    The thing that makes Gondwa better for me its the fact that the whole map is interesting. While on panjura I find myself spawning in the middle of nowhere and then just trying to get to the hotspots

    Both offer a very different play style. I enjoy the simplicity of Panjura, but Gondwa has become my new favorite recently. All it's missing is more fresh water.

  • @pivotnaza
    @pivotnaza Před rokem +26

    Panjura has better quest chains, better mark rewards, easier water sources and more quest related resource nodes. Gondwa is incredible to look at, but it can get really hard to move dinos around, specially the big ones.

  • @CosmicPotato740
    @CosmicPotato740 Před rokem +28

    I think it depends on the individuals preference for location. If you have a player that loves thick huge forests, hillsides, lakes, open swamps then you’ll like Panjura. If you like cast open desert spaces, deep sea biomes, rocky grand-canyon areas, thick dense pine forests then Gondowa is better suited.
    I also think the time gap plays a role too. Panjura was the games first map invented early in development while Gondwa was released in later development with improved graphics.

  • @GRIMWOODz
    @GRIMWOODz Před rokem +17

    Would be cool if the game had seasons. For example in the wet season maps like Gondwa would have more fresh water spots to drink from in puddles and rock pools etc. Even have some contaminated puddles that give you negative stamina effects for the sake of survival etc.

  • @Nic-with-the-Beard
    @Nic-with-the-Beard Před rokem +98

    I've only really played Gondwa at this point, but I think there definitely is an issue with salt water going all the way to nearly the middle of the map, given that the island is already surrounded, I wouldn't mind if they adjusted the rivers to be fresh or allowed some of the semi-aquatics to process salt water.

    • @S1gilByte
      @S1gilByte Před rokem +28

      They need to make the fisher diet negate saltwater effects so semis actually have a reason to give in the ocean instead of just kais

    • @ShadeScarecrow
      @ShadeScarecrow Před rokem +2

      Yea that is really my one issue with the map as well. Thats why I usually stay near-ish to the hotsprings. Cause thats a bunch of little ponds so they usually have enough water quality.

    • @KingslayaJ
      @KingslayaJ Před rokem +6

      Realistically idk if most of the semis were able to process salt water but one that should be able to is sarco, sarco is like 90% aquatic some would say it’s basically just aquatic. Irl crocodiles are able to go back and forth between salt and fresh water so imo atleast sarco should be able to drink it. In an unrealistic sense most of the semis should be able to drink salt like spino atleast spino and sarco.

    New map is prettier by far but also more cartoonish. I would say that Panjura is a little more immersive in the role of being a dino. One thing needs to be fixed on both maps is clipping, too much disappearing into the map structures such as rocks, etc... Also the mechanics of getting stuck/stopped by a log on the ground is really annoying. Maybe as a baby, sure...but a grown adult dinosaur cannot walk over a log barely off the ground is frustrating. Vent over. Oh, that's not true, one more vent... they need to fix that not being able to use your existing dino's between maps crap. It takes a lifetime to raise those little monsters, I don't want to have to do it twice...

    • @S1gilByte
      @S1gilByte Před rokem +6

      If they turned off collisions for all these tiny props it would be so much better, sure it may be unimmersive when playing a small or young Dino but I feel it’s a more than needed tradeoff

    When it comes to the variety of sea creatures on gondwa There's quite a bit more than I expected it to be, I was expecting justific kinds of fish but no we also have sharks, manta rays, sunfish and turtles. Now, when it comes to the quantity, I would have to agree with you that there's not a lot.

    Gondwa is better in every way. More interaction with players, more quest a area, more scenery than just trees, also despite it being the same size overall it actually feels smaller because half of it is ocean making getting across the map alot faster. Also has more attention to detail and sound effects.

    • @slaayerr1
      @slaayerr1 Před rokem +1

      Now if only there wasn't a very limited amount of drinking areas on the map basically forcing most spots to be dead zones that would otherwise be potential hotspots. There's a reason majority of your playerbase gravitates towards crater/plains area and that's it

  • @Ju5t4l1z4rd

    Will say Gondwa is not fully aquatic friendly with waterfalls kinda blocking off areas. I can get around a waterfall that’s south of Great Plains and it can be a struggle for Kaiwhekia even with Beachcomber if you don’t manage stamina well enough.

