I'm trying to figure out how I can give The Acolyte TWO thumbs down.
I noticed those inconsistencies in the Obi-Wan comic series. Was thinking of why some of the cells look quite well while others look like the artist was half asleep or something. It really is unfortunate.

@@cameronellis6946 Yeah but Thrawn'll be back, Ray Stevenson died so no more Baylan Skoll, unless we get him in animation with a voice actor who can mimic him I suppose. I really really wanted more Baylan and Shin, I loved both and wonder what they'll do with Skoll's character in season 2? I guess if they can create CGI Luke why not CGI Baylan, dunno. Still sad such an amazing actor died so young.

It was obvious Feloni held back in the Ahsoka final, because he has a lot more coming. Same with Favreau when he made Mando season 3, he was saving plot for the film.
Sorry but no, you don't get to use "I'm gonna make something good later, pinky swear!" as an excuse for putting out utter sh^te. Other then a few cool moments, Mando 3 was absolute garbage and completely erased the entire point of the first two seasons. Hard to even call season 1 of Ahsoka a season considering nothing freaking happened.

I can't really imagine Baylan as the son. The son was the literal dark side. The darkest. That wasn't Baylan. Unless my understanding of it is wrong, which is very well could be.

Abeloth makes the most sense based on Season 1. Great Mothers need to flee Peridea because an ancient power has awakened which terrifies them. The Great Mothers could have been Abeloth's prison guards but with the death of the celestials she can no longer be contained. I think Shin will become Abeloth's vessel.
It's hinted through all off the show .

That Kenobi comic is some [adult swim] style nightmare fuel. It's stuff like this that give us the phrase, back to the drawing board. Like how did they literally pass this off as if it was anywhere near acceptable?

Quick question... Baylan hints as Shin's role being - much larger than just a jedi (or something close to that). Could it be that Baylan is foreshadowing shin who is going to be the new son? In other words Baylan's role is to pave the way for the introdcution/triggering of the new father, son and daughter...

As to the artwork in the comic -Bad Star Wars is a whole genre unto itself at this point. The Holiday Special being an infamous example.

I bet that it may have to do with the pay of the artist as well. Crunch time can really influence the art, too.
The influence of AI on the industry as a shortcut has been reducing the desire of producing quality work to be stolen by AI art creators.
Are you SURE they loved the pitch for Acolyte? I've heard from a great many sources it was ratioed and the series was immediately cancelled after season 1 with the producers, (who were going to bring in Rian Johnson for some of the directing) planning to sue Disney/Lucasfilm for breach of contract...

I'm willing to bet mad money that the movie that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is supposed to direct won't make it past Disney+. There is no way LucasFilm can cancel that film; absolutely no way. They've committed themselves. But there's no way they can okay it for theaters.

I really don’t see this Ray film happening. I think it’s been quietly cancelled. The only person who seems to be talking about it is Daisy Ridley.

We can only hope that it is cancelled. Episodes 7-9 were terrible and they should not make any more beyond 9 unless they want to get back to George's vision but of course they are not going to do that.

As an illustrator, I find it questionable that the artist has to trace. I don't care how much of a time crunch your under, if you can't do it free hand, maybe you shouldn't be there, but I'm old school, what do I know.

I have been on board from day one for The Acolyte. Hubris is bad enough, but over-enjoying 900+ years of no Sith hubris? It's only right that someone take them down a notch. I have NEVER been a fan of removing kids from their families at an early age, simply because they're special. It's a self-serving act that, if successful, ends biological family life for a new Jedi Padawan. Ugh, there's SOOO much Luke lore after the fall of Palpatine...it would've been nice to actually see the Order transform.

I am not a great artist, but I could draw better likenesses to some of the characters in primary school. Insulting to the actors and dismissive to the fans are vast understatement. I am not even a fan of comic books, and this annoys me.
Meg, this is something I've been meaning to comment on for months. You have the EQ on your mic set with way too much low end making it very difficult to actually hear you. Less EQ and compression... it doesn't work with your voice at all. Just warm your voice up and take off the crisp highs, don't make it sound like you're underwater.

It better be active with the force cause most of the others shows are crap you wouldn't think dizzyknee could mess up Ashoka, Andor, bobba fett, mandolorian & kenobi are the only 2 that got it right
RIP Ray Stevens... but they need to simply recast him, if they kill him off early because they are afraid to recast, ill be annoyed... I feel like not letting the character finish his story is disrespectful to Ray.

I heard a statement "some fans don't feel this is the star wars they know". I think that this is a fantastic thing because this how star wars grows and continues. I am so looking forward to this show.

Comic art was never meant to be photo real , and tracing stills doesn’t create compelling art… I was a comic artist and a fan my entire life, and what I enjoyed was an artists unique visual story telling and style, the way they portray details, dynamic layouts, and of course rendering style… I’ve seen other artists who trace stills and it just misses the point. Not a fan.
Oh Lords of Kobol, a season 2? with how bad season one was, quality wise and ratings ? how low can the ratings go? down deep I imagine.
As far as the crappy artwork goes, Disney for sure can do better, but will they spend the time, effort, and most of all money to do so? Not terribly likely. I’m not a total hater of Disney Star Wars. The Ahsoka show is almost my favorite Star Wars output since the 80s. But the cutting of corners is pretty tragic. I understand all this is about money, but it’s a great franchise with amazing characters, it’s sad to see them taking the quantity over quality route just for profits based on high volume output.

Dark Horse actually cared about the Star Wars and Alien IPs. What Marvel comics has often done with them with tracing and overuse of 3D assets has has been completely disgraceful.

From what I can see from the art work is the consistency is just not there, I get, being an artist myself, that each of us has a different style, but this is just shody work, it looks hurried .
I'm not a fan of comics, but these new Kenobi comics are painful. AI could do so much better, and AI is garbage. Wow. Is there zero quality control at Marvel?

Kenobi's series was awful except Reva. They should've written him out of it. After the sequel trilogy, no one should trust Kathleen Kennedy with anything. It was clear that the actors weren't the issue.
Multiple creatives in the room broke down crying? Over the initial pitch? Sorry. Don't believe it. Trying to draw us in with a story like that won't work. You just need to make a good show. Nothing else will get the job done.

I have heard that Season 2 of the Acolyte is cancelled already.. I do not see this story being a hit. I am more excited about Skeleton Crew. The producers of the Acolyte say they are going against George Lucas' vision- that is not what most of us Star Wars fans want to see.
The Prequels were George Lucas' bison and vast majority of Star Wars fans hated them.
As for the Acolyte season 2 - those were unsubstantiated rumours. The show isn't even out yet.

In relation to the comics, the art died with the end of DH's artist involvement and the currents of artists are IMO not good enough to clean brushes.
