  • The AC stopped blowing cold in one day. This video shows some troubleshooting to find the 30A 30 Amp fuse that was the culprit for the AC not engaging and blowing cold!

    I've had AC problems for a year. Every time the car is stopped the AC would turn off... I couldn't find the fault, I almost changed the climatronic. Until I saw your video and one of the leaf fuses next to the one that burned on you was burned out. I change it and it works perfectly. Thank you so much!

    Thx Mucho! I had a dirty 30A fuse over the battery. Cleaned out the fuse contacts and bam, AC. I had changed out the compressor a few years ago. I'm going to share a fix w/ you. During my compressor swap, a mouse at the wire on my ATS (Atmospheric Temp Sensor). The FCU thought it was 32F. AC would not turn on. I discovered it after I went thru the Shop manual electrical section and jumpered out the ATS at the FCU to discover the problem. Note, the ATS was never mentioned in the Shop Manual..

    Had the same issue right now. Car was in the workshop for 2 weeks but they couldn't find the problem. They tried things like changing fan control module and AC control module ( i have climatronic), some new sensors etc. but they haven't noticed this little oxidation on this fuse. to be specific this fuse is for level1 of the coolant fans. level2 is one of the bigger fuses. by turning on AC they blow both in level 1 and this engages the AC. with a bad fuse the fans won't spin, the signal to the control module is missing and because of that the AC won't work.

    Well lol I been bragging on this pos car a great ac and then no ac . I have no clue on how this system works . So after a few ubtube I changed the ac module and no change . I could jumper the fans and ac compressor and make them work . I even tested the fuses with a test light but it was not under a load . As Paul Danner said test under a load . So when I tried to pull the fuse which would light up the test light it was stuck with the green crustys . Damn lol cleaned up the blades and sprayed them with wd40 . Work good now thanks for the information.

    • @bbstacker70
      @bbstacker70 Před 4 lety

      Same exact thing happened to me. As a matter of fact VW Beetle owners had a class action suit against VW years ago. I have replaced my top-of-battery fuse block once, and I replaced the alternator to battery cable with heavier gage. That was about 10 years ago, and no problems since. I think the cable has been the biggest culprit. My original was absolutely fried. Horrible, incompetent design.
