Hello, I wish I could give you an answer but it requires more questioning to give you a straight answer. You need to know the OEM repair information to see what they say if the module needs to be programmed or and coded. If it needs to be programmed then you need the OEM programming software to do this procedure. You can book a diagnostic tool consultation with me if you want certainty on how to properly approach your vehicle. If you dont want certainty you can ask Autel New York or your supplier.
Im looking to upgrade an old "level 1" autel unit; My question is as follows if youd be so kind: If i went with a 906bt, can i purchase a j-box down the line for programming? Such that, does the pro 908 just include the flash hardware as a package- or is there some compatibility whereas theyre used in conjunction & only a 908p (or better) supports this function? / does the jbox not run thru a windows pc independently? Hello, maybe you can help me, i have a avalanche 2006 and change the PCM with the number part of 12589463, so I reprogrammed with the tech2 and tis2000 when I finished and config key, probe the engine and run but the engine no started put the light low and then is moved the position thortle, it's strangers, I check all again and I can conclude that the program is corrupt, after i do all with other PCM number part 12602801 and all is perfect, the starting engine. it's normal why does is it happen?

Hi buddy, you do some great videos and have a lot of knowledge, looking to upgrade from my starter unit mk808 I was just wondering what you think would be a good unit I mostly just do servicing, would be nice to change a few settings one of my cars is a Volvo c30, do you happen to know if one of the units will reset the dpf eolys counter for the additive tank? I did a dpf regen and filled the bladder but it said it was still empty as I could not reset the counter, I am getting into auto a/c does any of the units have output tests for the a/c system like turning the a/c fan on cycling the compressor and testing pressure switches etc. sorry to ramble any help would be most appreciated.

Each OEM has a special site that allows you to gain access to their programming software. All you need is a credit card to purchase a subscription , and knowledge on how to download and install the software ( This is the most difficult part about programming) I think I have a video explaining this in detail . Pretty much. Might be some unique cars that are not populare that the tool wont cover. But for the most parts I have clients all over the world and they are getting results with the tool
Yes I agree. But I typically dont update all the modules unless the manufacture instucts me to. I usually tell me client to offer a discount to the customer if they ever need programming down the road.
Windows os has nothing to do with how much power the laptop gives to the USB port. If it's a communication issue it's probably hard ware or driver issue which will be most of the time the device that is plugged into the laptop. Also I really like windows 10 but it has more USB native USB driver problems then windows 7. I like most of your autel videos but stop giving miss information on things that u clearly don't understand. Or just say windows 7 isn't supported anymore don't use it.

I'm new to GM...i've never seen nothing like this, on a car, in my life...and we own all Foreigns....none of them ever had to be reprogrammed...simply because the battery died!!! GM oughta be ashamed of themselves!!!!

Doesn't matter where you get your information. I use alldata, on demand, and manufacture tsb's. I regularly find that one two or all of them are wrong. Doesn't matter what expert you talk to, no on has all the right information or answers. I would bet my shirt on it. Work your way into learning how to solve the issues on your own. If you get used to someone holding your hand, this line of work probably isn't suiting you. Tis2web and replacing a old gen gm bcm is about as easy as j2534 will ever get.
Hey RC . As long as your getting results and have access to reliable information is all I care about. Just coming from a consultative perspective I have to give the client some sort of infrastructure to learn how approach and diagnose the problem. I typically like to go to the OEM sites directly ( at least in the begining) because there have been times were I have used platforms like identifix and noticed they left out certan information regarding a procedure. Then when I go the OEM site then you will see the full information and procedure. ( all of the repair platoforms are copying the info from the OEM ) Once you obtain the right information then its up to the tech to use is experience and knowledge to solve the problem. I agree with you that you cant take the information "For Gospel" but at least they know were to obtain the correct information. The most difficult thing about programming in my opinion is just getting the software installed. Some times even the most technical programmer will come across a situation that they cant figure out. Some people prefer to figure those I.T. issues themself.. Others see the value in having a mentor to speed this learning process to reduce any time consuming and costly headaches. After the clients gets a hang of it.. With in a years time they will start teaching me a few things that I didnt know!
its really sad that you pay $3000 or more that has upgrades for 1 year!! or 2 and then have to buy the soft ware from the dealer!! i am in the wrong business!!! what a load of crap!!!!!!!!!
Hey Daylight. I think you need to relalize the OEM software files and Autel diagnostic software files are 2 different platforms. The OEMS build servers dedicated to program specific vin numbers. This takes alot of money to develop and build. If Autel created there own Servers to hose all the oem software.. The price of the tool will be extemely expensive in order to pay for all of those servers. The ROI on programing is quite high.. For example my client charges 300 USD to program. The cost of a GM subscription is 40 USD. Thats really good profit . I would encourage you to start programming because its only going to get worse with the new vehicles having new modules every year.

I really care about the memory.. If your doing programming seriously then I would recomend a windows 10 Pro and 1 terabyte of memory
