I'm 38. I've been a Star Wars fan basically my whole life, but I think I'm done now. I just can't do it anymore. I'm finally to the point where I just don't care anymore. SW Theory's face pretty much sums up my current feeling for Star Wars. Congrats to the activists that inserted themselves into Lucasfilm over the past decade. You know, I'd say 99% of things I loved have had some sort of bad sequel, remake, reboot, or been totally butchered beyond recognition. And I have a varied range when it comes to TV and movie from the start of the 20th century. The 1% that hasn't been touched, it is inevitable that they will one day. I just can't do this anymore. I'm going to stick with the physical media of all those old things and just watch the originals.

In 1977, I saw Star Wars when I was 10 years old at the Briggsmore theatre in Modesto CA. It blew me away and I've alaways been appreciative of George for what he gave us. In the case of Star Wars it might really be true: Lucas was furious everyone hated his midichlorians and he wanted to make the entire sequel trilogy about them.

Midiclorians only create life, presumably by creating a connection to the Force as apparently life could not exist without hearing this will of the Force (this part is vague).
I think many fans of the saga think Midiclorians ARE the Force or what is creating the Force. But the Force is still the energy field binding everything just like in the OT, kind of like the "aether" or the causal structure of the universe transmitting messages from the past/future (its will).
Midiclorians simply expand upon the original lore of the Force in OT and explain its connection to living beings. The Force affect nonliving things as well. Its effect on those things are not due to Midiclorians.

Literally EVERY Disney Star Wars production has a flashback scene. Rey's parents, Luke attacking Kylo Ben, Mando being rescued, Andor being found, Boba Fett being found, Reva as a bungling, Anakin and Obi Wan sparring, Ahsoka in the Clone Wars. I'm sure I'm probably missing some but jeez...compare that to pre Disney Star Wars where you're thrown in at the deep end and expected to just use your brain to follow the story and understand the context. The story of Luke, Vader, Ben, were all told skillfully without the need for a flashback.
I thought seeing the original 1977 premiere of Star Wars at the impressionable age of 10 would pretty much guarantee I would be a fan for life. I'm actually sad that Disney took that away from me. RIP Star Wars.

1. Calling it the "Thread" doesn't change the nature of the Force. Different culture's are going to call the Force different names.
2. The Thread allows you to do exactly what Luke and Ben were talking about during Luke's training on the Falcon. "You mean it controls your actions? Partially, but it also obeys your command."
3. The Jedi dogmatic view of the Force contributed to Anakin's fall, not to mention the clear negative effect of being separated from one's family has on force users, or anyone for that matter. Clearly these woman have a reason to be apprehensive of Jedi coming in to take their kids.

The fucked up part is i remember a book where luke actually got stranded on a planet with a female group of force witches, and they were way more empowered and respectable than the drivel that was that episode. They had discipline, and ostracized their members for using the dark side too heavily which caused blood vessels to burst around their eyes, giving them the sith look without being sith. Cant remember the name of the book, but it was good. Disney could have just adopted that story beat for beat and made a killing from all audiences, and instead they try this stupid stunt. Im so glad i dont give disney any money
