bothering anyone.

@@martinnoyes8507 It's not a MOD site mate. Forgemasters are one of the oldest steel making companies in Sheffield. They do jobs for the MOD but only on an as and when basis. These two plums are just suffering from "I can tell you what to do" syndrome.

im minded of a story involving security , a firm invited kids to play on a firms playing field it was to be a sort of a saturday club event , but the security staff didnt want any one bothering them.....as they drank their tea and busicuts. the firm quickly sacked the security firm and employed their own staff , the saturday club happened , a few weeks later , and every one enjoyed it

Email the company and ask them why they have plaques on display when the public is thrown off the entrance when trying to read the family names?