    Personally for me I find it a lot easier to do quests on Panjura than on Gondwa. First time I played Gondwa, I was impressed but the visuals, the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and the dust moving in the wind.....but I struggled to find the quest items on land and sea because they're so far spread out e.g. Flowers and tiger nuts etc. But when I first played Panjura, it was a lot easier to do quests and for me personally there's too many salt rivers on Gondwa. Overall Gondwa is the best map in visual perspective but that's my opinion obviously.

    I really like gondwa map 4 the colors and different biomes, some are good for hiding/hunting in bushes others in forest etc. if u are bored of a zone u can go to other and don't fill de same. What i don't like is the empty oceans. We need more aquatics dinos and npc fish tuttles critters to fill the world. But they need to leave the dinos to players.

    Panjura has less water (deep rivers) due to engine limitations when using unreal engine 4, when they moved to unreal engine 5, the amount of time required to change or update the river depths would probably take far longer than creating new map.

    I would love it if they made a map that was more so land with a few big pockets of water with rivers streams connecting them that are deep enough to swim and dive in. It would make getting around easier for aquatic dinosaurs as well as still being easy for land animals to get around too and if they were to add a ability to grab and pull dinos in the water with some acrotic dinosaurs it would create a sense of I’m I about to be death rowed when I try to cross some of the river screams at crossing points

    I have mostly stayed on panjura, mostly because of the fresh water issue on Gondwa, if those rivers and lakes were less salty than the ocean...think its called brackish water* then I would have no issue with the map.

  • @KingslayaJ

    I just got the game a week ago and I started on gondwa, now.. I have not played panjura but I’m still going to express my opinion. So from all the CZcams videos I’ve seen panjura looks very idk the same, like it’s just 1 big area while gondwa has multiple different areas to explore different landscapes while still having plenty of hotspots, not to mention gondwa has all the new stuff in it and is the most likely to be updated so I’d rather based my progress there. Another thing I like about gondwa is how most water sources is connected by river making it a lot easier to traverse the map as something like spino or sarco. Now I’m not saying panjura is bad but it’s just that I think that gondwa is the better map from what I’ve seen.

    I really like both map's. Both have their special things.
    Panjura, was for me the first map to ever walk on and it was a great experience. And it was the first official map and we'll it kinda feels old-school more or less.
    Gondwa is new. New things to explore, new interesting terrains. (Even though the salt water gets on my nerves sometimes)
    No matter were you are you will find others player more than in Panjura.
    I really wish the ocean will be a bit more lively then it is now. But after some time it will be like Panjura. After some time Hotspot comes and you only go there.
    But I have to say for beginners is Panjura perfect but Gondwa is nice too

    My issue with Gondwa is having to cross rivers with a land animal. A large chunk of the land bridge crossing are not flat and require you to jump up rocks or across a gap.

    I’d like Panjura a lot more if the big lake didn’t lose water quality and most importantly if there was first person. At a certain size I can’t even see anything with all the tree leaves in my camera. I won’t go back into Panjura until they allow fliers. Gondwa is very beautiful I find myself stopping often just to enjoy the scenery.

  • @LeCumminz
    @LeCumminz Před rokem

    Panjura, while dull, is still such a beautiful map to just walk along with other players. With so much forest, it feels like a much larger map than it really is, so finding other players after not doing so for a while makes it sort of a big deal since it’s usually empty. Gondwa on the other hand, feels too much like a playground in a way. So much variety and detail all around though, like dust blowing in the wind. It makes it feel much more alive and interesting. However, the amount of water all around makes the map feel way too small. The edges of the map needed more land. I also find it harder to find questing areas. At least you see other players more often now. I haven’t played on Gondwa that much yet, so my view on it could change. A problem I have with both maps though is getting stuck. It sucks. A lot.

  • @aejhlu
    @aejhlu Před rokem

    I like gondwa for one reason only: the zone/area borders are much easier to see. On panjura I often had no idea where the limit of the zone was. There were often no cliffs, rivers, or lakes providing a clear border. It made questing annoying.

    I started playing the game 4 days before Gondwa was released, so both were new to me, I didn't like Panjura, its too samey samey over all of the map. The waterways are way better on Gondwa, but my issue with Panjura is really that its almost all forest, and I find that boring, theres not enough variation. It needs more plains, and colours other than green. Gondwa has a bit of everything, and as you pointed out, I started playing with Panjura, and after 3 days I was already starting to get a little bored of the game, because in 3 days I had seen 1 person total because everyone stays in the same place. I also cannot find herbivore players on Gondwa, so that is a downside to that, but its better than not finding any players at all. Gondwa saved me from moving onto a different game because you run into people a lot more.

