- Back in 2015, there was almost a Foot Clan Origins show that we almost got that took place in the TMNT universe. Shredder and Splinter grow up together in The Foot Clan and appear to start off as friends. It never got made but recently clues and images of what it would have been like have come out, in this video we break it down and analyze it.

I would have loved to see this, but I completely understand why Nick chose Rise of TMNT instead. I sure hope that we see something like this in cartoons again, a stand-alone movie/miniseries about the origin of the foot clan is something I wanted since I was 7 watching the 2003 show.

This would have been really interesting to see with Shredder and Splinter as friends like how they were brother's or friends in the 2012 show before they become enemies in the future .

It's a real shame this project didn't get greenlit, I think this could have been a great series.
I would have liked to see this as a television mini series event of sorts. I mean it would have been interesting to see on TV.
The CG show from the early 2000's always looked cool to me, for the time. I remember watching the trailer with my cousins online before it was cancelled.
A TMNT prequel is not a bad idea. Although i would prefer a live action show.

Dang it. Now I want to see that show. Maybe with something like every episode in the last minutes we flash forward to present day and splinter reference the event of the episode to the turtles or something like that.

There are some big announcements for TMNT! First their will be a new line of classic figures called Elite series turtles which are based off the Eastman and Laird comic book series and second Rise of the Teenage mutant ninja turtles has four new episodes on August 7th all being a part of a four parter series arc, the episodes being called (part 1) “E-turtle sunshine of the spotless mind”, (part 2) “Shreddy or not”, (part 3) “Anatawa Hitorijanai” and (part 4) “Rise”. It is currently unknown whatever or not that if they are Rise of the TMNT’s season 2 finale and series finale or just the season’s, if this is true this could mean that there is a possibility for us to see a season 3 for Rise containing 24 episodes as well.
Imagine the scenes if there was a foot show😂

What happened to the proposed Solo Villain movies? As last year Paramount said that there would be villain centered movies released for Paramount+ starting in 2023. But they didn't say if they would be set in the same universe as Mutant Mahyem or not. But it's 2023 now and we haven't had any yet, so what happened to them?
I’m torn tbh. I would have loved to have seen this show, but if it got made, Rise probably wouldn’t have been made. Rise is how I entered this fandom. It was the first TMNT iteration I actually watched. I probably wouldn’t have been there watching it if it did come out. Idk how these things work so maybe one day this idea could be made reality??? Again, I have no idea how these things work. I can only hope lol
I do hope, that someone someday and somehow will make this show happen. Because, i would like to see a tmnt show with just splinter and shredder and just waiting for the turtles. But, I'm pretty sure that they didn't let the show air because some people thought it wasn't a good idea to have a show without the turtles and just the two friends who became enemies. In conclusion, i hope that this show is getting its chance to shine someday. Like,if you agree

It would have been the first TMNT cartoon show without the turtles.
A great way to end the show would have been to show Splinter making it to New York, the baby Turtles fall down the sewer and fade to black.
This show gives me Fanboy and Chumchum vibes.

I would have like to see this series. We been seeing the Turtles a lot. How about stories about other characters. Hamato Yoshi and Oroko Saki story would have been good. Seeing how these two who they were before they became enemies.

Thankfully they scrapped this. Not a fan of this art style but if they would let someone pick this up with a darker tone (Cough* Cough* Netflix*) similar to "The Secret History of the Foot Clan" THAT would be amazing.

This could have been interesting, they should do either some miniseries or animated movies on some of these. After the Batman/TMNT movie they should put out more with this franchise.

This was an interesting concept but I understand why it was never green-lighted. I guess the executive was like how can you have a TMNT show without the Turtles. I can only assume they thought this wouldn't work with just a young splinter and Shredder. I think he would have been great

This is a neat, shared backstory idea for Splinter & Shredder, but, yeah, no Ninja Turtles means I probably wouldn't have watched it for very long. Knowing these kind of Smallville styled young adult, prequel shows we'd most likely have only seen this universe's TMNT in an epilogue set after the series finale. Lame. To me, what would've been better, is if they developed this into a more traditional Ninja Turtles cartoon, but, included flashbacks to Saki & Yoshi's past. Having your pizza & eating it too.

Either what's up you guys my name is Everett and I'm visually impaired completely and yeah I mean I completely agree. I would have loved to seen that as much as I love the turtles I feel like Splinter and Shredder don't really get like a back story to themselves and I wish that that would have been better you know personally I would have had it been based on the 2012 series cuz that's a series that I love the necessary that I really like I mean no disrespect to the other series I like the other shoes as well but in 2012 when is my primary series I would have loved to have seen a series with that Doreen Hoon Lee and Kevin Michael Richardson as their respective you know Shredder and Splinter and then that way we would have paid into the 2012 series they should have came out with Splinter and Shredder series first and then came out with the 2012 series later or I don't know but I do apologize you guys if this text comes out weird it's not me it's cuz my phone has voice over and sometimes the voice over doesn't get everything that I do apologize for that

Would have much rather had this than "Rise of the TMNT".
Eh... decent idea and all, but I would have rather they made the more obvious spin-off, a series based on the Mighty Mutanimals of the 2012 series. I'm very disappointed they didn't do anything else with those characters. Maybe they could have had Mutagen Man as one of the group or a villain somehow, instead of canning the series before they actually cured him.
But we can all take solice in the fact the 4Kids series where the Turtles somehow co-existed with the obnoxious baby versions of the characters. That "Incredible Shrinking Serling" episode was BAD enough. If there was a TMNT series WORSE than TNM, it would be that.

A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series without the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Ordinarily I would use words like 'unheard of' or 'blasphemy' or my personal favorite, 'WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!' (not to be confused with a certain popular angry nerd), but this actually looks kind of cool and I'm sorry it was passed on in favor of Rise, BECAUSE I WOULD MUCH RATHER HAVE SEEN THIS GET MADE THAN THAT LOAD OF MUTAGEN DRENCHED GARBAGE!! The idea of teen versions of Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki having adventures back in Tokyo before the big move to New York and the introduction of the turtles is interesting in it's own right. They could incorporate some Easter eggs for the turtles like a symbol on a building somewhere that looks like big a turtle, or maybe a turtle/kappa statue (they very closely resemble the ninja turtles) in a Japanese garden. The only thing that I would have to ask them would be to please not introduce a teenage version of Tang Shen. I know that this would probably fall on deaf ears but I wouldn't want to get to know her as a cute teenage kid while also knowing that Saki will kill her as a young twenty something woman in the future. It would make her death that much more difficult for me.
Well like Eric Robles said, this series could've been a lot more serious and would have most likely have dark moments. So Tang Shen most definitely would've shown up a lot later in the series.
I so wish they went with Foot Clan Origins, whether that Rise. Rise was such a pathetic waste of time.

I'm guessing that they went with Rise because they figure that if it's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles related series then it should actually have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rise may have been the only other candidate at the time and it had the turtles so it automatically won. As good as Foot Clan Origins sounds they probably didn't think it would do so well as part of the franchise because the turtles wouldn't be in it, except for maybe a quick reference here or there. Yes, Rise was a complete waste of time (and money) and I find it hard to believe that a well known studio like Nickelodeon would follow up an awesome series (2012) with something so awful. It was terrible planning on their part so shame on them.

This series would be awesome but not with that Cartoon Network style animation it’s so awful. Like rise of the tmnt it’s just hideous animation. It’s almost anime looking and anime is so ugly and ridiculous lol
TMNT Origins looked a lot like Ben 10 meets the TMNT. The style was way too similar. No idea why they would claim such style would be "more serious". As all the art looks goofy by nature.