    @Antares_867 Před rokem

    Tbh I like Gondwa more. I run into more players more often and don't feel so alone all the time. And there's four hotspots pretty equally separate from each other. (Hunter's Thicket + Salt Flats, Young Grove, Big Quill Lake and Impact Crater) With the amount of water channels there are, large semi aquatics like Sarcosuchus and Spinosaurus can travel pretty quickly to most areas, and the water channels divide some of the land mass, condensing the terrestrial dinosaurs to certain areas, especially if the water channels are too wide and deep for them to cross without the risk of drowning.
    The open fields and wide open spaces in the bodies of water also make for great battle locations, and semi aquatics aren't at a huge disadvantage when they get into a fight on land like they would on Panjura, 'coz there's usually water not far for them.
    I feel like quests will improve on the Gondwa map after the quest update that you had mentioned in one of your other videos. (Hopefully.)
    My only problem is the amount of salt water. I feel like they should make it so at a certain point in the rivers as they're starting to go inland is have some brackish water. Closer it is to the sea, the higher the amount of salinity. And honestly, I feel like Sharptooth Marsh or whatever it's called should at least be fresh water or an estuary. It'd just make more sense rather than waterfalls breaking which part is fresh, and which part is salt.

    For panjura I never really liked it tbh to many trees and cliffs and it feels plain and dull. And trying to find players in panjura is rare for me they are always at the hotspots most of the time. And quests definitely feel much harder compared to gondwa.
    But as for gondwa it feels like a whole new color palette with the rainbow hills , red island, burnt forest, and the hoodoo's and ocean coral reefs. It definitely has more color to it And the hot spots for gondwa are very easy to get too. Quests are relatively easy sense gondwa is kind of a open biome not as much of a forest as panjura. So it makes seeing items more easy with not as much trees. And the cliffs on gondwa are alright not like ones gonna pop up and Fuck you over out of nowhere honestly can't miss the cliffs on gondwa. I see people on gondwa often at Big quill lake , green valley, impact Crater , and the Grand plains , everywhere tbh not just one area. But gondwa's ocean is kind of empty if you play as a kai you'll not find very many others. But the sea life on gondwa I fuckin love it. SeaTurtles sharks stingrays and sunfish are so nice to see. Although some places in the ocean can get dark like some trenches. I love the new underwater home cave too and the decor w it.

    I love the different areas of this map, i don't like rainbow area though, just looks to fake, i like realism.

    They should add more Ai dinosaurs all over the map , make single player better .

    The huge problem with panjura is that you often wont get anny quests when entering an area or if you complete a quest no new quest will appear. And also the quest items on this map are sometimes way too scarce

    Panjura fits better for herbivores because the number of berry bushes you find while Gondwa fits carnivores better.

    Panjura bigger then gondwa right ?

  • @thesouthwillriseagain1984

    I stopped play in Gondwa because this huge map are nearly empty anytime on any server because more than half of server chillin in the impact crater or in the gereen fields near impact crater, plus map is too cartoonish

    Panjura has a more prehistoric BBC vibes while Gondwa has a lot more mixed biomes vibe

  • @charmchiii
    @charmchiii Před rokem

    Gondwa is more diverse but water and food kinda sucks if you are big.
    Panjua has larger land mass and only a few biomes BUT food is easier and more land to explore.

    Panjura reminds me on The Isle Legacy. It feels realistic, idk

  • @pantherinthedarknessPandra

    I love Panjura but its lacking in quest , gondwa how ever gives abundance of quest but both are amazing maps really with pot would make more official maps

  • @sournote8610
    @sournote8610 Před rokem

    Gondwa needs more fresh water. Too many water sources are locked down leading to people dying of thirst way too much.
    I get it's a survival game but water is EXTREMELY hard to get to while also trying to grow.

    I agree with this video. I like both maps; I just don't like that Gondwa has a very arid feel to it. Panjura feels like a prehistoric world. It feels like Jurassic Park.

  • @davidperry511

    Panjura is better for hotspots and just fucking around. Gondwa you actually have to survive, and eating players isn't a "I'm bored and have other food sources" thing, you actually have to hunt players in order to survive a lot of the time

    Gondwa is pretty and has cool areas but they go to waste cause there is so many dead zones.
